Started Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim 800/160 twice a day for a staph infection two weeks ago. Stomach pain and nausea started in second week. Apparently these are rare side effects. I stopped it for 24hrs. and symptoms subsided. But I did not want to risk compromising the treatment so I started again. Symptoms returned about ten hrs later. I tested positive for benzos. I cannot figure out why. I don't take Xanax Valium or klodopins. So I need to know if this substance can do this because I can't figure it out. I'm going to not take it for a week to see if this is causing it. It's hard for an ex junkie to say your not taking something and really aren't and it's showing up on a urine screen. I took a pill from my Zofran bottle. It was generic. I've not taken this before. I looked at it before I took it. Then I looked at the others in the bottle and realized the one I took didn't look the same. Of course it's gone now so I don't know numbers but it had the markings on one side to split 4 ways.
