Can I safely switch to naproxen sodium 220 mg? ## You can, if you've been instructed to do so by your medical provider, but you should be away that it is not going to help you pain as much, since the Naproxen is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?
Does this have any effectiveness? Just had minor surgery and my husband gave this to me but I don't think it is working. ## No, it most likely doesn't, according to the NIH. It would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply that isn't expired. Are naproxen 500 Mg tabs gluten free? ## @Wm1202, From what I could gather, the inactive ingredients in Naproxen 500 mg tablets are as follows: -[Croscarmellose sodium]- This comes from wood pulp or cotton fibers. It contains no sugar or starch. -[Povidone]- This is made from synthetic polymers -[Magnesium stearate]- 'Well, we know magnesium is gluten free...' Having seen that list I think it's safe to say that any Naproxen containing this particular set of inactive ingredients is deemed gluten-free. Please be aware however that binders/fillers may be subject to change from one product to the next. I hope this helps!
I found this half blue pill oval looks like a can only it says is 8 6 ## @jtv, I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean about it "looking like a can"? If it's half an oval pill, how do you consider this to be so? A 12.00 mm light blue oval (220mg) Naproxen sodium tablet with "L368" on one side and blank on the other, sounds like a close prospect (whereas if it were cut in half you'd see '68' or '89'). The main problem with having half a pill is that the other markings are the only thing that can narrow it down to something specific. So finding an accurate match could be anyone's best guess…especially without a photograph to go off of… If it's very important to you though, something you may want to look into is having t...

No, as needed means that you don't always have to take a pill every 12 hours, if you don't need to, but you can take up to 2 a day, 12 hours apart, if you are in pain and need to do so. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Thank you! ## I think she means what is it made of, in the way that we know aspirin comes from willow tree bark. Where does naproxen come from, how or where did we find it. Ibuprofen has cellulose and corn starch as its parents, what is naproxen's lineage?
Apo-Naproxen. This drug is elevating my blood pressure I have taken four 500 mg over 3 days how long does this take to get out of my system ## It could take a few days, before things return to normal. However, for future reference you should be aware that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories can cause elevated blood pressure, as well as fluid retention, as side effects, as reported by the U.S. FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. I'm taking 500 mg naproxen and 2each apap/codiene #3 300/30 for sciatic nerve pain. I'm Still in Pain! What can I take in addition to this combination without putting myself in further health risks? (I have Tramadol, Alieve and arthritis strength Tylenol on hand) ## Hello, Frances! How are you? Are you sure that it's sciatic? It's kind of funny, but given all of my knowledge of medications, side effects, and etc. I didn't know until recently, when my husband mentioned it, that sometimes the sacral area is thought to be related to the same area, and he was right. Totally changed how I handle the pain. As to the medications, given how much you've already taken, you need to consult your doctor, because it looks like you might need a stronger medication to alleviate ...

I'd like to know about the availability of artridol. ## Hi Roy, From what I've been reading in some of the other threads here, it looks like Artridol is commonly available as an over the counter medication in Mexico. However, if you're looking for it in the US, you'd probably need to visit your doctor for a prescription first, as it does contain Rx ingredients. I also posted some details on Artridol (back in Nov, 2011) in the following thread that may be of help to you on your search. Apparently the ingredients can differ depending on which country you get it from... Hi, I have been diagnosed with Scrub typhus and the medication (doxycycline) was started after 15 days (the delay is because of diagnosis) from initial appearance of symptoms. First symptom was a severe throat pain which made difficulty in swallowing even my saliva. Later symptoms like fever (103 F), severe body pain (unbearable at back and limbs), consistent chills, fever and sweating developed and remained with me for more than 2 months. I started to loose weight (around 11 Kilograms in 45 days) and my immune cells were found in elevated levels (double than the normal level). Hemoglobin and RBCs were found reduced than the normal limits. NSAIDs (Naproxen, Diclofenac, Ibuprofen) were the only medication prescribed during this time (after initial dose of doxycycline for 10 days). It has...

Hello I recently broke my ankle and the doctors prescribed me hydrocodone to take away the pain because the naproxen wasnt working. The hydrocodone only lasts 6 hours am i able to take naproxen or ibprofen after the 6 hours to help with the pain so i dont have to take another vicodin? ## Princessjeffy06, as long as you don't have any problems taking Naproxen, you can take it when you take the Hydrocodone or when the Hydrocodone wears off. Naproxen is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and helps reduce inflammation. Hydrocodone is an opiate and helps relieve pain. It is common for drs to prescribe them together.
