Naproxen And Codiene And Tramadol

I'm taking 500 mg naproxen and 2each apap/codiene #3 300/30 for sciatic nerve pain. I'm Still in Pain! What can I take in addition to this combination without putting myself in further health risks? (I have Tramadol, Alieve and arthritis strength Tylenol on hand)

Hello, Frances! How are you? Are you sure that it's sciatic?

It's kind of funny, but given all of my knowledge of medications, side effects, and etc. I didn't know until recently, when my husband mentioned it, that sometimes the sacral area is thought to be related to the same area, and he was right. Totally changed how I handle the pain.

As to the medications, given how much you've already taken, you need to consult your doctor, because it looks like you might need a stronger medication to alleviate it.

Additionally, you should not take the APAP/Codeine with the Tramadol, since both are considered habit forming opiates, according to the FDA. The Arthritis Tylenol would also not be a good idea, since it also contains APAP/Acetaminophen.

What medication has your doctor prescribed for you?
