Just want to know what this pill is before I take it? I found it in my room on the floor and don't remember ever taking a pill like this before. ## Hello Louis, I found a Morphine Sulfate 15 mg extended release oral tablet that matches your description. This medication is used to treat chronic pain and neonatal abstinence syndrome. Below I have provided a picture and some additional information that I sourced from the National Institute of Health. This medication is prescription only and I strongly advise that you do not take this pill unless it is currently prescribed to you for a medical condition as it would be illegal to do so. Product Code: 0228-4270 Ingredient(s): Morphine Sulfate Inactive Ingredient(s): - Anhydrous Lactose - Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (280 Mpa.s At 2%) - Magnesi...

I found some capsules, they are white with grey caps, there are no numbers, letters or markings of any kind. Does this mean that they are not a prescription or illegeall drug...perhaps just a suppliment of some sort??? ## i've been prescribed 90MG.MORPHINE SUL ER capsules, which used to be all white caps. with no markings, now the pharmacy refilled my prescription, & they are GREY & OFF-WHITE CAPS.with no markings,if it's the same as what you have :it's a very strong narcotic to relieve pain & i'm only prescribed for them because I'm terminal, with liver failure. ## I found some capsules that are Gray and off white. The contents of the capsules are a solid capsule shape. It is a very dark brown almost black. Have any idea what they could be. They were in ...

I recently took a scheduled urine drug screen for my pain management doctor. The results showed a false positive for both Restorin (unsure of spelling) and heroin. I have never had either of these drugs. I do take morphine daily, but I believe that my migraine medicine (Sumatriptan aka Imitrex) is responsible for the false positives. Has this happened to anyone else? ## Can sumatriptan test positive for meth. I need to please because I took a test haven't done anything for years and I only take what my doctor gives me

Since cdc mandated 90mg morphine or equivalent as daily max amount to be prescribed my pain management clinic has been reducing my pain meds..... i was receiving 75mcg patch & 6 hydrocodone for breakthru pain. First drop was to 50mcg & 6 remained same thats a major drop of like 80mg morphine equivalent if i remember right.... but wasnt drastic effects other than pain increase (over 15 years of pain medications experience) but following month dropped to 25 &12mcg patch & 7 hydrocodone but had major dizzy spell after being on my feet for awhile was like a major vertigo attack that lasted 30-45 minutes when mentioned to dr they started running tests after test, i told them it was from med cut but they wouldnt believe me. Primary dr sent to ent & ent sent to audioligest ...

How many 4mg hydromorphone do I have to take to match what I was taking (morphine 60mg every 8hrs plus 15mg every 4hrs)? ## The truth is there really are no precise equivalencies between different pain medications. Trial and error is the only way to find a dosage of remotely similar efficacy for your unique body chemistry, tolerance and level of pain. The presence of various binders and fillers also complicate matters from tablet to tablet, in that they may affect bioavailability or how well your body absorbs the active ingredient(s) that these excipients are mixed with. The half-life of each respective drug should also be taken into consideration... Having said this, it's probably best that you work closely with a pain management specialist to determine what works and what doesn...

Will taking gabapentin stop the effects of morphine, and how long does it take for the gabapentin to be metabolized? ## Hello, Nikki! How are you? Gabapentin is actually an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders, so no, it will not block the effects of Morphine. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings and weight changes. When you say metabolized, are you asking about when side effects stop, when it's no longer detectable, or something else? Can you please be more specific? ## I was on morphine for pain caused by a bulged disc in spine causing nerve compression it helped but 3 years later I was taking up to 150 mg a day and a scare promoted me to get off the...

He recently took a urine test that came up positive for morphine, but he only takes oxycodone, xanax and adderall. Does this mean he's doing something that I don't know about? ## No not at all. All opiates break down into morphine once they are broken down in your body. What this means is if he is taking his normal Oxys and takes a drug test it will come up as positive for opiates and if sent for farther screening it will come back positive for Morphine. ## This is a 6 million dolor question. I have heard about Theresa’s opoxi

I was taking 60 mg of morphine tablet how much morphine Sul 100mg/5ML would equal 60MG morphine tablet. ## Hi Jess, Looking at the numbers, if there are 100mg in 5mL (1 tsp) of liquid morphine, then one could divide the dosage in half (2.5mL) for a close conversion that would equal 50mg. The 10mg difference upon doing so would amount to what I "guestimated" to be 0.5mL-0.6mL, based on 12.5mg being in approx. 0.625mL. However I'd still encourage you to double check things with your doctor first before attempting anything he/she hasn't previously recommend. Hope this helps! ## Mom was on 30mg of the morphine pills but the new dr switched her in hospice to come home with 100 mg per 5ml ( 20 mg/ml) Can someone tell me what amount this is ? Did they up her 30 mg pill form she...

My urine test showed morphine but I only take what I am prescribed. Wondered if the 10 mg Ir oxymorphone Roxane have some type of a morphine filler. ## It's actually oxycodone and morphine mix so yes morphine will show up. I am taking same meds that exact how mine shows up on drug test in Dr office. ## Thats completely wrong. Oxymorphone is a morphine molecule that has three of its hydrogen atoms replaced with oxygen. Oxycodone is a codeine molecule that has the same hydrogen replaced with oxygen. The oxygen has a higher electronegativity and therefore a higher binding affinity to mu opiate receptors in the brain. Oxymorphone will not show up as morphine as its metabolic pathway is different. The red lines on the side of the drug test cup will test positive for opiates, but when the...

I am an injured vet with amputation. I am prescribed norco 10 mg and oxycontin 10mg extended release. I was told my last three ua's tested positive for morphine but I have not taken any morphine. They've even gone so far as to accuse me of using heroin which I would NEVER do. What the hell is going on? Why is morphine coming out? ## Who is drug testing you? Are they just using a drug screen cup? People who are not educated in this should not be testing people. If its just a cup they test with and do not send the urine to a test lab cups can and will show false positives. This happens a lot. If they send the urine to the lab or use blood screen they should talk to the lab about the results before accusing. Morphine will show up positive if you are taking any opiates. Your body na...

I have taken two 30 mgs of morphine twice a day and two 10 650 oxycodone every day for over two years. How hard will it be to stop these medications? ## My personal opinion is that because the difficulty of withdrawal is also dependent upon a combination of one's mental, emotional, spiritual and physical fortitude, comparing how bad someone else's unique situation was wont necessarily reflect how your experience will play out, for better or for worse. Just as an example, I know people who've been smoking for 15 years straight and undergo some serious withdrawals upon quitting. All the while, my father smoked for 40+ years and quit cold turkey with only a couple weeks of mild cold symptoms. I understand opiates are a different story, but I wanted to help put things into persp...

I take 30mg of orphine sulfate called zomorph does anyone else I take it twice daily the thing is it keeps me awake all night and I can't sleep at all does anyone else have this problem ## Hello, Tammy5583! How are you? Though it isn't common, narcotics can cause that in some people that take them. The energy boost is one reason that some people end up abusing opiates. Have you consulted your doctor? It might be better for you to try a different medication. ## I have but as I'm allergic to almost everything morphine the pnly pain realieve I can take it takes away a lot of the pain just keeps me awake I even top up with oramorph I also take amitriplyn to help sleep but doesn't work ## Yes. This also keeps me wide awake all night. Even when I am so tired I cannot go to sle...

morphine ## What is an oval light green pill with "rph" on one side and "15" on the other. It is approx 1.5cm/0.5cm. I was told it was morphine. Is this correct? ## A green tablet with 15 one one side and rph on the other. ## Yes, that is RatioPharm Morphine, it is a Canadian product, usually listed as RatioMorphine. The NIH warns that this medication carries the risk of being and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Is there anything I can help with?

i have been taking 50mg of hyrdocodone per day for the last 6 months and it is not working for the pain anymore. I have ankolying spondylitus. My Dr has put me on 15mg morphine extended release 2x per day. I took 15mg about 3 hours ago and so far not relief. My questions is will this work for me as I was taking 50mg of hyrocodone per day. ## How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? The ER Morphine is released slowly, over a period of 12 hours, it is not released all at once, like the Hydrocodone was, so you will not feel the same effect. There is also a change that this dosage isn't high enough for you. Have you informed your doctor of the issue? Though, it is usually best to give it a week, or so, to see if things improve. The FDA warns that these medications carry the ri...

Is the round white pill with 54/262 extended release morphine? ## 54/262 is immediate release morphine ## Hello, Sunshine and Andy! How are you? Just to clarify, this tablet is manufactured by Roxane Laboratories and they list it as containing 30mgs of Morphine in a regular release formulation, so it is neither time released, nor instant release. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything I can help with? ## Hey this is Sunshine, the reason I was asking about the round white pill with the following, was I have always been use to the small purple 30mg extended release. When I got my prescription they were the small w...

Morphine sulfate oral solution..... 100mg per 5ml How much shoud be taken to ease chronic back pain? ## From what I could gather, patients who have not been receiving opioid analgesics should be started on morphine sulfate in the following dosing range: Morphine Sulfate Oral Solution: 10 to 20 mg every 4 hours as needed for pain. "The dose should be titrated based upon the individual patient's response to their initial dose of morphine sulfate. This dose can then be adjusted to an acceptable level of analgesia taking into account the improvement in pain intensity and the tolerability of the morphine by the patient." I know it's not a direct answer but everyone responds to these drugs differently, so it's probably wise to just give it a trial run at a specific dosage ...

little white round pill with a split on one side and on the other reads 54 over 242. What is this? ## well if they are the same pills my brother takes that has the same marks then the pill is a morphine sulfate 30g. ## Dustin is correct, but the marking is meant to be 54 over 262 and it is manufactured by Roxane Laboratories. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Can you please double check the imprint and post back?

My doctor prescribed 15mg morphine with me also taking alprazolam..but he wasn't clear on how far apart I should take them..the morphine is every 12hrs and the alprazolam is 2mg at night. But that runs into the morphine schedule so how long do I wait to take my alprazolam. I cannot sleep without my alprazolam! ## There is really no specific time frame, but taking them together may cause more side effects, such as dizziness, nausea, and drowsiness, according to FDA reports. It is also reported that they both carry the risk of being habit forming. If you feel more comfortable and your doctor approves, it should be okay to change the time you are taking one of them. Are you on any other medications?

My husband has a history of back pain since 1985. He has had 3 back surgeries, epidural injections and 2 spinal column stimulator implants. His last surgery in 2006 was quite successful. He was on 180 mg of Avinza and percocet for breakthrough pain. He has gradually reduced his medication to 30 mg twice daily of morphine sulphate and has maintained this dosage for 2 years. We have been patients of this primary care group for 25 years. The doctor that we both had been patients of retired, so we now see another MD from the same group. I see a different MD from this group than my husband. The reason being that I do not care for this D.O. that my husband sees. He has been seeing him for approx a year. He had always been given a prescription for a 3 months supply. About 6 months ago the D.O....

I am prescribed morphine sulfate for chronic pain. I take 120 mg daily. Now I am laid off and have drug tests to pass. I was hired but then not hired because of the test results. Even after offering to stop taking my meds, I was not hired. Now I have another job opportunity. How long will the meds show up if I quit? Can I speed up the cleansing process? Thank You for any advice! ## Except for in certain very rare cases, such as being an airline pilot, or a CDL driver, they cannot refuse to hire you due to the medications you are taking, even if they are narcotics, as long as you have a legal prescription for them. You simply have to inform them that you are taking it and have a prescription, when you go in for testing, though they do have the right to verify it with your doctor, if nece...
