Is a light yellow round pill that says 271 and has a half of a moon on the other side a morphine ???? I reallly need to know !! ## Yes it's suppose to be a 30mg Morphine Sulfate Extended Release. I have taken them for a month now and I bearly feel it working. This medication from Actavis sucks big time. My sleep has suffered along with more pain and I feel like I'm withdrawing. If anyone else has felt the same please let me know so I can get my doctor to change to some other manufacturer. The purple 30mg worked great but my pharmacy doesn't carry them anymore. Hey, I recently had an MRI on my back which showed about 5 bulging & messed up disks in my back, also I have early onset of R.A that runs in my family. My PCP said that he would not be the doctor to get me hooked on morphine at 27yrs old, so he wants me to go to a pain management doctor to start inj's. I can't afford the inj's. ($800 per inj.) and I'm not wanting morphine. I take kadian 100ml for pain. Sometimes I run out a day or 2 early because of unbearable pain and I have to take hydromorphone. The thing is that kadian is a sulphate and hydromorphone isn't and I get urine tested. What should I do? ## Claude, That will not work if you took hydromorphone (dilaudid) that will show up in your urine screen. Even if you tried to use a rapid flush you run the risk of ELIMINATING the presence of the kadian as well which would be far worse for testing negative you'd most likely be dismissed since they would think your diverting kadian Your pretty much in a very bad spot. There can be slight fluctuations in generic medications and the inactive ingredients can be completely different, so you may be sensitive to any change in the dosage, or to an inactive filler of some type. Ive been taking Hydrocodone/Tylenol 10/325 for a long time, to Morphine 15mg. Am I supposed to keep taking the Hydro. With the Morphine ?? ## Hello, Sheila! How are you? I found information online last night that the Roxane Labs 30 mg, morphine sulfate, imprint 54 262, with scored line on other side is a time released medication, with common usage of every 12 hours. A friend of mine got a prescription of this exact med and the directions are to take 1/2 to 1 pill every 4 hours. Also, there were no warning labels on the bottle regarding not breaking or chewing this med. If this med is time released is he not in danger by breaking the pill in order to only take half? ## Any time one breaks or crushes a time release medication they are altering the way the dosage is delivered. My doctor changed my meds from Morphine 80 mgs tid to 50 mgs oxycodone tid along with liquid 5 mgs as required. Why would she do this? I had lymphoma. ## I am sorry, but only your doctor can answer that question. I ran out of my hydromorphone and have taken morphine sulfate from my sister 30mg. I have to only have Diladid in my system will it show up the morphine that is. I just had a drug test that came back positive for morphine even though I have never taken morphine. Can paregoric or gralisse show up as a false positive? ## Paragoric IS morphine, its made from opium, so if you've been on Paragoric, you HAVE taken Morphine. I had a massive headache/migraine and was admitted to the ER Friday afternoon, dosed with morphine around 5 pm and again around 7pm prior to discharge to home. The great thing is that this awful headache resolved within about 6 hours of the last dose; it was the worst I ever had, after two weeks of stiff neck and dull headaches. I will be following up with a neurologist due to my prior history of cervical fusion surgery and rotator cuff tear in left shoulder, and now, evidence of nerve damage or rotator involvement in the right shoulder. I rarely take pain meds because I don't like the way they make me feel; I have managed pain before with tramadol 50 mg. Since when did the pharmacies override a doctor's prescription to get a person's prescription refilled 1 day early? They call it the two day rule. The size of 1 30 mg pill is the shape of a little tiny chip and they are red. You can just touch one with your two fingers and it can go on the floor or go flying across the room! Even if you don't abuse them you can still come up short. The pharmacy will not fill them 1 day early without an OK TO REFILL THEM EARLY. All pharmacies in my area have such strict policies and being 57 yrs old and being on them for years, it can put you in withdrawal! Why don't the drug manufacturers make them bigger for us elder people to manage them better? I have a great doctor who takes good care of me and I still have to get an OK just because ...

Everyone who is on pain medicine for chronic pain, we need to do something about our medicine being cut to almost NOTHING due to all the people that abuse and combine other drugs and end up overdosing. The ones of us that do not abuse our drugs, we need them to have some quality of life is slowly being stripped from us. We need to get together and find out whom to get in touch with, because WE are being punished for the other's that are abusing them! I could go on an on an get madder an madder, I won't.
