Has anyone had hair loss after taking Mobic?
Re: Lisa (# 1)
I started taking mleoxicam/Monica several months ago and noticed tons and tons of hair loss. Every time i combed or brushed my hair it was shedding like crazy!! Initially my hair stylist thought it may be due to stress but when i started looking at the timeline of when i started the medication and when the hair loss started it seemed to line up!
I have been on Mobic for 8 months, I will be bald if I continue this medication, it helps my arthritis enormously, how ever I want my hair. Does anyone have any suggestions, some days I feel as though I can't walk unless Itake this hair remover
Yes, I have! I took a week of keflex, after a foot surgery, and one mobic, two months later. My surgery was early November. It took two months before it started burning my scalp and falling out. It seems to have stopped. Get some organics coconut milk shampoo and conditioner. And pure aloe. Make sure there's no additives, like alcohol. Put it on root to tip. Leave it on until it dry. I know it's next to impossible, but try not to stress. I did this and it pretty much stopped. Your hair went into, what's called sleep phase. It's doing it too early, because your vitamin b is wiped out from the mobic. New hair comes in in a normal cycle occurs. But nsaid's and antibiotics, jack it up. It's a night mare. But you won't go bald. It will think out. Receed around your temples. Mine was limp and flat for a couple weeks after, but it got Fuller. Hang in there. I try not to think about it, keep busy, watch movies, I don't stress as much. Try not to smoke, if you're a smoker. Cuts oxygen needed to reach follicles. Good luck. You'll be ok. I was scared to death to. It shed about two weeks. Start treating your hair right away. Shampoo and conditioner are easy to find. Walmart, Vons. It's a God send. Ok. Take care.
Re: Lisa (# 3)
Hi my white cell count went up, after just one dose. Lost a lot of hair to. Anyway, I've had blotch like brown spots. Pain in my lower right side of tummy. Swelling under one and cheek bone. Bloated, more so after I eat. Doctor thinks I have a UTI infection. But it doesn't hurt to pee. Anyone else experience similar symptoms?
Re: Happy at last (# 66)
I took it for almost a year. My hair didn't start falling out until the end. I stopped taking it immediately. 20 months later it is finally slowing down.
Re: linda (# 2)
Yes. STOP! You won't have any hair left. I lost half of mine off just one mobic pill. Get a pain killer like Norco.
Re: MC (# 29)
Yes. My head's in a vice. Stop before your hair falls out. It took at least a month before it started. So don't be fooled.
Re: Coopie (# 35)
Can make your hair fall out to. I'm sticking to Norco. I Google everything now.
Re: Laney (# 40)
It's real bad! Vote no! I'm losing my hair from just one mobic pill
Re: Linda (# 41)
They always deny it's the drug. They blamed it on stress. And lack of nutrition. Nope. It's the mobic.
Re: Lisa (# 5)
Google it. You won't find out from your doctor. Just type the drug and side effects. Or type side effect your worried about, then the drug, it's the only way to to get the truth.
Re: Mplayer34 (# 44)
Doctors never warn about any drugs. They are supposed to. By the inform, consent, and understand law. I research everything now, before I take it.this stuff can make you fat, and bloated. Steroids can to. Especially avoid oral steroids. Seraquil is really bad for weight gain to. Anti depressants. It's crazy.
Re: Mplayer34 (# 50)
Jesus, how long were you taking it? That's awful.
Re: Monica (# 47)
Whatever you try next, you better Google it. I'm discovering lots of drugs can cause it. Even depression meds.
Re: Linda (# 45)
Was the shedding lot less after the first week of it?
Re: Eli (# 48)
That's the same answer I can't find. Everyone stops at different times. So what do I base it on? I only took one, and I'm in trouble. Eating lots of salmon and spinach kale asparagus broccoli. It's good for your hair. Massage my scalp. Stimulates follicles.
Re: Kat (# 52)
Me too. Stress supposedly makes it worse. So, this crap causes anxiety, and your hairs falling out. And your supposed to relax? Yeah right.
Re: Pierre (# 53)
If you're smart you won't take any. It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Unless you want to look like Shanade O'Connor.
Re: Barb (# 38)
Celebrex can cause it to.staying away from all of it. I took one dose, Dec 15 the of mobic, a week ago, half mine was gone. I've been drenching my scalp and hair with fresh aloe. You can buy a slab of it at Walmart, for two bucks. I leave it on for hours. It's softer and fuller. But I still feel burning sensations, different spots, different times. I also use Organics coconut milk shampoo and conditioner. It's been about eight days since shedding started. It's now February 9th. Biggest nightmare ever. I'm thinking about writing an article about this to the paper. People have a right to know. Doctor's aren't about to inform you. I have the name of the manufacturer too. I'm going to call and put them on blast. This has made me a nervous wreck. Don't use rogaine or steroids unless it's really bad. It causes more hair loss before it starts regrowth. It's all bad.
Re: Lisa (# 1)
I have the answer. I finally figured it out! I'm so happy I want to share it. Buy aloe gel. Make sure it's 100 percent aloe. Some have alcohol and other stuff. Even better, buy an aloe plant at Walmart. Squeeze the juice out, I just gelled it. Your hair can be dry, massage it into your scalp root to tip. I put a cap on it, to absorb it in my scalp better. Let it dry, if you keep it on all night, even better. You don't have to wear a cap, but cover your pillow with a towel. In the morning rinse. Wash with coconut milk and shampoo and conditioner. I did it for two days. It stopped and it didn't look limp anymore. This shampoo and conditioner made it look full feel soft and silky again. Eat fatty oils too. Salmon, avocado, tuna. Leafy stuff. Spinach, kale, asparagus, etc for just two days. I swear on a stack of Bible's it works! Get on it. Good luck. Do this, no luck needed.
