Miralax & Heartburn

Hi, I have been taking Miralax for 4 years and never had a stomach problem. I eat the same thing pretty much everyday because I am a diabetic, and have not taken any new meds. The last few days though immediately after taking 2 tsp's with 10oz of water as usual, at the usual time in small sips, I got heart burn. Last week I chugged the whole 10oz down as usual and in the pit of my stomach I had very bad cramping, so when I started sipping it down I did not get cramping, but got the bad heartburn.

It is possible for almost anything to cause heartburn. Other side effects may include nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, according to FDA reports.

How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?

Hi, thanks for the reply. Well, I tried chugging down 2 tsp of miralax again for a week and the same muscle spasm in the solar plexus of my stomach happen again twice, sipping just causes heartburn in the throat and sour stomach. That stomach pain feels like a heart attack, I have had two so I know the feeling, but this only lasts for about 4 or 5 minutes and goes away. I am going to see my gastroenterologist and have him take a look in my belly. He wants me to see my heart Dr first because of my symptoms, I also get a pain in my neck and jaw, this is all on the right side. I was on Mayo Clinic and the pain in the stomach, jaw and neck are consistent with acid reflux and only happens when I chug down the miralax, so really not concerned about the heart. I really need the miralax or I would stop it.
