I started taking LoestrinFe 24 about 3 weeks ago. For the first few days I noticed I was incredibly fatigued and that my migraines (I already have chronic migraines) were increasing in numbers and intensity. I skipped one pill because I wanted to discontinue use. I complained to my gyno about this and told him I didn't wish to keep up with the Loestrin and he told me to continue with the pill. Since then the bleeding has not stopped even though I have no missed a pill in the past 2 and a half weeks. Is there anything I can do to make this bleeding stop? I have NEVER had this problem with BC and I have to admit I'm pretty shocked my gyno would want me on a pill with so many issues. ## It doesn't cause these issues for everyone that uses it, but from the various posts we'v...

Is depakote similar to neurontin? Can an individual just abruptly stop taking this mood stabilizer because they feel they don't need it without replacing it with something else? Does this cause weight gain? ## They both treat the same types of conditions and no, you shouldn't stop either one abruptly, because it could create the risk of seizures. Stopping one doesn't usually cause weight gain, but it can be a side effect of taking them. Other side effects may include nausea, mood swings and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Just needing to know if Depakote and Neurontin work basically the same? I realize neither should be stopped abruptly. But, my question is, do they both work in the same ways? ## These are two different compounds that work in two entire...

I am male, 40yrs old, having urinary issues since 2009. I started with frequent urination which then led to irritation, pain and difficulty to pass urine. I have undergone urodynamics (found poor flow, suspected detrusor muscles dysfunction) and was given medications. Becoming worse, I had gone in for a sonography, CT scan which found no issues with my prostate and kidneys. Then a cystoscopy, bladder distention performed, even treated for interstitial cystitis, no improvement. Later an inj. of Botox was administered inside the bladder, but still no improvement. Then rectal dilation was done to relax the sphincter muscle, but nothing helped. Now I have some new issues: I can't defecate easily, I feel the pain in my rectal region for hours and at the same time I have pain in my urethr...

These caps are expensive. Made in cap form & only difference in dosage is that the APAP in caps is 300 mg vs the APAP in tab form is 325 mg. Any info on coupons for the caps? I've tried a lot of the coupons & still remain $70 to $100 for 60. My Dr has written them specifically for TABLET form but the pharmacy said they are only carrying the caps. Thanks so much. ## CVS in NH always, always has the tablets. I’ve been taking this for years and have never been given a capsul. If you have AAA (for your car) a lot of chain pharmacies will have a good discount if you show them the card. My $90 Adderall prescription was only $30 and my pharmacist told me someone got a $900 pet prescription for $90. It’s worth a try. Just make sure you print the discount card from AAA...

White oblong tablet with flat sides from Abott has HF print ## Abbott list this tablet as being a 250mg Depakote ER tablet, which contains the active ingredient Divalproex, it is most commonly used to prevent seizures, but may also help with some mood disorders. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Have used generic Fioricet from Qualitest for quite some time. They helped with migraines. Now all of a sudden my pharmacy is using Watson-the blue pill and I cannot take them. They make me nauseous and do nothing for the pain. There is a difference in manufacturers. Anyone else have this problem or a solution. ## Yes, there can sometimes be differences in the substances in medications from one manufacturer to another. Unfortunately, some people are very sensitive to these differences and end up with medications that will not work for them. The only real solution would be to ask the pharmacy if they can get the other ways back in stock for you or call around to other pharmacies to see if they carry it. Are you doing any better, yet? ## Have called around to different pharmacies but they...

for migranes ## needing to know what this drug pheranol is all about , i have severe migranes and have suffered for 6 years now , please help ## I think the medication being asked about might be Fiorinal. It is listed as containing Acetaminophen, Caffeine, and Butalbital, and it is commonly used to treat migraines, and tension headaches. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, sedation, and drowsiness. Does that ring a bell to either of you? There is also a formulation available that contains Codeine, which carries the risk of being habit forming.

I have these white circular pills which are blank on the one side and on the other it has a line splitting it in half with a S on the one half and a 4 on the other half. Does anyone know what they are? ## what you got there is co codimal containing 8 mg codein and 500 mg parecetamol which is available as an over the counter medicine ## I concur that this is a co-codamol; white, circular, about 12mm diameter, 3 or 4mm thick, blank on one side, a split line on the other which separates an 'S' and a '4', 8mg codeine and 500mg paracetamol - as I am holding a pack of them just now from a UK pharmacist. ## They’re co-codamol. For sure. I’m a pharmacist. It’s the only thing they could be. ## I found a white round pill with S 4 on it. Can you tell me what it is?

I take Fioricet with codeine for headaches. However, my doctor prescribed oxycodone 10mg for menstrual cramps. Can I take the oxycodone 4 hours after the Fioricet? ## Generally, it is best not to combine opiates, unless your doctor specifically has told you to do so. Was this doctor aware that you are already taking one? The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache.

Has anyone had Botox injections for eye twiching? I have and they did not use numbing while injecting into my eye lids and surrounding eyes. I was wondering why they can not numb the area? ## I have. I don't know why they can use anything to numb it. But the pain is worth making the eye twitch stop. I'd tried everything: calcium, magnesium, potassium, saw a neurologist. Only the shots worked. ## The doctor told me that numbing would hurt worse than the shot. So I just pinch myself and don't look. I've had to get the shots every 5. -6 months for a year and a half because the eye twitch comes back. We are hoping eventually the muscle will stop on it's own. I took topirimate for a few months at a low dose a couple years ago. Then I stopped ## I don't know if my insu...

Hi, Just thought I'd let everyone know the best thing to take for migraines.. I'm currently on the bupap 50 mlg and they do work BUT if u want something very effective without all the acetaminophen in it try IMMITREX. It works wonders . When I was on it, I only had to take one and I have headaches everyday and migraines often. Hope this helps . -Bri ## I've taken every medication under the sun for my migraines. Maxaly always used to do the trick until it just stopped working. My MD loaded me with topamax, verapimrl, despite etc. I did the in house treatment of the DHE infusion. Botox. You name it. Had my deviated septum fixed and that stopped them for quite some time!!! I now take indomethacin (diff dises) as well as my imitrex injection for my thigh but it doesn't seem ...

My doctor prescribed me pontalon 500mg, 1 tablet 3 times a day for my migraine for 4 days. Is it to stop the pain or to cure? ## Pontalon contains the active ingredient Mefenamic Acid, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it is given to help treat and prevent the pain. Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness and stomach irritation. Learn more: Are there any other questions? ## Two days after taking Pontalon, I took a blood test. My creatinine was high compared to my previous test in March this year; is this due to Pontalon? Will Pontalon affect my kidneys or cause any renal problem? ## Is it alright for me to take pantalon and besaterc at the same time? ## I was prescribed a ponstan by my OB–GYNE, to treat my prolonged menstrual period. The pharmacist gave me pontalon sa...

Have been put on a 2 week course of 25mg for migraine and then will be upped to 50 mg. The problem is that I just started the 25mg course and find that I am constantly eating (which is odd cos I thought loss of appetite was supposed ot be a side-effect), have a constant light sort of migraine on one side (not the killer one I get that drops me for a few days at a time) am feeling sorta pms'ish although it isn't that time of the month. Also my face is breaking out really badly. Could this be cos of the Toplep? ## My 14 yr old son suffers from migraines quite badly. I was wondering if Toplep/Topirimate would be beneficial? Maddy ## Prae, have you consulted your doctor? Those aren't listed as common side effects, though it is always hard to know how a medication may affect any ...

I am on FIORINAL,, 4 times a day, or severe muscular contraction headaches which can escalate into a migraine if it is not treated. I have been on them since I was 16 years old and now I am 36.. Sometimes I wake up in the night with a very severe one and end up having to use a fourth one to get some relief, tho' I am still not able to get back to sleep. This really wears on me as I can loose as much as 4 hours sleep, then go to work. I am having to look for another job due to severely cut hours and I need to know if I present a physician's note and talk to a supervisor at the company, will take that into account? Will they inform my potential employer and would they hold that against me? As I said, I have been on it since I was 16 (tho' I try not to take it at work) and you ...

I had gotten a prescription for fioricet with codeine back in December of 2014..... there were 30 pills and I was supposed to take 2 tablets a day. I'm not a pill person so I only took them AS NEEDED...... I still have half a script left n actually took one 2 days ago for a MAJOR headache (which is why they were prescribed). I have a hair drug test coming up for a job position in a factory. Will this count against me to where I don't get the job? ## I'm sorry, it was December 2015 they were prescribed ## A hair drug test is meant to show consistent use over time. A 1.5 inch sample of hair, cut at the scalp line, will go back 90 days. The fioricet most likely will not show up on a hair drug test as not many labs test for it. From what you described my gut feeling is that the ...

How many hours should I wait after taking midrin before I take gabapentin and tramadol? ## There is really no set time frame, but you should be aware that combining these medications that can cause depression of the central nervous system, could cause you to experience more nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness than usual. In some cases, especially if a person has underlying health conditions, the FDA warns that these issues could be fatal. Have they all been prescribed for you?
