Midrin Where Can I Get It (Page 4)

I have been taking Midrin for the past 10 years for migraines because I don't get any side effects from it and it works really well. Now all of a sudden the pharmacies in my area (3 of them) are saying that they can't get any or it is on backorders for the past 3 months. Do they still make it? I tried a different medication and it makes me really dissy so I really need to know how to get the Midrin. How can I get a presecription filled and where even in the mail would be ok.
I live in Washington, DC and Since midrin was taken off market I have been in misery. Everything else has too many side effects. I've been hearing talk of an equivalent Med. Is it available now in DC, MD OR VA?
Keep us posted where is your location what state are you in?
I would love to be able to get Midrin again
I was actually given Midrin in the hospital about a week or two ago. Then I asked my doctor to precscribe it and she did. My Pharmacy (not a compounding pharmacy) has it!! Ready!! Yes - today I will find out how much it will cost. I know. I'm in shock! I will tell you if there is a catch but this is in USA... And it is the Realy, old fashioned actual Midrin. Prodrin made me so dizzy that I had to crawl, so I had to stop taking it ( although it did get rid of my headache ) I have been depending on Sumatriptan since Midrin has been gone. I'll follow up with whatever happened when I go to the Pharmacy today. Wish me luck!!
I did get the generic Midrin, and have since had refills too. CVS is where I got it. I don't think it was compounded because they ordered it from their supply warehouse and it came the next day before 2:00pm. I had never used it before and am now in love with it!! LOL
Apothecary Pharmacies (compounding) makes the Midrin for me. They were using a substitute for the Dichloralphenazone USP, but are now able to also get that drug. However the substitute is a "faster acting" agent, so I have not requested that the Dichloralphenazone USP be used due to the extra cost.
Please let me know if you really do get Midrin I've been looking for it for a couple years
My neurologist just Rx'd Midrin for me today (7/9/13) and my pharmacy (CVS) called to tell me that they have to order it but it will be ready for me tomorrow. I will be getting the generic formula - but am excited that this is available again as both my daughter and I use it.
Health and Wellness Compounding Pharmacy in Nashville, TN has been making it for me for months now. They're great to work with and accept all manner of insurance. Look them up if you're having trouble elsewhere.
They no longer are able to get it. Seems it is not being made anymore.
great job
Macoven Pharm in Texas is making a generic.I understand it can be gotten with perscription. Isometh/Dich/Ap
Update: Found out today that generic Midrin is no longer available, so my pharmacist is foisting Prodrin on me, via my doctor. I really hope this works. I've been taking Midrin for three years now, along with Topamax, which still gives me 3-4 migraines a week, so Midrin is very important to me. The triptans never did anything for me at all, and fiorcet just made me loopy as heck. I hope to all that is good and well that this Prodrin works for me. Wish me luck all and wish us all luck that Midrin becomes available again soon. Here's to a pain free day!

I have been a migraine sufferer for almost 30 years and have tried everything. Midrin is the only thing that has always worked for me with no side effects. I have a 2 year old with severe medical needs, I have to stay aware at all times in case he quits breathing. Midrin does not dull my senses or knock me out like other meds do. I literally cried when it went off the market. It definitely affects my quality of life. Midrin needs to be available always!
The NDC is 44183-0440-01. You can obtain from any Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS or Target. Product name is Isometh/Dichlor/APAP.
It is put out by Macoven Pharmaceuticals. You can alsod o an internet seach for a compounding pharmacy who has the correct ingredients to compound this for you.
Please, please put Midrin back on the market. It is the only drug that prevents me from going into a migraine. Does anyone know if they are considering putting it on the market again
I've been a migraine suffer for 30 years. In all the years of treatments and strategies, midrine is the only medication that seems to realize my pain within hours. I can sleep it off and wake up with no pain. I tried all the other stuff the doctors recommend and nothing compares to the midrine. A few years ago I was told that It was not manufactured anymore and so I have been stuck with fighting the pain each month until its so bad I have to check into urgent care. How horrible to be in so much pain to go to urgent care for strong pain injections! Midrine works and is safer for me then strong pain injections. Please would someone please put it back on the market!
I have used Midrin for about 2 years now and it is wonderful. I was switched from Imitrex because of chest pain. It typically only takes the initial dose of 2 pills and my migraine is relieved. Please keep Midrin on the market!
Oh brilliant, thank you! I checked with 4-5 wal-marts today, and no one has it. Same for CVS, Kroger, and rite-aid. I'll try contacting the Pharm company tomorrow.
