I have been taking this medication for 7 days and off of it since a week and still have severe side effects, abdominal cramps, severe headaches, dizziness, unsteadiness... How long is it expected to last? It was prescribed with Ciprofloxacin to me and I take Entrophen on a regular basis...

I took metronidazole for seven days. I started feeling a tingling sensation in my arms and feet. It's been a week and I still feel this sensation.

The best advice I can give you. Is don't google. Even though google probably helped you get to this page. Be patient it will go away. Try to go on walks keep healthy and stay positive and your dr will probably not believe you but we have had similar side effects. I am still dealing with mine 8 weeks on. But there are days when they dissappear.

Just think positive.

Agree and Disagree about google-- and, also, it does NOT go away for all and has NOTHING to do with positive thinking. I had no thought that this would be something that was permanent. For the first two years, I was SURE this would heal. Five years later, I still live with the pain and side effects. Some do recover and some live in pain. If I had not reached out to some that helped me, I would have thought I was alone in this. I found support, articles for my drs., and keep up with researching for a cure. Are there times people go too far--YES--but it can be helpful as well. Key is to not fall into the hole of giving up on it all. Stay strong, informed, and know that drs. are NOT the answer. Although there are a few that are dealing with the side effects as well. Just wanted to state this so that no all that use google are labeled as falling into a path of despair. Some use it for medical purposes when drs. list us a crazy and pain in our head even though there is medical proof such as white matter, and NO MS, nerve damage, and more.

I took pliva 334 on january 30,2015. 4 pills one day only. 5 days after started with acid indigestion, nausea, headaches and start peeing frequently. I am the only one that is been peeing frequently?

So I was prescribed with this medication for a oral infection under 3 of my teeth and had to get bone grafting. I was suppose to take it for 10 days 3 times a day. After about the 3rd day I started feeling weird light headed and unfocused. So I told my doctor and he recommended I keep taking it. So I did after day 7 I started having g severe headaches, sore throat hard time standing and blurred foggy vision. I have been off the medication for 1 day not and the effects are getting worse. What should I do??

Hi Chris,

It is a nasty nasty drug, which can linger in your system and cause extremely nasty side effects. Try to detox the healthy way as soon as possible.

Try to keep calm, it can also cause severe anxiety.

Guys. It is time for us to band together for this. So many of us have been tortured by these deadly antibiotics and we need to do something so more people aren't hurt. {edited for privacy}. Let's beat these drugs and the companies who dish them out like candy. Justice will be served!!

Hey guys I'm scared, though. I just took 3x 500mg Metro for the first time yesterday for a parasite and already I'm experiencing symptoms. Doctor basically ignored me. This is seriously disturbing, I hope 1500 mg won't affect me for life... I will NEVER take again. I'm thinking we need to collectively rise up to stop this madness...

To all who are hopeless:

A person who calls herself Dgirl ealier on in this discussion said that going to Dr. Neal Nathan's clinic in California has helped her make a full recovery within 3 months. She says the doctor prescribed her Cholestyramine, which worked wonders. If you're struggling, desperate, and ready to go to any lengths for victory over this- try that clinic.

Another person, BigTex, has taken Activated Charcoal with repeated Sauna therapy and has seen results.

A few things to try:
1. Visit Dr. Neal Nathan's clinic in California
2. Take Cholestyramine
3. Take Activated Charcoal with frequent Sauna trips.

Hi Chris, this medication is very powerful in its side effects. I still remember when I took it in November 2014 the terrrible thoughts of despair, horrible nightmares and metallic taste...but thank God I got better little by little...
The side effect that ligered the most (at least for me) was the lower back pain. It was really bad. But even that went away too. So there IS hope!!!... Prayers for all of you taking this antibiotic. I wouldn't wish this medicine on my worst enemy.

There are a number of support groups for these conditions online. There are also a number of local news reports coming out covering the damage these drugs have done to us. MD's are clueless. We have to educate THEM.

My prayers go out to all of you affected by this horrid medication. I took metronidazole 3 times a day for a week and it made me terribly ill, I stopped it yesterday and I am up with my bloated stomach and have not been to the toilet in 3 days, has anyone else suffered with constipation? Ty

Hey Cesar thanks that's make me feel a little better I have been of this medication for about 3 weeks now and still having the burning in the legs anxiety and headache comes and goes but I think slowly I'm getting better

I took metronidazle starting 26/01/15 for gastroenteritis. after two days I stopped because it was making me worse. when my parents found out I stopped they told me to continue a few days later. I was no longer consistent with taking the doses. now in march I feel weak in my muscles and have a mild headache. also losing weight too and this is so frustrating because im an athlete. I feel hopeless!

Same thing happened to me. I'm an athlete and I can know longer exercise. I stopped the meds 3 weeks ago and my symptoms haven't gotten any better, they've only gotten worse, and I've lost 20 pounds. My next move is to fly up to California to see Stephen Danielson, he seems to know exactly what is going on.
