Hi I am 67 years, recently I had a stoke for high BP Dr. advised me with the following tablets. Can you tell me why these tablets are taken, side effects. I've been on metoprolol for about 2 months now went to er for anxiety and of coarse my bp was high they put me on metoprolol but im on lisinopril 10 mgs a day since taking metoprolol I've felt awful just sluggish and weak tired aanxiety up can't eat ot sleep just so tired I quit taking it yesterday none today the doctor said I could any more info this please reply ## Hello, Tammie! Neobloc is the maintenance of my hbp... is it possible that i can used any generic for this? coz generic is cheaper than the branded. ## Can i take neoblock tablets 100 mg w/o doctors advice?my BP is 200/127 and im 35 yrs old.. ## WHATS THE SIDE EFFECT TO TAKE NEOBLOC? ## Base on my experience with Metoprolol, side effects are headache and dizziness (when getting up quickly from laying or sitting). If you experience those side effects, report to your doctor immediately (which I failed to do). Well I have taking Metoprolol Neobloc for over 3 weeks and I am not feeling a good difference of it from Propranolol. Mine is a secondary hypertension tho.

I have been taking metoprolol tart 25mg twice a day. My heart feels like its racing n my blood pressure always high. I started taking metoprolol 25mg. Half in morning and half at night.3 weeks ago for tachycardia brought on by anxiety, ekg normal, chest xray normal, cbc normal, last couple of days i wake up at night to my heart pounding and sometimes a chest pain that comes and then is gone just that fast, i woke up and checked my resting pulse to be up to 115 to 120, then goes back down after a few minutes,bp normal. kind of scary why would this be happening, also went to hospital a week ago for stomach pains, did a ct scan with contrast and was told i was constipated. could this be related? never had this problem before, and no treatment is helping it. please let me know. ## Hello, Karen! I've been taking METOPROLOL TARTRATE 50MG tablets, white, round, with # 477 from Walgreens. Recently switched to Walmart and transferred prescription. The Walmart pill is pink, round with # C74. I am currently taking A- "METOPROLOL ER 25MG TAB WAT". & I want to change med. insurance & the close's they got for my medication is B- "METOPROLOL & HYROCHLOROTHTAZIDE 100MG- 25MG,,, 50MG-25. Hi, I am a 56 year old male in fairly good shape, prob 20 lbs overweight. I've been walking and biking lately trying to get healthier... i had bp slowly creeping up over the years..finally doc convinced me to start 25 mg Metoprolol er about 4 years ago ...didnt help bp...he said Metoprolol is not the best bp med but i was a bit anxious. he thought it would help both things. bp still 2 high so he changed to 50 mg about 3 years ago. bp even worse...doc retired. went to new doc 2 years ago he added 20 mg lisinopril and bp perfect ever since. now here is the twist...well on just Metoprolol i was having racing heart...for ex wake up from nightmare heart racing FAST...have to pace about for like 20 min....drink soda, finally burp and heart back to normal...i was always taking pulse always...

After Angioplasty, I was advised to take METLOC ER-25 ("metoprolol succinate er 25") - one daily in the morning. Now, they are going to conduct MPI (Stress test) in a day or two. Doctor advised me stop taking this "metoprolol succinate er 25" - 72 hrs before the stress test. Because of that I am feeling (a) slight headache (b) pain in chest (c) giddyness - at times. Is it OK? This is second day (after stopping the tablet). ## Balu just checking other postings on Metoprolol. It has been way over a year since your post. Wondering how the test went for you!! I cannot believe you were told to stop taking it without some weaning off it! It can have bad rebounds with blood pressure to say the least! I follow another thread here v on the same drug.

I take metoprolol tart 50mg 1 1/2 tabs daily and I also take Losartan/HCTZ 100-25mg 1 tab daily. I forgot to take my Losartan after lunch and now it is almost suppertime, when can I take the Losartan? ## You should take it as soon as you remember, unless it's into the next day and time for the next dose, then you should skip the missed one, unless your doctor instructs otherwise. I been on metoprolol for 2 half weeks. I had know side effects until 5 days ago. I started have dizzyness and was very tried. My dr. told me to cut it in half once a day and now I'm lightheaded all day and still tired. I don't know if this normal or not but can someone help!!! My husband is having problems with no for the past couple of months.. He has hypertension ranging from 170/110 to 150/90...he was given metoprolol 25 by the doc .. But yesterday he started feeling very restless towards the evening and was sweating badly and there was uneasiness in the body .. I was prescribed this medicine back in december. I have been taking it faithfully. I am a 46 yr old woman with no prior heart problems. I was placed on this medication for hypertension. I take 1 pill daily at night only. I have alot of the common side effects ie: fatigue, diaharrea, chills, night sweats, yellowing eyes, hair loss and mental and mood changes.
