Metoprolol Withdrawal (Page 57)

Updated

i've been taking metoprolol for several years as partial treatment for high blood pressure. through diet and exercise, i've lowered my BP to the point my doctor says drop the metoprolol.

i did, 3 days ago, and i'm soooo tired, dizzy, irritable, and my vision is blurred.

is this withdrawal? how long will it last?

i remember starting this medication was terrible to get used to. it appears that stopping it is just as bad.

When will this end..anxiety is through the roof today and I don't know why? By the way how are you all handling this and working at the same time. I fear I may lose my job if I don't get better soon.

My anxiety goes up alot its horrible. I feel alot of physical side effects of anxiety . All i do is hold on and try to breath . Thats all you can do sometimes but if you feel the need to go to hospital just go . Better safe than sorry .

I have been working full time during all this and honestly I'm not sure how. It's been HORRIBLE. The tincture has made all the difference as far as managing the symptoms. Today has NOT been good. Wonky headed.

Me too Lauren and my performance has not been great the last two months. Adding my worry about work with the chronic anxiety is making me nuts. I wish this was over.

Hey Lauren and JR how has your appetite been through this? I usually had a strong appetite but it seems over this withdrawal period my appetite will go away for days sometimes a week and then return for a day or two.

Nothing at the moment, I don't want to be on any Meds. Got another question for you all, do you find that if you exert yourself one day that the symptoms get worse for a few days after?

I slacked off the tincture for a few days because it made me feel so terrible in the beginning when I started it. It kinda scared me off. Going to take a dose here in a min and try again.

Does the tinture really help you ? I have been struggling with the anxiety and been wanting to give the tinture a try to see if it helps but right taking my antibiotics because of this terrible cold . After i get better i might give it a try

I think it did help with anxiety but had a few other side effects I didnt like.

I found that the tincture works best at a medium dose, it makes me too sleepy at anything higher than 15 drops, so I take a larger dose at night, 25 drops at bedtime, then 15 drops around 4am, 15 more noonish. It really shuts down that physical crawling anxiety response. I had to force myself to eat in the thick of things off tincture, doc said protein and tons of water every 2-3 hrs, have less issues with tincture tamping off anxiety
The lower doses of tincture as needed did not produce the consistent coverage, and made me feel stranger than the regular every 8 hr doses. You couldn't pay me enough to take lexapro, the withdrawal from that is brutal and very very prolonged. Look it up. Horrid. Use a natural tincture or supp yes, no big pharma drama anymore for me.
