Methylprednisolone Tablets Usp 4 Mg Side Effects (Page 2)
UpdatedWhat are the possible side effects of Methylprednisolone 4mg tablets?
The 4 MG MethylPREDNISolne tablets that I have expired in April 2013.
Are they still OK to take. I really don't have time to get to the doctor today
Is there a wrong way to take these? I started at the wrong end.
I am so sorry that you are going through this. Read my post, it does get better but it took my like 5 months to get back to normal. I am still dealing with anxious feelings and slight depression here and there. I hope it all will go away. If you're a spiritual person, I recommend praying and talking it out. Talking about it helps! I hope you get back to being your old self soon. It really sucks, detox helps also.
Omg! I'm so sorry to hear that! Geez, yes I have felt your pain. I am doing much better thank you, I still have slight anxious feelings here and there but I am able to control it unlike before. There is light at the end of the tunnel. It will be better, tell yourself that too. Just reassuring yourself helps! How are you doing now?
Ugh, it took me almost 6 months to feel almost back to normal. How are you doing now?
Lizzy... turns out that the dose pack has caused ovary failure, and I am now in complete menopause. My food allergies (known as Menopausal allergies) are due to no estrogen and adrenal fatigue, which is causing excess histamine. I have been thrown into menopause so quickly, without the luxury of easing naturally into it.
My symptoms are getting better now... getting 5 - 7 hours of sleep at night, although I still wake up several times. My heart rate is getting more normal, and my heart palps are getting less. I am now hoping that my food allergies will get better in time, as well. I am a Christian, and I have an amazing church family praying for me. I am glad I finally have some answers. I am not taking this well, emotionally. But with the help of God, my husband, and church family, I will get thru this. He is the ultimate healer, and I'm praying, daily, for His mighty hand to cover me, and take away these allergies. I am thankful, that my allergic reactions are mild, which makes me hopeful.
Lizzy, how are you now? I have now developed food allergies to MANY foods. In fact, I only have 15 or 20 safe foods I can eat. I went from having NO allergies, to being allergic to almost everything.... including benadryl!! I saw an endocrinologist last week. I should get results back this week. This drug has set my immune system in overdrive!! I hope we get the answers we need to fix this. These have definitely been the WORST 3 months of my life, with no end in Site! I am scared to eat.. I have lost almost 25 pounds, and can't keep the weight on, even eating 4 big meals a day (mostly meat, potatos, rice and vegetables)
When I take this Medicine I start having blurred vision. Sometimes it only last for a few seconds other times I can see nothing for several minutes. Could this cause blindness? I have severe COPD and do not know weather or not to take this anymore. After I stop taking it I still have spells with it for about five minths.
I'm still having side effect from 6day pak which I took back in May....
Leary, I'm sorry that you are still having problems since taking the pack. I took my last pill (didn't take last two, because of severe side effects) October 5th, 2016. It's been almost 11 months now for me, and I am still experiencing problems... I'm about 98% healthy. Hang in there... it will get better. I hope your issues don't last as long as mine have..
I missed breakfast and I'm supposed to start my methylprednisolone 4 mg pack. It's now 2:00 pm. Can I still take my medicine? And how many hours in between dosing is required? Also, why is methylprednisolone supposed to be taken before breakfast?
My boyfriend & I are concerned with the medication Methylprednisolone 4mg dose pack? He has Rheumatoid Arthritis & for the last 3 months he has been on Prednisone. Is the Methylprednisolone 4 mg better for him to take than the Prednisone?
My husband and I have both taken methylprednisolone for 6 days and have had diarrhea. Is this a side effect?
I am on my 2nd day of methylprednisolone and wondering how long it takes to be effective as I have not noticed anything yet for my bursitis? Also, why does methylprednisolone need to be taken before breakfast? Thanks!
I was just given the 4mg Methylprednisolone 21 tablet dose pack on Thursday for a migraine. It has given me the worst dizziness/light headedness/nausea of my life. I have done all of day 1 and 2, and taken two today (two left for today). Can I stop taking it?
I was prescribed the week long taper dose pack 4mg . THIS IS THE DRUG FROM HELL ! I was supposed to take 8 pills the first day. Out of caution after reading about side effects I decided to go much slower . I broke first pill into 4 pieces and took several hours apart , felt ok so next day took two half pills over 8 hours. By that evening anxiety like I have NEVER had before hit me hard , heart racing , felt like I was on speed ! Severe nausea , depression , crying .... I felt like a CRAZY person ! Broke out in an itchy rash on my feet, hands, face. I called the doctor he told me I was hypersensitive to it and to stop taking it. If I had taken the 8 pills the first day I firmly believe I would have been hospitalized over it, or dead ! 9 days after taking this HORRIBLE medication I am still feeling the effects of awful anxiety and skin rashes.
This drug should only be used as a life saving measure and LAST RESORT !!
This is a DANGEROUS medication !!!
Worse side effect is diabetes and inability to respond to physical stress and promotion of infection due to reduced inflammatory response. Strange you are receiving it for headache unless you have the condition called temporal arthritis which is rare.
Tomorrow will be my last day on the Methylprednisolone (4mg) dosage pack. But my blood pressure has been 140/90. Usually it is around 110/60. Is that normal? Also my stomach looks like I'm pregnant and I'm not! And is constipation a normal side effect? Thank you for your help. I've taken steroid packs before but never this one and never had these side effects.
Re: Marsha (# 39)
You should check with your doctor as these drugs are known to interact. Methylprednisolone may alter the effects Coumadin (Warfarin) so you would need to keep an eye out for and report specific side effects. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications. [1]
