Having to test positive for methadone or opiates after 3 days clean in order to get methadone at the clinic. Do I really have to relapse in order to get help? ## The clinic that I used to go to said you had to be clean for one day of not taking any opiates to get your first dose of methadone. My California clinic only gives me 2 wk take-homes even tho I was referred by my oncologist for pain, although US regs allow one month take homes. Don't know yet whether I will be able to get them or not. I plan a trip to Europe next year (I would like to visit France, Italy, England and Malta) and am very worried about how to get my prescription overseas. I have heard that you only have to go through customs once in Europe & have read that the UK allows up to a 3-month supply to be brought in. I am taking 80mg of Methadone daily for pain control. For the past two months it is not showing up in my urine or blood when it always had in the past. I am frightened because now I question what the pharmacy has been giving me. I have felt less relief of my pain over the past two months, but I would have gone into withdrawal if the medicine was not Methadone. help, I need answers. I have been on "Phase 13" (13 take homes) for the last couple of years. I took pain meds (had surgery couple of months ago). I lost phase 13 and was moved down to six take homes. I just moved to St Augustine, Florida and I am looking for a new pain management physician. I have been taking methadone for pain for about a year. After trying several other medications to treat RA and back issues, the methadone actually managed my pain well and I need to find a new pain management doctor who prescribes methadone for pain. I would be willing to travel to Jacksonville or surrounding areas. Any help is appreciated! ## No one can tell you what a new doctor will and won't prescribe. You need to call your insurance company and ask for a list of Pain Management Doctors in your area that take your insurance. Some pain management doctors also want you to be seeing a pcp. Chances are good you will need copies of your medical records from your previous doctors.

Im on methadone (45mls pinadone) now obviously yo-yoed r the years but the one problem iv found is my teeth are wrecked since being on it. My doctor in the clinic says its sugarfree that's why they use pinadone solution but any dentist iv been to hav said it wrecks teeth. I had a surgery in 1998 for "smashed" disks found during the surgery and after trying every narcotic known to man, I obtained immediate relief with methadone. I was on it for 15 years until the recent government fiasco, which IMHO had no business interfering as no one knows but the patient and their primary doctor just how severe the pain is. I have no clue why methadone works so well and other even more powerful narcotics don't, and for 15 years I lead a rather normal life. I am on methadone and I was offered a very good job pending my 9 panel non dot drug screening. Will the methadone show up and if so can they refuse to give me the job? I do not want to tell the promising job that I am on the methadone program because I feel like they would judge me. I took 20mgs of methadone about once a week for the last month and I'm gonna get a job offer within the next 2 weeks to a month and it requires a 12 panel hair follicle drug test. Is 20mgs 5 times low enough for me to pass or do I have to do the toxin shampoo, vinager, dish soap, ect....? ## The hair stuff won't work for methadone. I have been on methadone for 30 years and i have seen all kinds of abuse, either from staff or medicating nurses. They would tell me i had to have a TB test ever year. Since I'm on monthlies, I have random call backs four times a year. The bad thing about it is they are only open from 5:30 am till 10:00 am, and I have to be at work at 6:30 am. And i live 30 miles from the Methadone center. Every month i have to turnover 600 dollars since my wife is on it too. I am just a blue collar worker and the cost leaves me broke every month. Then there are yearly physicals which cost 60 dollar a per couple. Then there is blood work which cost 30 dollars per couple. I thought methadone centers where there to help u.
