I AM A METHADONE MAINTAINANCE PATIENT, CLEAN FROM OXYCONTIN FOR THREE+ YEARS & I HAE PACKED ON 40 POUNDS! I AM RETAINING WATER & EXPERIENCE HORRIBLE CONSTIPATION...ANYONE WITH SIMILAR ISSUES OR TIPS TO HELP ME OR FIND THE CAUSE???

I was on methadone many years ago for chronic neck pain but I weaned myself off it because of the same reason but I found out accidentally on purpose( oops),lol that sublingual sub one help my chronic pain @ bay & lost the weight I gained but try to find a doctor or clinic but if you have insurance make sure they don't just cover the pill form because it doesn't work, I hope this help you. Have you found a solution to the constipation without taking a medication that will cause you to continually s*** your pants? I am also on 150mg liquid done maintenance with the weight gain and s***ting issue.

The ONLY people who lose weight on mdone are those with liver disease or other problems.. do you may want to have yourself checked and soon !!

That’s a whole pile of BS!! What the heck are you doing? By lying to these poor folks (like me) all you do is make it worse! There’s no way to beat the liquid handcuffs period!

Finally someone who’s not afraid to tell it like it is.. been on methadone since I was a teen and now at mid life I’ve seen and heard it all.. there’s No way to Lose the weight besides getting off completely.. I mean there’s got to be an actual rhetorical reason (at the cellular level) but good luck getting that answer out of Big Pharmacy!! It’s all about the money and until some rich billionaire kid has to deal with this issue; we’re all screwed !! I do hope someday someone brave finds a TRUE answer and shuts up all these folks spewing lies about vitamins and stool softeners helping.. To date there’s no cure but don’t let that stop your research because all it takes is just one person to put in some true scientific research..

You’re crazy if you think that birth control has any cause in this diabolical situation we’re all in.. it’s the methadone that’s causing your problem just like the rest of us.. please don’t feel like I’m being hard on you but rather helping you to see the conspiracy in all of this.. trust me Big Pharmacy knows about this problem we have with mega weight gain but they’ll admitt it nor help with a REAL answer...

That’s such BS !! It’s just as Hard in guys as it is it for the gals.. sometimes worse !! Been on methadone more years if my life then not, so I’ve heard it all !! There’s got to be some cellular or molecular level of finding the route cause but “who’s going to help junkies”? Also Big Pharm I’m sure knows the real reason but makes too much money to ever reveal the answer. Doesn’t anybody understand we are all fish in a bowl here, and until somebody comes up with a true answer they’ll never be freedom from the mental pain. For those who truly believe there’s a vitamin or food regime to help with this.. you’re kidding yourself and fooling others. if there an answer it’s got to be at the molecular level and I can only hope that someday someone will provide Real Answers that actually offer help to both women and men.. because at the end of the day we are all humans suffering equally and drastically...

I'm just trying to process what I just read. It seems as if your behaviors are still the behaviors of your post opiate addiction. Selling your pills isn't what you should be doing. I'm not here to preach, I'm just saying life would be better if you got these behaviors out of the way. I understand the Klonopin as I have severe anxiety PTSD and seasonal affective disorder. I also understand the weight gain, but you will never ever repeat never lose the weight until you come down to a low dose in a low dose is not 120. 120 is what I was on and it was far too much for me so I decided to taper off. I'm not totally off yet, but I am halfway down to 60 mg and have lost 47 lb that is the only way you were going to lose the weight. I did that gym thing every day and I kept out at 10 lb lost. If you want your confidence and your life back I suggest coming down to a low dose but of course that is your decision to make. With your Klonopin I believe it is possible. S*** I believe anything is possible, you can do anything you really believe.

Holy cow.... I'm sorry but if you take a downer with another downer and an upper, you are just going to kill yourself. You should maybe look into a treatment program with good results with all the good money u make from your adds. I don't mean to sound rude or whatever I might sound like right now, but I felt like I was on a rollercoaster drug ride rather than reading about someone who really wants to be done and healthy again. I'm just saying..... you don't need ALL THAT to get the results you are looking for. You just want 'quick and feel better' but that's not the right way.

You can try Ducolax and talk to your regular Dr anout prescription for what's called Narcotic bowel syndrome.

ive been reading everyone's postings and ur the only one who spoke of exercise. I've been on methadone for 4 yrs almost and I've gained I think 60 to 80 pounds. Right now I can't come off the methadone cuz I'm too fragile to relapse into pills again. I wanted to know what exercises u do, which help the best for weight loss. I heard swimming is good. I also have unbelievable swelling.

Why is going to the bathroom such a terrible ordeal on methadone? I dread even going pee cuz these hardened balls of s*** come out all day long every time I sit on the toilet. Like large milk duds! And also having major gas issues and stomach cramps. PLEASE help!!! Gaining weight like crazy too - 17 lbs in 2 months!!!

Just a hopeful update for some of the women talking about the weight gain. I was at 120 of liquid daily and have slowly tapered to 50 without feeling a thing. I have however dropped 40 lbs already without even trying! It's amazing. Barely any sugar cravings, but the hot flashes and sweating are still awful. Having confidence back is so great!!!

Talk to ur dr. Mixing meds is defently not a good idea, some of them interact with each other, so u need to be carefull. Im kinda having same problems as every1 on here. From methadon dose to weight gain to constipation... goodluck to all
