Hi. I need to find help. I am addicted to pain pills and would really like to get off of them. I have tried methadone and it works, i just need help finding a doctor to prescribe it for me. I live in Michigan. If anyone knows could you please help me? I cant go to a clinic because i dont live near one. I live in the upper penninsula but would drive downstate to get a doctor.....

I live in Port St Lucie, FL. I have been on Methadone for 8 years. I just retired and I can not keep paying the high cost of the Methadone Clinic. I am looking for a Dr. in my area that I can see so I can stop paying $400 a month at the Clinic. If you know of one Please Let me know

I live in michigan too. Where is this office on greenfield? What type of doctor is he? There are so many offices on Greenfield between 9 and 10 mile. Please give me more detail about the building if you could please? Or what type of doctor? Do you know his name at all? Please help!

Dear Mr. Enuff,
Apparently you believe in God as you stated "God Help You All." You should be ashamed. WOEFULLY ashamed. Do yourself a favour and READ. RESEARCH. I was addicted to Opiates due to chronic pain but was not on them long enough to suffer what these people are going through. I do take a Rx Pain Med. which bind with the Opiate Receptors in the brain: Tramadol. I've read articles that state withdrawl from THIS Rx is JUST as bad as Heroin withdrawal. EVEN if you believe the members of this forum began their addiction recreationally, consider this: Researchers have begun exploring PRESCRIBING Opiates to people with Clinical Depression. Why? Because many people who start for "The High," are DEPRESSED. It's a CHEMICAL IMBALANCE.
Then there are those, like me, who take these Rx Drugs because we HAVE to. Have you lived with Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Spinal Injury.......like me? No? Didn't think so? We go through what's called "Tolerance Withdrawl," the strength we're prescribed no longer WORKS. This is one reason people want OFF THE DRUGS.
I truly, truly pity you. Truly I do. One accident. One disease....Does Cancer run in your family? Trust me, the pain from Cancer is UNBEARABLE and you, too my friend will be "Getting High."
I can hardly TYPE the pain is radiating throughout my body so much. If the day comes when I DO or CAN begin withdrawal....I DREAD it. And, I dread people like you who have NO understanding. NONE.
God has already BLESSED these people. YOU are the one who needs the blessings.

WELL FOR SOME THING LIKE THAT IF ITS HELD YOU NEED TO BE OFF THEM GOOD LUCK I USE METHADONE BUT IT TOOK ALONG TIME I STUPIDLY WENT UP TO 60 ML I KNOW NOW I DID NOT NEED THAT MUCH BUT I HAVE BEEN COMING DOWN FOR A YEAR 1 ML. A WEEK I AM NOW ONE 2 ML. I CANT TELL YOU THAT I HAD NO WITHDRAW BUT I ONLY HAD ONE MINOR THING AT A TIME IF WITHDRAW WAS WHAT I FELT OVER THE LAST YEAR AND NEVER GOT ANY WORSE THEN WHAT IT DID IT WOULD OF NEVER NEEDED IT THE WORST WAS IN MY HEAD KNOWING I WAS DROPPING AND I HAD NOT FELT BAD ENOUGH YET AND I KNEW IT WAS BUT TO MY SURPRISE IT NEVER DID GET BAD I NEVER LOST A NIGHT OF SLEEP THE WORST IT GOT WAS WAS LIKE A WOKE UP TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW I WOKE UP MAYBE FOR A HOUR AND WAS A LITTLE BIT OF ANXIETY NOTHING CLOSE TO WHAT IWENT THROW BEFORE NO COLD CHILLS NO HOT FLASHES NO FEELING LIKE I PUT MY FIGURE IN A OUTLET YOU KNOW BUG CRAWLING FEELING OR LIKE YOU HAVE A BATTERY CHARGER HOOKED UP TO YOU I THINK IT WAS IN MY HEAD BUT I FEEL BACK TO SLEEP PRAYING TO GOD TO HELP ME AND HE DID I WOULD NEVER OF GOT THROW THIS WITH OUT GOD CARING ME CLEAR TO THE END OF IT BUT BE CAREFUL METHADONE CLINICS ARE LIKE DRUG DEALERS THEY WILL LET YOU GO UP AND UP AND UP UNTIL YOU HAVE NO MORE MONEY THEN THEY PUT YOU ON THE STREET WITH A BIGGER PROBLEM THEN WHAT YOU CAME IN WITH IT CAN WORK FOR THE PEOPLE THAT ARE REALLY OVER IT DONE AND WANT THERE LIFE'S BACK I WISH YOU ALL THE LUCK THIS WILL BE HARD NO THAT THINK THAT SO YOU WILL FEEL RE LEAVED WHEN ITS NOT AS HARD AS YOU KNEW IT WOULD BE HOPE FOR THE BEST BUT EXPECT THE WORST THAT WAY NO SURPRISES I WILL PRAY FOR YOU AND I HOPE IT ALL WORKS OUT THE WAY YOU WANT

You clearly have been taking too much of the pain medicine you say you "HAVE" to take. You should be ashamed of yourself for saying such hurtful thing to people. Pain is pain and you of all people should have compassion. You kept mentioning God, like your some good person. Check yourself because what you've put out there is awful, mean and extremely insensitive. I suffer from a very rare form of arthritis, i've been on the narcotic pain meds before (overcame physical dependence with methadose treatment via methadose clinic), then made the decision to live drug free. While still dealing with pain, i've learned how to manage with different types of exercise, foods and a good spiritual life and awareness; something you clearly are void of, yet you think you know everything. Pain meds YOU HAVE to take (LOL)!

if u know a doctor in suffer county that gives scripts of methadone email me back an i would love to talk to u about anyway i can abtain a script i live in danbury ct but i will drive where ever i have to the suboxan doesnt work but i cant keep going to the clinics anymore

I HAVE BEEN ON METHADONE AND OXYCODONE FOR SEVERE SPINE PAIN, WAS IN A WHEEL CHAIR 4 MONTHS, SPENT MONTHS N THE HOSPITAL, WALKD ON A WALKER 4 MONTHS AND NOW WITH THE PAIN MEDS, AM WALKING ON MY OWN, I HAVE BEEN ON THESE MEDS 4 SEVERAL YEARS AND WENT 2 MY DRS APPT LAST WEEK 2 FIND IT CLOSED! They didnt contact me of there closing at all, and i need 2 find a dr. in tennessee or georgia who i can get an appt, without being on a waiting list until january! i am having severe withdrawals and my pain is intensified by what feels like a million times. if anyone knows where i can go plz plz let me no....also will the e.r. give u methadone until i can find a dr??????????

hey i live on long island in ny. i am on a methadone clinic but i am sick and tired of going 7 days a week and having to see a counselor. I want to find a doctor that will prescribe it to me so i do not have to deal with these quaks anymore. thanks alot

Tommy. Any pain clinic doctor will prescribe u methadone. You sound like you have a good reason to be on it. Just explain to the doctor you like that methadone lasts a long time in your system and it will be better for your liver if you switched over to it. Any doctor with a heart should help u out. Most pain management physicians are sympathetic to your needs

Look up In house doctors on Google; look for a guy name Nathan schilder (spelling a little off) he will give u anything u need...just very $$$...worth it though

Ok listen up ppl, there r doctors that will prescribe methadone to heroin addicts like a maintance clinic would and u only have to see them monthly or by monthly. A good way to find one is starting on the subutex list to find a doctor call and ask if they also give methadone, and go thru the list. Probably 90% won't but then u only have to make 10 calls. These docs exist I got one. Tho in my experience u won't get nearly as high of a dose off a clinic

I live outside in Knoxville TN and have been going to Georgia twice a month to the methadone clinic. The one in Knoxville is unacceptable. Anyway I would so much like to see a private doctor locally. Does anyone know of a private physician in Knoxville ?

Hi I posted before and now I see so many ppl r looking for a methadone dr. Guess what, I almost died in a car wreck. Now I live with VERY bad back and shouler pain. I cant even hardly use my left are and need special pillows made just so I can sleep with my back pain. I have 3 rods in my back keeping it together. So YES< YES< YES...I DO need these pain meds. YOu are an A**hole and have never experanced pain I am guessing. Here is the problem...When you have a problem like mine all you can do it take meds to try to help it. I have seen over 15 different doctors about it. The problem is that you get use to the amount yuou take and it doesnt halp anymore so you need to take more, or something stronger. It sucks and NOT a place most of us want to be in. I dont wish anythinf bad upon you but before you make a comment like this try to learn a little more and know what you are talking about. You suck and should be ashamed of yourself for picking on people who need to live their lives in pain because some drunk A-hole runs a red light....Thanks for understand OUR side before even asking. Have a GREAT pain free life.

I also attend a clinic in Knoxville tn and i agree totally they have gone crazy with all the rules.im not saying that i don't think that there should be rules but i feel like if your doing what you are supposed to and really working your treatment you should be rewarded.I think that alot of the counselors there have the big head and control people being able to get there take homes (even the ones that are following the rules)and the prices are krazy they just keep going up and up. and your totally screwed if you piss someone off there because they never forget it and make things really hard for you and you cant just switch to another one in Knoxville because the only other one is owned by the same people.They change doctors over there almost as much as i change underwear..lol..but seriously you will have one doctor tell you one thing and then another tell you something different.I know that being a addict is something that I brought upon my self and is my burden to curry but I have been a patient of that clinic for a year and a half and have over 6 to 7 months of consistently clean ua's and my life has changed alot since I started there but Ive still not been able to get higher then code 3 and every time that I would ask why that is my counselor would say well we don't want you having any more take home medication because you have small children in the household,and also because you have no job and the state will wonder why we are giving you that many take homes and think that you are possibly selling your medication to pay your bill.But okay for her saying that my children are a reason makes no sense at all because I do at this time get some take homes so what about those they obviously think that I keep them put up and away that they give me what I got because honestly if I didn't do that or they didn't feel like I did they shouldn't give me any at all and as for me not having a job well I don't have a job im a stay at home mother but my husband does work part time.I don't sell my medication I need it I cant hardly function without it and if I didn't then I sure as hell wouldn't be there.I always say to her that I know hundreds of other patients who have children and no job and they have weekly even monthly's and then she always says your treatment is never going to be successful until you stop comparing your self to other people, and the rules are not always the same we asses every case differently. Well what she says about them treating every one differently is defiantly the truth if you have a good counselor or have always kissed ass and been a suck up,or just lucky I guess then yea you can maby go far but if not your screwed,and for those of you who don't know the state guidelines for getting weekly take home medication is being there at least 9 months and have at least 6months of clean ua's and I have all of those things plus. I wouldn't care to drive over there everyday but for the fact that the gas prices are killing me and not to mention me and my husband only have one vehicle so him getting to work on time is nearly impossible and I have to bring my children with me every single day and that's not fair to them or not a place that I want my child to be at that often.So I'm also looking for a doctor that would be willing to prescribe methadone in the tn area if any one has any info I would greatly appreciate it. i know a doctor in El Cajon, sorry i dont have the name. but he his in a little brick one story building and it is right behind the El Cajon library on the back side across the street. hes really old but if you explain yourself because he really isnt trying to see new patients. he will also give you 1mg xanax too. and my two friends get 180 methadone 10mg pills a month.
