I have quinine about 15 years old. Does quinine get too old? ## Hello, Dymple! How are you? Yes, all medications tend to lose efficacy with time. The elements, such as heat, light and moisture cause them to degrade. Thus, I have to say that after 15 years, yes, you should just dispose of it and obtain a new supply, if you need it. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Quinine as possibly including nausea, diarrhea, dizziness and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I need to know how many leg cramp pills I should take at one time, and how often. The label came off of my bottle. It is a white oval pill with LC on one side and HYL on the other. Thanks ! ## Hi Mimi, From what I've been able to gather, "HYL LC" is a Homeopathic med made by Hyland's Inc, (Leg Cramps with Quinine) containing: Cinchona Officinalis (Quinine), Viscum Album, Gnaphalium Polycephalum, Rhus Toxicodendron, Aconitum Napellus, Ledum Palustre, Magnesia Phosphoricum I have not been able to locate any specific details on the dosage or administration though. Is there anyway you can contact the company that you ordered it from, to verify the labeling? ## Label says 1-2 with water every 4 hours as needed.

I have been on Plaquenil 200mg 2x daily almost 3 months. I have RA and have gained weight, feel swollen all over and look like I have aged over night. Has anyone else had some of these side effects. I also crave carbs all the time. Dr told me to be on it for at least 6 months before I may notice any relief. thanks for any help you can give me ## Hello, Debbie! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. The weight gain is unusual, because this medication is listed by the FDA as usually causing the opposite, it's even been known to cause anorexia, in some people that take it. The looking as if you've aged can occur, because it can cause various side effects that may make it seem like that, such as a bleached out or higher hair color, muscular effects, ha...

White round pill that's says m on one side and 374 on other side ## Hi Ace, From your description, the closest match I'm finding is a white round pill marked with an "M" on one side and "373" on the other. This is identified as a 200mg Hydroxychloroquine sulfate tablet, commonly prescribed for arthritis. For verification, its size is reported to be approximately 10 millimeters; and the pill also carries a National Drug Code of 00378-0373 through Mylan Pharma. Any thoughts on whether this might be your pill?

I was diagnosed with SLE and RA finally. I was given Plaquenil for the lupus symptoms and cymbalta for depression and pain. Are these good medications for SLE and RA ## Yes. I have SLE and have been prescribed Plaquenil 200mg, twice daily for the past 10 years. However my SLE began to attack my Kidneys and Lungs; therefore, I was placed on Steriods (started at 40 mg down to 7.5 mg daily) and Cellcept 2 grams daily (medication used to treat cancer) to suppress my immune system. I also take Cymbalta for depression. ## ## I also take Plaquenil twice daily for Rheumatoid Arthritis. This is an antimalarial drug that also has been found to help with RA symptoms by suppressing the immune system's response. I have my eyes checked about twice a year to ensure that this medicine has not affec...

54 but they are broke in half. Its not smooth on the other side there is a line right threw the middle of the opposite side. What is this, please help ## Hi Dan, From your description the closest match I'm seeing online is a white round pill marked with 54 111 on one side and scored on the other. It contains 250mgs of Mefloquine; which is used to prevent and treat malaria. Had there been no score line I would've thought this to be a generic Subutex tablet, since it shares the same imprint 54 411. But if you could double check the "4" to make sure it's not a "1" that would confirm whether or not Mefloquine is a prime suspect. One thing is for sure though, and that is that the manufacturer of both of these pills starting with 54 and followed by three digits is ...

I have some pills that have been in my pill box a couple months, and I cannot remember what they are for. They are a smaller white oblong pill that on one side has the imprint of LC, and on the other side has the imprint of HYL. Thank you. ## Hello, Traci! How are you? This is an over the counter homeopathic product called Hyland's Leg Cramps with Quinine. Hyland's makes several homeopathic products that you can get in most vitamin shops or health stores. As it states, they claim it can relieve leg cramps. As a precaution, if you do experience leg cramps regularly, be sure to have yourself check for low potassium levels and/or dehydration, since both can cause such a symptom. Is there anything else I can help with?

I Have a bottle of Hydroxychor 200mg tabs with an expiration date of 10/13. Are these pills still effective enough to take or do I need to get a new prescription? ## Since they do start to lose effectiveness over time, it would be best to just dispose of them and get a new prescription. You can even have your pharmacy dispose of them for you, or use the FDA disposal instructions that say you should mix them in with some undesirable substance, such as used kitty litter or coffee grounds, then place them in a sealed container in the garbage. Is there anything else I can help with?

Someone please help to identify a white capsule with writing Watson 716 325 mg ## This capsule contains 325mgs of Quinine, which is most commonly used as an antimalarial medication. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, constipation and erectile dysfunction. And while this medication is greatly rumored to cause miscarriage in pregnant women, that is not true.
