Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 71) (Top voted first)
UpdatedDoes anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you
Even a small amount can affect your memory. The doctors got kickbacks from the drug firm by giving the drug Lyrica glowing reports. They seemed to prescribe it for every ache and pain. The doctors are treating it like the new aspirin of the 21st. century. Lyrica works by disrupting the synapses between nerves in the brain; however, besides doing that it also destroys the connection between the nerves and if you are lucky, you'll only end up a babbling i****, which may stay or decrease; but you will always have some type of brain dysfunction, some short term memory loss (always carry a notebook and pen to write important things down especially doctor appointments). You may also experience the other effects. I seemed to have developed a weight gain. Over the years I have gone from 120 pounds to 185 pounds and I don't eat much but I make sure it is a balanced meal. My elder son is going for his Master's in dietary nutrition and he has been telling me what I should or shouldn't be eating. But I'm getting off the subject. Lyrica is a vile and destructive drug that never should have been approved. Tylenol, aspirin, antibiotics and other drugs like diabetic side effects but not like Lyrica. I wish we could call attention to the harmful side effects of Lyrica.
Anxiety is another one of Lyricas biggest horror side effects that never goes away , my son had his last dose nearly 6 years ago , is now 23 years of age and nothing will treat his anxiety , it is a life wrecker .
I just found this...

Fill in the thing on the right hand side. I just did. If they are serious then we stand a chance.
Blessings to you all.
Yes I feel that too stuttering and no memory .it's a nitemare I'm down to 25 mg daily but still feel the same I'm hoping to be completely free of the drug in a few months after 5 year's of it I just hope that my memory cones back and I don't feel anxious about everything any more .:-/
I have been using Lyrica @ 100mg three times a day for over a year for fibromyalgia and neuropathy. At first, it seemed to help but now doesn't seem near as effective. Pain relief is only effective for 4-6 hours. About nine months ago, I started to notice problems with my teeth. They hurt all the time! I have needed three root canals and numerous fillings. Also, I noticed a strange pain in my right eyeball. I have trouble with my thinking and memory lapses. These are all new symptoms, since I started Lyrica. I feel hopeless! I shouldn't have to choose between pain relief, dental bills and med side effects!
I too have had problems with my teeth. I lost 4 teeth in a 2yr period. My aunt also took the drug and she now has NO enamel I her teeth. The teeth are grey in color and jagged because they are literally breaking off.
Lyrica helped me lose 2yrs of my life and caused more long lasting problems than it solved. I've posted here a few times but you finally gelled me back up my claim of dental issues. I recently spent16K to give me enough teeth on to to actually chew. Good luck!
Hi I haven't yet stopped I'm down to 25 mg per day as it's really hard withdrawal .but I will post to you what is happening as an when I manage to stop them altogether .I'm sort of in denyal that this is happening to me and just hoping that I will get all my memory and ability to find words and not feel so not with it all the time .:-) when I stopped
Did you find an attorney in CA for your Lyrica issues? I'm in CA.
Another thing .I have actually developed a bad anxiety problem since I have been on the drug .I used to worry a bit but now I find even waiting for a phone call makes me not cope and anticipation of it wrecks my day it's ridiculous to me that I feel like this now
My friend has been prescribed it for restless legs .and I have told her please don't take it but she isn't listening at the moment .it really is a terrible drug .I'm so sorry about your son .
Hi Vicky I'm in UK and no one over here seems to think it's a bad drug ..I'm si messed up on it with memory and all sorts
I feel like I've got Alzheimer's but apparently it's a " wonder drug ". And doctor s are prescribing it for everything .my friend is on it for restless leg syndrome I've warned her but to no avail .I Don t know how anyone can fight this massive drug company .
unfortunaly ive had to put my dose back up as im on pregabalin for a central nervous system disorder, and need it to calm down nerve endings in my stomach and intestines, as I cannot eat very much and have to drink fortsip to help me get enough vits and minerals etc,,it is working for thisroblem so looks like I will carry on as normal ,just hope mymemory doesn't get any wrse,
From what I have come up with, the makers of Lyrica know about all the side effects and have listed them. We don't have leg to stand on as for getting a lawsuit against the makers of Lyrica. But if anyone that knows of a law firm that will take it please let us know.
I didn't know it had been out that long. I started it after I saw commercials @ it @ 3 yrs ago. I seem to have different problems than posted here!!!
A person would think that brain damage would be enough for a lawsuit, but it's not. I feel sometimes that I may be getting Alzheimers. I pray that's not what happening.
Sierraguy , Can relate to your experience , my son was only on Lyrica for about 5 months all up and has not had a dose for 6 years , is now 23 years of age and is devastated he can not study as his memory retention is practically non existent , he was a very brilliant student , i dont know how to help him....
Lyrica has helped me emensly. I don't understand why everyone is having bad luck with this medicine. My skin feels better not shaking anymore and it really helps with my pain. I guess I don't understand. You only gain weight if your eating more. I haven't gained a pound.
My wife was prescribed Pregablin (Lyrica) recently, and took her first dose on 8 August 2016. The prescribed dosage was 300mg twice a day for a week and then 300mg three times a day for the next week to start. After taking the first 300mg tablet she became, dizzy, disoriented, blurred vision, weak in the knees (unable to stand or walk without assistance), nausea, erratic heartbeat, garbled speech, tongue blisters which looked like divots on the tongue, numbing sensation of teeth and gums a general overall malaise and she slept for some 14 hours straight through. Needless to say she will not take another tablet. Upon researching suggested dosage, a 300mg dose was used in the most extreme cases. In reading your post I wondered if you would consider providing the name of the Attorney representing you. I'm concerned not only for my wife but for anyone else who may fall prey to over prescribed medication from this doctor. I hope i will hear from you.
To my knowledge there is no attorney. The makers of Lyrica were smart and knew about the side effects before putting the drug out on market. As of right now we don't have any legal rights. That was what was told to by 2 attorneys, 1 in Texas and 1 in Denver. I hope I am not the only looking though.
Although it is very sad to hear of the problems your wife has encountered it gives me some comfort in knowing that I am not going mad. I have been on it for two years since my accident and it is very hard for people not very close to understand how much this changes you. I have gone from being a network engineer and project manager to a housewife and cannot even be trusted to use sharp knives . I get significant palpitations, shortness of breath and most recently got so dizzy I fell and broke my foot. I am not sure what life holds for me but I have made my peace with God and am ready to go when ever I have to now. There is no fight left. So be it.
I have adverse reaction when taking it and it had been worse since i stopped
