Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 30)

Updated

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you

Nick- I was told a dry brain meant I was losing fluid which I guess is like spinal fluid. But they didn't know why I lost it. They wanted to do a test through my spine but my surgeon said it wasn't possible because of my traumatic spinal injury(too much hardware thoracic spine). I was on 50mg 2x day for 2yrs I kept getting bumped up but couldn't tolerate it. I weighed maybe 100lbs after my accident since I couldn't move or eat. I can't remember if I had a follow-up MRI after I stopped taking it I know I had several while taking it because they were trying to find out what was happening to me. They finally decided it was all in my head (I was crazy!) The neuros I saw never even once mentioned the problem with my brain or all of the other problems were from Lyrica. It was a pain DR I switched to at a local teaching hospital 2yrs after beginning this who figured the dry brain and all of the side effects with it were from lyrica. I don't know what I would have done it I didn't happen to find him after the torture I went through at the top Phila neuro hospital. He saved my life! I did also have an eeg (i think) little needles in hand, arm, neck, head which I was told my nerves weren't firing correctly that is documented also. Which is why I would like to do something to get this drug off of the market. People like me are put on this drug because they are in pain and this is suppose to help but instead it creates new problems and many do not go away when you stop taking it.

Thanks for ypur reply Renee, it is hard to believe a horribly damaging drug like Lyrica ever made it on to the market in the first place , what kind of testing did these people and why did the FDA ever approve it and not even monitor its effects on people , the whole system is sadly lacking .

My name is William I have been on Lyrica for a few years and I want to (and have tried to) quit. The side-affects are terrible but they get a lot worse when I try to get off of Lyrica. My whole mentality is damaged betwen the memory loss and the confusion I am a former Master Plumber who can't remember my own profession anymore and it is impossible to put myself back out there to achieve any kind of livelihood. I feel that is totally wrong that the Federal Government can sue Lyrica for fraud but we are left holding the bag. It isn't right and it is sad no lawyer wants to take these guys on and erect a lawsuit for us as victoms. We are being swept under the rug!

Bless your heart Vicky I wish there was a huge lawsuit for the complications of taking Lyrica. We need to make as much noise as possible to express our implications!! This is a real issue. The Government sued Lyrica for billion(s) we should get that and more to all the victims of Lyrica!!

I posted a message about lyrica. I do not know if they will post it. I gave the FDA phone number and web address. It has to be reviewed first. I hope they do post it.

Hi William , try and get off Lyrica as soon as you can by cutting down the dose very gradually untill you are ok with out it , thats what i had to do with my son .Remember the longer you take Lyrica the greater the nurological damage you will incure .

You need to talk to your Dr and gradually stop taking it because of the withdrawls but you do need to stop taking it or it will continue doing damage. If your Dr doesn't support you weaning off immediately than find a different doctor. Some of the fog will lift when you stop taking it all together. Good luck

Hi William , what is the cause and reason you were put on Lyrica in the first place ? as you wean down and come off Lyrica you may need to take other suitable measures to control pain .

William ,450mg is a hefty dose , 300mg for a couple of months is all it took to destroy my sons memory and ability to concentrate and retain knowledge , it also triggered a very severe anxiety disorder that he had no sighn of before takeing Lyrica .

Hey Nick, thank you again for your concern... I am very sorry to hear about your son. I was put on Lyrica for nerve damage pain in my lower back. I strongly feel Lyrica should not be used unless the good really outways the bad. Even then it should only be last resort. Otherwise it should really stay off the market! My heart goes out to all of you knowing this damage is long term if not permenant. We are definately vitcims of the pharmacutical market. Let's. Stay optumistic that we will seee some kind of justice served for the terrible and sad side-effects of Lyrica. My heart is with each of you.

I believe the only suitable use for Lyrica is for the late term , terminaly ill who are bed ridden with so much pain that the benifits will out weigh the bad .

Hi Robin #406 Where was the weight gain....was it mostly in your stomach area and mid section?
Then if it was there, it most likely was like me, the vegus nerve that runs across your stomach was damaged by Lyrica. I am trying to find out if this is permanent damage. My stomach and midsection now is very large and I have had to buy new clothes to fit over my new stomach size and of course am very upset by this. I look like I am six months pregnant!
I am 72. I will be seeing my Dr. next week.
