You are not supposed to drink while on Lyrica. I made the big mistake of doing that. I took my dose in the morning and then got invited by some friends to go out. I do not usually drink, but started drinking around 9:30 pm. I was found in an alley behind a restaurant at 4 am. The last thing I remember was last call at 2am. I am only posting this to give a VERY strong warning not to drink while on this medication. Luckily I am OK and still alive. It is a horrible feeling to not know what happened in those 2 hours. Please do not drink while on Lyrica.

I take lyrica for diabetic nerve pain. 450mg a day. I drank a glass of wine on Halloween and broke out in a sweat and hives all over. I am 41 years old and never had hives until that day. I know it wasn't the wine because i have drank wine before with no problem

I took 200 mg of lyrical it was capsule all yellow can't remember the name but worked very very well then I got 150 mg and it helped but was not like the 200mg all yellow in color it might had something added to it need to fine this med.





I took 200 mg cap.it work very very well it was licica

Sounds closer to the truth the other meds I'm on would be stronger than alcohol in every way mate

I take the 200mg capsules of lyrica. They are a dark pinkish red, not yellow. Are you sure it was a lyrica that you took? As of yet there is no generic for lyrica.

I was on Lyrica 600 milligrams a day for 3 years. I'm still at experiencing side effects 2 years later. The medication itself did wonders for me like no other has been able to but the side fects were unbelievable and I finally had to cold turkey stop taking it when I could no longer put shoes on my feet from the swelling . People close to me while I was on it said that I became a lunatic and some to this day think I am a drug addict of some sort due to my behavior change. The cost was unbelievable and side effects appear to be lif e long. At the same time I say it's a miracle and a demonic drug. I think you are blinded to the evil of it by all the benefits and it is best to leave the decision whether or not to take it up to someone close to you because by the time you are affected negatively .... your brain is fried. I went cold turkey from it and it took almost 2 weeks (in bed mostly) to have any sense of normalcy in my life.
So alcohol added to this drug I'm sure can harm tremendously.
I would never add alcohol to any drug taken for pain or mood issues and if you are taking Lyrica I beg that you have an outside source evaluate how it effects you and whether you should be on it.

I had shingles,three years ago, in the cornea of my eye two times. I have terrible burning pain on the left side of the head, forehead, in my eye ,and down to the tip of my nose. My shingles turned into PHND. I have been on Lyrica /450 mg a day for the three years. I have had a long journey of going to many doctors but it was worth it! I finally found a wonderful neurologist that is helping me. My burning and itching is still happening on the top of my head and forehead . Is anyone else having this problem?

I have switched to a drug called Horizant which is supposed to be just like Lyrica without the side effects. Has anyone else heard of this drugs or are taking it. What a difference no swelling no brain fog all kinds of benefits.... perfect. I'm curious to see if anyone else gets put on this pill so please let me know.

i have experienced a really bad bout of nausea vomiting and diarrhea whilst taking lyrica then had a lot to drink at a wedding. I thought I had food poisoning the next day. The next time the same thing happened when I had a lot to drink at a birthday party. I took Lyrica just before I went to bed. I wasnt that drunk but had been drinking steadily throughout the day. During the night and next day I felt really bad with nausea and diarrhea.

I've been on lyrica for my fibromyalgia (150mg once a day) for the last 2 months. I haven't had a drink since I started however I'm going on holiday soon and hope that I can at least have a glass of wine for the birthday...

I just started taking Lyrica (75mg per day) for neuropathy pain/burning in my legs and feet which resulted from a back injury that went from bad to worse. I'm extremely intrigued by all of the feed back regarding Lyrica and possible side effects. I do enjoy a drink at the weekend I think I'll keep a low profile for the next few weeks to see how I fair after taking the meds for a couple of weeks.

I dated an ex boyfriend who was on at least 150 mg of lyrica and 300mg of fluoxetine(generic for prozac). Both in which state do not drink on them. He has a seizure disorder and was also on medical marijuana and loved to drink beers. Like 10 beers on a basic monday. No idea how he did it but after reading your posts I am even more concerned with all he was taking while drinking on top of it. He still lived with his parents at 25 and his entire family suffers from anxiety and depression and know all the medicine he is on so it was kind of mind blowing they all drink a few everynight eapecially him and how his mother stocks the fridge at all times with everyone's beer. Hence why he is an ex. Ugh!!
