I'm not sure if morning or evening is the best time to take Losartan. What is the difference and could i alternate if i ran out of one or the other. ## Losartan is an ARB and Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker, so they are different types of medications, which are used to treat the same types of conditions. Different treatments work better for different people and sometimes, a combination may be required. However no, alternating like that isn't advisable, for several reasons. One would be due to the fact that they each take several weeks to reach their full effect in the body, so if you were switching off an on every few weeks, neither medication would actually have the chance to fully do its job. And the next is due to the fact that abruptly stopping these types of medications could cause a rebound effect, which may result in elevated blood pres...

UpdatedShould I take tylnol, Advil, Alive or Asprin for body akes? ## Hello, LT! How are you? If you are taking it to lower your blood pressure, then it's very likely that you need to refrain from taking the NSAIDs, such as Advil, Aleve or Aspirin, because they can actually cause blood pressure elevation. You need to check with your doctor to make sure of which is safest for you, but it's likely that you need to stick with just Tylenol. ## Have been taking one Losartan /hct 100-12.5 every morning for about 4 months. My mother is 79yrs old. She has had an Electrolyte problem for the last 2 yrs. Sodium levels are coming down. This is the 3rd year. Even in May of 2010, she began having the same problem. From May 2010 to till Dec 2010 she used Covance 50mg for BP and Wysolone 5mg. She did not have any problem. Soduim levels are 138.4 out of 145 and hemoglobin is 10.4, this result is from mid December. In mid Dec 2010, she got a cold and cough, so we went to the doctor and she normally checked the BP and she found a little bit of high BP, i think 152 (I don't remember exactly) and the Doctor prescribed Losar - H (LOSARTAN POTASSIUM AND HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE) twice a daily instead of Covance 50 mg. We went to my native place and i did the electrolytes test on Jan'6th, i found the difference to be 3...
I had been on losartan 100/25 for the past 6 years after being diagnosed with high blood pressure. Over time, I noticed when changing my diet, my blood pressure would go down... I recently started eating low carb and lost about 18 pounds - I had noticed the 100 mg was making me dopey, weak, sleepy and even causing anxiety and discomfort... My doc said I should cut it to half so now I take 50 mg in the morning and still take my 5mg amlodipine in the evening. She said I should self-medicate according to my symptoms and increase or decrease as I feel necessary. I feel significantly better and wake up with a healthy blood pressure. But I have a feeling that by the afternoon my blood pressure sometimes elevates again, especially when I'm active or stressed... I have found the doc a bit u...
I need to know what's the difference between tab lup and tab leg in losartan potassium. ## Hello, Sissy! How are you? From what you've listed, they've just been manufactured by different companies, for instance, the lup stands for Lupin Pharmaceuticals. This is a generic, so it's manufactured by several different companies and whichever one your pharmacy carries each month will depend on who was offering the cheapest price, at the time they needed to restock their supply. The FDA classifies Losartan as an ARB that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## You said LUP is for the...
Hi, are losartan and neobloc compatible to treat hypertension? Thanks. ## Hello, Maria! How are you? Yes, such medications are often prescribed together to treat high blood pressure, or that which has proven to be resistant to treatment with just one medication. However, they can both increase potassium, so your doctor should be checking your levels regularly via blood work. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, dry cough and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you very much. Your answer is very much appreciated.... ## My mom is 86 years old taking lozartan 100mg and neoblock 50mg and she's having a feeling of side effects on it.. I have been taking Lisinopril with Chlorthalidone, as I my potassium was depleted when I was taking Triamterene and had a stroke. The hospital physician put me on Lisinopril with Chlorthalidone and told me I would not lose potassium with this combination. Lisinopril has caused cough and is annoying so my GP switched me to Losartan. Is it safe to take Losartan and Chortahlidone, and will this combination still allow me to retain potassium? ## Hello, Glo! How are you? I am sorry about the stroke you suffered. Yes, there should not be any problem, the Losartan has the same type of action as the Lisinopril on adding potassium. I had a similar problem with my potassium constantly dropping dangerously low and we found that Losartan's relative Candesartan works very well for me to prevent ...
Ok, is the yellow losartan pill 25 mg or 100 mg? Kind of confusing. Is this a high dosage or a low dosage? Thanks, David ## Is that the complete marking? Can you please post back and clarify? Is the marking E 49? If so this tablet is listed by Aurobindo Pharma as containing 25mgs of Hydrocholorothiazide and 100mgs of Losartan. It is used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, dehydration, and hypotension. Thus, it is actually neither, since it s a combination medication that contains 2 active ingredients, in different dosages.
I've been taking losartan 50mg and lately I've noticed that I have difficulty remembering. Is it possible that the losartan is causing short term memory loss? ## Yes, there is a possibility, though that is not a normal side effect, according to FDA reports. They typically include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Are you on any other medications? ## I take 12.5 to 25 mg when needed and noticed memory impairment in April 2016. When I reported it to cardiologist and associates, they said they were unaware. I also noticed other side effects as well. I plan to discontinue because things seem progressively worse.
I have lost 50 lbs and now have low BP 90-60 can I just stop taking the Lisinopril-HCTZ ## Hello, Jerry! How are you? I'm glad you're doing so well! No, please don't just stop it, without your doctor's approval. Doing so creates the risk of rebound high blood pressure and elevated heart rate. You should only stop such a medication, if your doctor approves and in many cases, with a slow taper. The FDA lists the typical side effects for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, hypotension and dehydration. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I've been taking Watson 860, pink-round, lisinopril hctz 10/12.5 for the past 10 years. Is there a lesser dosage of this same pill? ## Hi CC - I checked the drug page on this sit...

Been thanking Losartan/HCT 50-12.5 for about 10 months. About three months ago I started getting a lump on my left breast it has been tender and sore. I'm a man and I was getting worried about it mite be Breast Cancer. I went and had a mammography done today the Doctor told me it was not cancer.
