I had checked my Blood Pressue and its in normal range 120-80 most of the times. Please advise is there any other alternative medicine for Blood Pressure. ## Where are you located? My Pharmacy switched my prescription from the green pills that are Oval shape to these pink pills that are round and are not as effective with the control of my high blood pressure. I have been taking Losacar-H along with Amtas AT for the past seven years for my blood pressure. Now that my blood pressure is well under control, is there any harm in continuing these medications? ## While there are always risks associated with using any medication long-term, the risks to you are far greater if you stop taking them and let your blood pressure get out of control. Has your doctor been running occasional blood tests to check your liver and kidney function? If those tests show no abnormalities and the medications are still working for you, then there is no need to switch or change your regimen, unless your doctor advises you to do otherwise. My doctor gave me samples of Valsartan 160mg when I went to pick up the medication from Rx they gave me Losartan Pot 50mg. my insurance company would not pay any longer for my hypertension medicine losartan hctz 100-25 mg tabs and put me on a tab supposed to be the same but made by a company lupin. Have noticed my headaches returning which signaled my elevated blood pressure and have only been on the new pills for a week.
