Loose Black Motion After Food

I have a normal bowel movement in the morning as soon as I get up. But, once I have break fast, after some time, heavy pressure creates for motion and it will be loose, black in colour and foul smelling. There after, the entire day is normal. I am a diabetic for the last seven years and I am on tablets.

Normal bowel movement in the mornings. After break fast, may be an hour or so later, I start feeling uncomfortable in the stomach and I will be forced to the toilet to ease myself. The stool will be loose, black green in colour and smells unpleasant. Once this is clesred, the entire day I am alright.
I am from Bangalore city in India. I am a Type 2 diabetic and on medicines for the last seven years.

My mother is 88 yrs old. She is prone to loose motions. She only consumes soft food like porridge and soft bread but within the hour she has to go to the toilet. Her toilet trips can be 3 to 4. What can i give her to relieve her problem

To the original poster, what type of medication do you take for your diabetes? What types of foods do you eat for breakfast?

Both of these could play a factor in why this is happening.


Sue, has she consulted her doctor?

Such a soft diet on a regular basis could be causing her issues and she may not be getting the proper nutrition that her body needs.

Glycenorm is the medication for diabetes, twice a day before food. Breakfast consists of south Indian items made of rice, wheat, ragi (millet) and sooji. Sometimes, bread with butter and cheese is also taken. A glass of milk after breakfast and before going to bed is the usual practice.

My MOM (77yrs) a diabetic patient. She regularly uses Glycigon-M (500mg) (2 TaB) on the morning and one in night. To control blood sugar levels, doctor has prescribed Glycomet (500 mg) 1 Tab in Morning and night. After starting Glycomet, she complained that getting loosemotion in Black color. After discontinuing Glycomet, her motion turned inti Brown color. Now stool test is required or not??? Awaiting doctors reply. Urgent.
