Long Term Side Effects Of Harvoni (Page 3)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I had Harvoni treatment last spring. I am not the same. My nervous system is a wreck. My anxiety problems have increased, depression and lack of motivation. My eyes changed drastically. My thoughts are not focused, I am nervous all the time, can focus or sleep. I had a 2 month migraine. Ringing in the ears is intense. I also was on pigalated interferon and ribivirn, I was pulled off mid treatment because I got so sick. After that treatment, I also had long term side effects. There isn't any back support for post harvoni people, nor are their anyone specializing in the after effect of long term HCV infection, it is NOT just a liver disease, it effects the nervous system and all else. I am at a loss for support with the doctors in my area, none seem to want to do any research and they don't have enough people in individual offices to report they have patients with long term problems. In our groups there are many with long term side effects. The doctor's try to pin it all on other stuff without really knowing. They just aren't listening. I know my body, I know the changes I have experienced. I am just really disappointed that there is not knowledgeable people out there for post HCV and post treatment hcv survivors. I need a support team that listens, they don't. I have extreme frustration to the lack of support after treatment.

I guess nothing to worry about. Elevated does not mean high. I'm miserable at any level. I'm bound to try and stay positive that things have got to get better after I'm done . I guess I just have to wait and see . 18 pills to go. I still do not consider this a gift by any means. Thanks for the interest.

Re: Dan (# 219) Expand Referenced Message

Just go to the fleming-law site. You can do a live chat or write a letter. I did both. An attorney will be calling me on Monday, along with many other people I know in agony since treatment. Good luck. Maybe Gilead will own up to the deaths, side effects, and harm done post treatment....praying. We all need to write and call this company. The more people they hear from the better.

Do you mind sharing the attorney link you mentioned? I believe all of us should get on board with a class action lawsuit. Honestly, they didn’t tell us how dangerous and detrimental this drug is for the body.

Re: Audrey (# 29) Expand Referenced Message

Yes I believe it from Harvoni as I have been diagnosed with gastrophoresis and have lost a lot of weight, malnourished and also have diabetes. I felt much better before Harvoni. I want to find a class action lawsuit to join as I would have not taken the treatment with this side effect.

Re: Edie (# 216) Expand Referenced Message

The weird thing is the email I sent that attorney is not in my sent folder, I may have to call them to make sure they got it? It is high time someone listen to us and our issues after harvoni! Now I wonder if any of our letters are being seen at all? Are they just going into a junk mail box? I even added the high alert and signed if read to the email? Or am I imagining things and it wasn't sent via my email but via their system? BRAIN FOG I can't remember, maybe I will let this brain fog have myself send another letter to that attorney group.

Re: Cieira (# 207) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you Cieira. I feel awful and I have to move before the end of the month. Everything has gone wrong since I took that poison and I was in the hospital for A week and I am still in pain and absolutely no relief from my doctors. I hope that nobody else has had their bowels removed after taking this stuff. It is not so much the pain that bothers me as my depression over how I am being treated. I can't believe there isn't a class action yet. I did contact the lawyers below today. Maybe some day we will get some justice. I pray for all of us.

Re: HepCFree (# 209) Expand Referenced Message

I sent them a text and was answered right away. They said someone will be calling me within 24 hours. I was surprised someone was working so late-8:30 at night (Texas time, CST).

Re: HepCFree (# 209) Expand Referenced Message

I just sent them a letter. It is easy to just write down all that has happened to us since treatment. Let's hope Gilead owns up to the issues we are having, and not just the death cases/liver cancer.

blondie (# 207) --

What does the doctor say about your enzymes elevated at this point in treatment? I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you fell like crap on Harvoni, it doesn't go away afterwards! I am 3 1/2 years post treatment and I am a mess still. Pain is my companion and I feel like I am surviving not living anymore.

Re: Skpp930 (# 206) Expand Referenced Message

Perhaps our time has come. I found this online today:

fleming-law.com/blog/2017/november/drug-induced-injuries-from-harvoni-sovaldi-and-v

Looks like this Fleming Law in TX is looking at Hep C drug injuries. Be sure to give them a call or you can put your info in online.

I am currently taking Harvoni. I have 20 days left. Believe me folks, it's not for sissys! This s*** is awful! I feel like crap and have since I started. My dr has been good to deal with side effects but nevertheless, there are side effects! The pain in my body, the nausea, and the depression gets a bit overwhelming at times. My liver enzymes are now elevated but why not, it's sorta a type of chemotherapy! I read 'be thankful for the gift that's given' but believe me its not any gift I have ever received!! Although the hcv has read undetected I will be so thankful to be done with this s***! Listen, People live a normal decent life for 20-30 yrs with hep c and I wonder if that would have been better than all the repercussions of Harvoni trmt. I am 58 next week and to live another 10-15 yrs with hep I prob could have handled better. So people need to think about receiving a 'gift' like this! Now Im not blind to the fact that my lifestyle got me into this mess but I beat addiction. I beat the endless nights of my nefarious ways but I have a feeling the effects from this drug I will never beat. They are many! I will stop here but I want to say this has not been a picnic and I don't believe the lasting effects will be easier. Love to all!!!

Re: Edid (# 203) Expand Referenced Message

I am so sorry to hear your news of all the pain, and yes anyone with physical pain is now considered a drug addict looking for pain meds, left in waiting rooms for hours. I am surprised there have been no deaths from any of us waiting in the hospital being labeled as a drug addict or crazy... It makes me sick. I hope you are feeling better and I do believe Harvoni is the cause of all our horrible symptoms. God help us as we are lost, some losing their homes, living off the retirement too early and being denied Disability Social Security. We need a lawsuit but not even Erin Brockovich will look at our case, I guess she doesn't even want to take on big pharma.

Re: Edid (# 205) Expand Referenced Message

No lawyers want to take on this Gilead. I am amazed they black boxed this medicine. That's one step in the right direction. GOD, be with all of us who took this poison!

Re: Enoughalready (# 204) Expand Referenced Message

Yes, that is how mine started. They found a bleeding ulcer a year ago along with this big polyp in colon. I felt terrible yesterday. That terrible pain that ended in surgery came on so suddenly it was weird and so scary. I hope it never happens again and I hope you never get it. It was like having a baby, but there were no breaks at all in the pain. I could barely walk. I just wonder how many pieces of my intestines have been put back together. I wasn't even believed that I was in severe pain until the CT scan 5 hours later. I remember grabbing my nice surgeon and begging him for something to put me out. I don't think i let go of him until the anesthesiologist arrived. It is too bad he is on vacation because his dad is mean and the son is so nice. Yes, my stomach has been burning for almost 2 years. They were inj. Pepcid into my stomach in the hospital. Maybe you should get some. Also, maybe you should get a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy to make sure you have no polyps. A CT scan also, but you would have to find a gastroenterologist who knows how bad Harvoni is. Good luck with that as that is their bread and butter now. I really hope you are okay. I have to show move this month too! lol. I sold my house and rented in this horrible complex. I didn't know. I never really unpacked Thank God. I do thank God that I am alive. I am surprised really because they did nothing but tell me to be quiet in the ER for 5 hours. My health history has no record of me going to hospitals and urgent cares looking for opiates. They just wanted to believe I only wanted drugs. I would have left, but I couldn't physically and I knew they were going to end up doing surgery. I threw up a few times and the nurses just threw a towel at me! lol. I got most in the bag. It was awful until I got the CT scan. Omg, we need a class action against Gilead. I am surprised there isn't one yet. Of course, my colorectal surgeon won't be reporting anything about the Harvoni. I hope you feel okay today. I hope we all start feeling better.

Re: Edid (# 203) Expand Referenced Message

My stomach is bothering me quite a bit too. Painful where I think I might now have an ulcer or gastritis. Bloating etc. Fed up with living in fear of dying an early death from all of this crap.
