How are you doing? I am very sorry bout the problems you've been having. However, what is your current blood pressure and heart rate running? If they are going high, then that may also be causing your symptoms. Since you weren't on it for long, the medication shouldn't still be causing them. ## I just took it and it was 122/83 pulse rate 80 no more issues

After almost 4 years on Lisinopril 5mg, I started experiencing moderate dizziness and drowsiness. The symptoms begin about 1-2 hours after I take my medicine, and peak about 4 hours after taking it. I saw another person on the forums just recently had a similar issue which they had linked to a change in the manufacturer. Interestingly enough, I was able to pinpoint the day that my problems started - and it happened to be on the day I had my prescription refilled. On a whim, I checked my Walgreens and sure enough, in the past 30 days, they had also switched to a new manufacturer as well. I'm checking with my doctor now, but thought I would post this here in case anyone else finds it helpful. ## Hello, Paul! How are you? There's a chance that the new tablets you received are a lit...

I just started on 5mg of Lisinopril. I feel a little tired while exercising but nothign else so far - how long does it take side effects to start if you're going to have them? ## You should start experiencing them within a few days after you start the medication and they will usually last anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks, which is about the same amount of time that it takes your body to get used to the medication. Learn more Lisinopril details here. From personal experience, the side effect I can tell you to keep any eye out for is the dry cough. When I was taking it, it took about 2 months for that to start and nothing relieves it, other than stopping the medication and switching to something else. The problem with it though, is that the cough is similar to the one you may get at the sta...

Age 44 Female, family history of heart attacks, strokes, hypertension. Finally went to the internist after feeling weird for about one year--I kept testing high BP repeatedly over the last year. I have 6 members of my family on lisinopril. Day One Lisiniopril HCTZ Report. To ease into it, I took a half pill (10 mg pill cut in half, so 5 mg). Side effects started within 2 or 3 hours. I had a (all too often these days) migraine when I woke up, so I cannot blame the drug for that. After I woke up, I took my BP 131/85, Pulse 83. Then I took my first half pill. Side effects: dry raspy irritated throat, it made it harder to talk at work, pretty bad muscle stiffness and cramping up and down my back (OUCH), general fatigue, weakness in arms, i tried to lift a laundry basket and i felt both of m...

for over 3 weeks have had serious issues with my lips, tongue, overall inside mouth raw, and sandpaper texture...like plastic....severly dry all day and impossible at night. Tried all OTC products no avail....seems lisinopril MUST BE THE CAUSE> any one else. ## What is your current dosage? Lisinopril can cause dry mouth and dehydration, so yes, it could be the cause, however, your symptoms sound much more severe than normal. Have you contacted your doctor about this, yet? You will probably need a dosage reduction or a switch to a different medication. ## I have been getting swollen areas around the mouth which started about every other day and would disappear usually within 12 to 15 hrs. this happened for about 3 wks. then stopped for 1 month. Would a Dr prescribe isosorbide to replace lisinopril or could it be in addition to lisinopril as one is for blood pressure and the other for chest pain? ## Hello, Martin! How are you? In this case the best thing to do would be to ask the doctor. The answer could go either way and we'd just be guessing. However, a simple call to their office should provide you with a fairly fast answer. They are frequently prescribed together, but that really depends on the diagnosis. What exactly are you being treated for?

I have been taking lisinapril for my blood pressure for about a month and a half. About the same time I started the lisinapril I developed this cough that keeps me up most nights and a lot during the day also my nose will just start running. The doctor changed my medicine a week ago but I still have the cough. How long until the lisinapril is out of my system? ## Hello, Cathy! How are you? I'm very sorry about the cough issue, the same thing happened to me, when I tried Lisinopril. It took about 2 weeks for it to wear off for me. Which medication did he switch you to?

I want to know if it will hurt to take lisinop hctz in place of lisinpril just one time? ## Hello, Barb! How are you? The HCTZ stands for Hydrochlorothiazide, which is a diuretic that helps remove excess fluid from the body and it might not be safe for you to take. Have you checked with your doctor? Did you run out of your regular Lisinopril?

Was taken 1 tablet daily of bisoprolol/hctz tab 10/6.25. My Dr changed med to lisinopril tab 20mg once a day. Would two tabs of bisoprolo above be the same as the lisinopril? ## Hello, Jack! How are you? No, they are not the same going by what you've listed. The Bisoprolol/HCTZ actually contains 2 ingredients, the Hydrochlorothiazide being a diuretic, so your doctor has basically removed that and has you just taking a blood pressure medication, now. Did your doctor say why they were making the changed?

Can I take two 5mg of Lisinopril to equal 10mg of Lisinopril? ## Hello, Teresa! How are you? Yes, the only time this would be a problem would be if the formulations were different, for instance if one was time released and one wasn't. But yes, if you already have some 5mg ones and your doctor raised it to 10mg, then you can usually just go ahead and double up to finish what you already have. Is there anything else I can help with?
