Can anyone give me any information on Lisinopril HCTZ?

I've been taking Lisinop/hctz 10-12-5 for 2 and half weeks and I have several rashes on both arms.

This medication, Lisinop/HCTZ, is horrible. I started taking it two days ago, and, this morning at the gym, I vomited violently and nearly fainted. Since then, I've been coughing and vomiting all day. I'm lethargic and feverish. I read the side effects and noticed that it discourages any activites that cause excessive sweating. If the patient is to lead a sedentary life while taking this med., imagine what other maladies would develop in place of the high blood pressure! This is absurd!

It was my understanding from my physician that lisinop also contains a diuretic. This was an issue for me for several days after beginning the medication, but it has gotten better.

I just started taking this about a week ago. I'm on the lowest dosage. No severe side affects at all. Some mild dizziness, and I had a mild headache yesterday that might be because of it. My blood pressure is a lot better too.

Do you take this pill at night? Does it need to be with food?

My dose is 20-12.5 X 2, daily. I developed the cough but it has been very effective at controlling my BP. I get nausea at night when I cough very hard but no other side effects.

After getting and taking new blood pressure medic lisinop-HCTZ 20- 25 mg from my doctor. My throath felt like it was swollen up,got dizziness,and chest pains.

I have developed chronic cough.
I have been miserable trying to breath. Im stopping the medication and will be getting a different prescription!!

I take Lisinop/HTC and also have a mild cough as some have mentioned. My sough is usually when I lay down at night, just a tickle in my throat that I take a throat sough drop or cough syrup (maybe 1/4 teaspoon, extrememly small dosage), just to relieve the tickle. I have been experiencing muscle cramps since taking the medication. Nothing too severe though, mostly cramping in the rib cages. You know it seems to me that most of the people posting to this website do not ask questions before taking new medications. I asked my doctor of all of the known side affects and researched them myself before taking a single pill.

Here are the listed side affects: Generally, side effects of lisinopril are mild and either require no treatment or are easily treated. Common side effects include chest pain, stomach pain, and fatigue. Rare side effects include heart palpitations, pancreatitis, and unexplained weight loss. Some side effects of lisinopril should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider, such as difficulty breathing or swallowing, unexplained skin rash, and unexplained swelling of the hands or feet. Please for everyone's sake, research any medication prior to taking.

Wow this website has been SO much help! I couldn't understand why I was having such a bad time with this cough and drainage and eyes watering all the time. Now at least I have an idea. I will calling my doctor tomorrow and saying No More!

I have developed a sore throat and cough which chokes me so much my eyes are constantly watering. I have to constantly drink or eat cough drops. I know that if I lose 10 lbs. my blood pressure will return to normal but I cannot function with this sore throat, etc.

Bob it depends on what pharmicy you use cause each has their own comp they order their drugs from but mine were white, i meant to give an update, sence my dr took me off them, im no longer coughing and my head stop hurting and my chest pains went away and man guys im even getter my energy back, so i am happy im off them but please check with your Dr s befor doing anything as i dont want nonthing to happene to you wonderful people.. just think i was on these from another dr for a year and i thought i was dieing, ohh what a difference sence the new doc took me off..

I never had the bad hacking coughs til i started taking this lisinop.hctz i decided to look up the 3 blood pressue pills im having to take and this one not to take it if you have asthma i told my dr about the hacking cough i mean it was so bad i was choking and even got worried i had this emphacima and asthma but come to find out its this med im taking i have a drs appt tomorrw and im telling her about it again..

On Lisino/hctz since 9/28.
have the dry cough but now in the past 3 weeks experiencing moderate
left leg cramps at night 0200 am and when sitting for prolonged periods tried bananas and milk no help advil aleve tynol muscle no help
any suggestions getting no sleep now

It took me two months to make the connection with the new BP med Lisinop/HCTZ and having a servere cough and constant sinus drainage. I would cough so hard that I would throw up. It took 3 trips to the doctor and my suggesting that it started at the same time as the new meds for the decision by the doctor that it was the BP med. I had the cough for a good 2 weeks after coming off the medicine......NOW no cough or getting sick!

I started taking lisinop/hctz 20-12.5
july 28 09, The month no symptoms. I picked up my second
refill, about a week of taking it i started coughing and gaggging. I pulled a muscle by gagging and also i started bleeding out of my left nostril. Sept 3rd i went to my doctor and she took me off the med. Since then i don't cough as much but i;ve developed new symptoms dry mouth and a strange cough(e.g. whoooping)

I am taking lisinopz and I have been in the sun a great deal and I have developed some sort of rash all over my arms. Could this be from the medicine.

if u have low blood pressure should you stop drinking LISINOL /HCTZ or take it every other day.

Lisinop/HCTZ, has giving me gastritis, Dr. keeps telling me to take Pepcid. Instead of giving me antibotics to get rid of it. New Doctor here I come.
