When I take linzess with food it gives me severe diarrhea Will this be sufficient to clear me out for a colonoscopy ? ## Hello, Jen! How are you? It would be best to double check with your doctor. Sometimes that doesn't fully cleanse, so something else may still be required. Other side effects of Linzess, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, bloating and flatulence. Suprep tastes awful and causes some discomfort for about an hour each round, but it effectively cleans the colon. A yearly cleansing of this sort seems like it would be beneficial to colon health and getting rid of toxins. Not sure though if it is safe and if any physician would prescribe it in this way or if it is even permitted. Any medical professionals who could answer this? ## Hello, Magpie! How are you? The first is Bisacodyl (5 mg), which is typically prescribed for relief of constipation. And the other pill is Citalopram hydrobromide (10 mg); which is an antidepressant drug used to treat major depression associated with mood disorders. Do either of these two drugs sound familiar? The Bisacodyl pill appears to be more of a shiny reflective color of orange with the number 5 in black font if that helps! I am suffering from chronic constipation for the last more tan 15 years. Once my doctor prescribed Lactihep syrup to be taken before retiring for the night. Initially, it helped, but now its effect is wearing off. My stool is clay like and sticky and it is insufficient in quantity. Due to this, I pass gas quite often and once the gas is passed, my motions simply stop. I also suffer from chronic low back ache which worsens one the constipation sets in. I've been getting stomach cramps for a week and a half now . Every time I rush to the washroom waning to pass stools , it's either just too watery or nothing at all. It just gets aggravated post meals . Started ayurved, didn't help . Doc said its giardiasis ,put me on secnil , rabesec dsr which didn't provide complete relief but worsened my constipation. I have a small round yellow pill with the marking of a building or some type of structure inside a circle. I'm sure it's in the laxative family, but are you aware of any pill that fit's this description and/or would you happen to know the name of it?

I take thyroid meds and Migraine Meds....How do I ensure that the Linzess isn't "getting rid of" these meds before they are in my system? I'm taking the thyroid meds 1 hour before (as required) the Linzess and the Topamax with my breakfast. Is that the right order? I too had cancer and have suffered chronic constipation... I have tried Miralax and due to the company going over the counter they gave me generic anf that did not work as well. The dosage of powder too was ovwewheminf.I have tried colon cleanses that guarantee cleansing and bowel movwments as well as deoxification. Nothing. Everything becomes impacted along with the food that has been consumed. Enemas and colonic only left me bloated and in pain.Laxatives are of no help either. Hot teas offer relaxation but no bowel movements. Castor oil offers some releif but it take 4 TBS.!!! Epsom salt makes me throw up etc etc...I have currently been given GENTILAX from Mexico. I read somewhere that I could pre mix Miralax in the morning for Colonoscopy prep day and leave the mixture in the fridge all day so I didn't have to take time to mix when I get home from work. So I did, then I had to reschedule my procedure before I got home from work for 3 days later. Would the mixture still be good? Or do I need to buy more? ## As per the manufacturer's instructions - "Do not mix the MiraLAX earlier than the morning before your procedure." They don't go on to mention any particular reason why (which I find odd - and perhaps that information should be questioned), but for now it sounds like your best bet would be to start fresh and then follow protocol again. I have tested positive for pain meds several times after nottaking any for 6-9 days. Ido not know how the meds are still showing up after that length of time. A urologist told me that my bladder does not empty completely when I urinate and I have IBS and may not go to bathroom but 2-3 times a month, is there anyway possible that this is the reason the pain meds show up so many days after taking them? ## Yes. Stool Softener, AKA Docusate Sodium, commonly comes in 50mg and 100mg soft gels. I too have OIC (Opioid-Induced Constipation). Docusate Sodium is but one part of my regimen for my personal amount of Opioids. I also take a capful of Miralax almost every day. I also take 4 Docusate Sodium Softgels of 100mg each for a total of 400mgs. I'll take the softgels every other day. Now for a specific answer to your question: 1 soft gel of Docusate Sodium is a stool softener, of course. 2 softgels is a doubling of the stool softener and are simply just more stool softener. my friend just had to be drug tested for court & the urine test came back positive for THC. he does NOT smoke, so it HAS to be a false reading. the only medications he takes are suboxone (prescribed by his doctor) & miralax .. could either of these medications cause a false positive for THC in a urine test? ## If he tested positive for THC there's something he's not telling you. Hello! I have been on Linzess for almost a year and a half. I have always taken it right before dinner and I would have a bm before bed every night. However, just three weeks ago I had to have colon surgery and the linzess is not working as well. Some days I will go to the bathroom a million times and some days not at all. I was wondering if my surgery could anything to do with this problem? Also should I continue to take the linzess? So far I am having varied results with Linzess. One day I'm going all day, one day nothing, one day it is a "normal" one/two time bowl movements, and then another I'm rushing in my car to find a public restroom. I usually take it at the same time every morning. The varied results happen at varied times. Morning, afternoon, and/or evening. I was wondering if taking it at night would help with trying to get it on a regular schedule? ## I take mine at night all the time and it is working well. I go in the morning and have no problem through the day.
