I have been taking Deriphylin Retard 150 twice daily - Morning and Evening in connection with the suspected Asthma and breathing problem. As a result I have developed swollen gums and ulcerated tongue. Is it because of this medicine? If so, can you suggest some alternative or a cure? I am also taking Pan D and cream lax for constipation.

I took 2 tablets instead of 1 of the above tablets. Feeling dizzy & sick , what do I do? ## Hello, Carel! How are you? Did you experience any other adverse effects? The FDA warns that taking too much of this medication could cause other effects, such as headache, constipation, severe drowsiness, and dry mouth. Why did you take 2? It is never a good idea to take more than the prescribed dosage.

Hey y'all, I was on fentanyl 100 for 15 yrs, it worked or at least helped me lead a normal life. I have secondary progressive multiple sclerosis & basically all they can do is help the pain. I got off the 100 myself because of a bowel blockage. Major fun & games, NOT! Few months ago i went back, started on 25 then 50 & now 75. I feel absolutely no dif in my pain. Trying to get in to see a doc very soon. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE WITH FENTANYL? No Relief at all? It's all soo freaking depressing. So f****n sad. Thank you. ## Hello, Alexie! How are you? If you still have a tolerance built up, then the lower dosages would not help. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizzines...

I had a CT scan and an endoscopy and next is an ultrasound and more blood work. Anybody have anything like this ? ## This can occur due to genetics, some medications, or extra folds/loops in the intestine/colon area, according to the NIH. Usually, the primary symptom is severe or chronic constipation. In some cases, it requires surgery to be corrected. There are also cases where it's occurred due to an infection, so proper treatment would be required, if that is the case. I have a friend that had it, years ago. Hers was simple to fix, when she was having surgery for something else, the doctor untwisted it for her, at the same time, rather than putting her under anesthesia multiple times. Not all may be that simple, of course. Does anyone else have experience with this condition?

I used Go Lightly 7 years ago and it worked but it tasted horrible and I had a stomach ache from it. My friend used Prepopik and she related how easy it was. I just returned from my colonoscopy and I was cleaned out fine. I was allowed a very small, protein breakfast of one egg, white toast and plain yogurt. I finished this at 6:15 AM. I drank 32 oz. of fluid thru 11:30 AM and then took the first pack of Prepopik. (followed by 5 -8 oz glasses of additional liquid. It took until 2 pm for it to begin working. At 4:30 I took the second dose(and 3 more 8 oz glasses of liquid) and was done by 8 PM. I was up two times(at night) to use the bathroom after that. My appointment was at 6:30 AM today and all was fine. This prep was much more tolerable and I will utilize it again. I have gluten issues

Does $90.00 sound right for 2 bottles and one cup? ## Suprep is a bowel prep kit that works by cleaning out your bowels for medical procedures, it contains: sodium sulfate, potassium sulfate, and magnesium sulfate. And it is a name brand product that is fairly new to the market, so that price isn't surprising. Are there any other comments or questions? ## The price is out of sight, since the ingredients are inexpensive and the plastic container is also cheap. On the other hand, there are start up costs, advertising fees and regulatory costs, but still $90! There should be no shortage of patients since everybody, it seems,is having a colonoscopy done (and hating every minute of the prep) ## This is a total rip off, my friend has this done and he paid $75 for 2 bottles, and he has rea...

There is a pill out for constipation caused by opioids. I need it found out. There also is a medical term given to this condition. It's new and I saw it on tv earlier this month. But I can't remember what it was called. I need it so I can tell my doctor to prescribe me the medicine for my constipation caused by the opioids that I take for pain from him. Can you help me? ## Hello, April! How are you? Opioid Induced Constipation. The name of one of the medications is Relistor. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, abdominal pain, diarrhea and tremors. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Mpathia RI: Newest opioid induced constipation med is Movantik, Relister and one other. The bad news is you pay $200.00 at the very least with every...

The pill is hot pink and it's the size of a mini m&m. It has the letters DW on one side and it's blank on the other. It is round. I do believe it's an over-the-counter drug. ## Hi Violet, I haven't found an exact match to your pill, but from what others have mentioned, I think it may be "Dulcolax for Women" (an over-the-counter laxative containing Bisacodyl). Someone else was told that their pink pill was a generic oxycodone 20mg tablet. However, Dulcolax for Women seems to make a lot more sense with the abbreviated imprint "DW"; seeing as they haven't confirmed oxycodone to be a possible match either. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Bisacodyl Details Can anyone else confirm this identification? ## That tiny hot pink pill with t...

I have been on Linzess for about 9 months. It was working really well until about a month ago. Now my stools are like small rocks and hard to pass. I sometimes go several times a day but only small amounts at a time. I take 290mcgs every morning at least 30 minutes before I eat. It's usually over an hour before I eat anything. I do drink coffee or Diet Dr Pepper. Can you think of a reason why I'm having problems? ## Hello, Kaye! How are you? Your body might just have become tolerant to the medication, this happens to everyone after having taken something for awhile, for some people one medication may last for years, but for others they can become tolerant much sooner. Linzess has also not been successful for everyone that's tried it, quite a few people reported that it didn...

Hi, I have been taking Linzess 290mg for ibs-c. I have struggled with that since my hysterectomy. I have been taking linzess for some time now and initially it didn't work which is expected. Then.....I had got the diarrhea. I took it like I was supposed to once every day at the same time every day. The diarrhea is a side effect I know of but the side effect I got recently that I do not like is I'm always hungry. After I take linzess and I "empty" every thing because of diarrhea I feel like I am always starving even though my stomach feels full and bloated. I just want and feel like I have to eat. Is this normal? Also I talked to my doctor who said that I could have gastreoperis because my stomach could not be emptying properly when I am not on the meds and when I take it...

Hey yall.. wanted to know if lizness cleanses the colon and if i need to take it everyday. I was looking for something to clean my colon n not have to depend on medication on a daily. Any imput would b appreciated ## Hello, Jamie! How are you? No, it doesn't actually cleanse your colon, it is used as a laxative to induce bowel movements in people that have chronic constipation. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, bloating, diarrhea and dizziness. There is actually no medical proof to the theory of colon cleansing, if there were, doctors would have us all doing it regularly. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you so much for responding and helping me to understand. I will address this with my doctor and entertain other avenues. I truely ...

wow I cant believe my eyes!!! I have ulcerative colitis I was diagnosed with 21 yrs ago. Every 2 years my dr checks me for cancer which means I have at least 10 colonoscopy's....each time I was advised to take magnesium citrate (2 bottles any flavor) and dulcolax tabs 4 in the am, etc, along with clear liquids, popsicles, jello, whatever... Anyway I have never spent more than $15 including the "snacks". I'm not a dr so maybe there's a reason to prescribe this $$$ kit but I would strongly advise asking your dr for a less expensive option. ## Hello, Mika! How are you? Thank you for posting this great advice for others. It is a sad, but true fact that many doctors prescribe the "latest and greatest", without considering the expense to the patient. Doctors are no...

I've been on miralax for 4 months and want to stop it tonight but I'm afraid I'm going to be constipated is it wise to just stop taking it? ## According to ehow.com, "Miralax has no harsh side effects in comparison to other options available. Most laxatives artificially stimulate nerves in the colon. Long-term use of harmful laxatives can cause your bowels to forget how to work on their own; whereas Miralax is non-habit forming and can be used long-term with no concern for permanent damage." That said, I would personally feel safe stopping the medication whenever need be. I haven't read any information linking this drug to withdrawal symptoms so you should be good to go on that end as well. If constipation occurs, I think it would be wise to invest in digestive e...

Any suggestions how to stop using Miralax? I was having constipation issues for last 6-7 years. Doctor suggested Miralax. For last 15 months I am taking 1 dose (17 gr) once day. Although it works, I am scared I will get dependant and that eventually it will stop working. I noticed some slight puffines under my eyes lately. I am also afraid on some impact on my kidneys. I eat mostly - 90% fruit and vegies, very little meat - only fish and chicken, I drink at least 2 l of water daily, do my daily walking. Eating limited amount of bread - only whole wheat. I watch very carely WHAT I eat. No ice cream, no cookies, no beef, no rice, very ltd potatoes, no pasta, no chocolate, no cakes, no pastries. I do everything by the book, I tried Metamucil, but my stool with it is too large and it cost m...

I found a round brown pill with G 159 on it. I'm not sure what it is. If anyone knows what this is, please tell me. ## Its a type of stool softener, it will help constipation, and nausea. It's an over the counter med. I'm gonna try them myself tonight. I'm prescribed pain meds so when I use the bathroom its sometimes uncomfortable. Its called Senna-Lax from Kroger. Sennosides 8.6 mg Tablets. ## Senna is the ingredient. A laxative. Over the counter.

I have taken Lactulose for many years, the last year at a higher dose because the HE/ liver issues have worsened. NO fun, but doable. My insurance won't cover Xifaxin because lactulose exists. I picked up the new Rx at CVS today, but was puzzled by the "Green Coloring" notice. Since I am allergic to so many things, i hesitated--it has ALWAYS BEEN COLORLESS--but tried it anyway. I got one tbs down and gagged so hard I had it come through my nose! Even their website says "clear." (My previous Rx have been "Generlac Lactulose"; I will let my Dr know to ONLY write for that brand.) I DUMPED THE REST OF THE QUALTEST down the drain.

i have piles and i used to take softovac but after taking it now i m suffering from loose motion... please let me know is there any such kind of side effect of it??? Should i drop to take it??? please answer me as soos as possible ## Hello, Knavish! How are you? This is an ayurvedic supplement that is meant to be used as a laxative, thus it is supposed to cause loose motion and you can find other details about it on the manufacturer's website. It will not help with piles. Have you consulted your doctor for advice on how best to treat them?
