I am on Epitec 200 for the past 2 years, after the birth of my son I got a blackout and because of Epilepsy in my family the doctors immediately said that that is what i have. For as long as i can remember i have very sensitive eyes and the dr now said I have photosensitive epilepsy. I want to join my family on a cruise and I know I get seasick, is it safe to use stugeron seasick medication while on Epitec, or what else can i use? Please advise. ## Hi Janey, Sorry to hear about that situation with the blackout. I hope you're doing much better by now. Based on my research there are no drug interactions listed between the active ingredients in Stugeron (cinnarizine) and Epitec (Lamotrigine); deeming them safe to take together. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but ...

I want to now ive I use epitec do I have to eat something in the morning before I drink my epitec and do I have to drink it with water or can I drink it with cooldrink as well? ## Epitec (lamotrigine) comes as a tablet, an extended-release (long acting) tablet, an orally disintegrating tablet (dissolves in the mouth and can be swallowed without water), and a chewable dispersible (can be chewed or dissolved in liquid) tablet to take by mouth with or without food. I'm not sure which one of those you may have, but more specific details on 'how to take this medication' can be viewed in the link below: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a695007.html#how I hope this info helps!

I am just beginning to take the generic of LAMICTAL. what can I expect as side effects. ## Hello, The Generic of Lamictal contains the active ingredient Lamotrigine. Prescribing information for Lamotrigine has a black box warning about life-threatening skin reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, DRESS syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis. The manufacturer states that nearly all cases appear in the first 2 to 8 weeks of therapy and if medication is suddenly stopped then resumed at the normal dosage. Patients should seek medical attention for any unexpected skin rash, as its presence is an indication of a possible serious or even deadly side-effect of the drug. Other side-effects include loss of balance or coordination, double vision, crossed eyes, pupil constriction, blurred v...

White round fairly large tablet one side only LG 100 ## The closest match that I can find is Lamotrigine 100 mg; which has the imprint "G" on one side and "LG 100" on the other. Manufacturer: Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. It also happens to be a Six-sided tablet though, so the only thing I can think of is that they may be manufactured by the same company since they have similar markings. It might be worth a try to contact the manufacturer directly and see if it's one of their own. I went ahead and posted the company's contact page below: mylan.com/contact_us.aspx I hope this at least helps to narrow down your search!

Hi I am on Epitec 200mg I wake up feeing nauseous and gained weight. I have a rash which is persistent. Please advise. My other medication includes rivertrol Cyprimil renetec and Alcera I have been on Epitec for the past two months should I continue or get weaned off the Epitec ## Have you been experiencing these side effects ever since you started taking Epitec or did they begin with Rivertrol, Cyprimil, Renetec, and Alcera? From what I could gather, the active ingredient found in Epitec (Lamotrigine), can cause a hypersensitivity reaction primarily occurring as a rash. I found a brief mention of it here: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1201641/ I would personally suggest weening off of the Epitec, if the rash doesn't go away. Is your doctor aware of the side effects you've been...

Hi. I'm bi-polar 2. Have bee on Epitec 200 mg for 10 months. It has now been increased to 250mg. I've been doing great, the only problem now is the constant headache. Could this be the Epitec? ## I've been on Epitec 300mg for years and have no headache problems. It might effect you differently. Check on the packaging if it could be a side effect. ## @Daleen, These medications can certainly effect each individual differently. To answer your question though, yes, headache is regarded as a severe side effect of Epitec (Lamotrigine), which you should report to your doctor as soon as possible to avoid any worsening of it. For future reference I think the list of side effects in the link below may be of help to you in knowing what you may or may not experience as a result of takin...

If I tAKE lamotrigine daily can i take acxion with it? I am having trouble loosing weight and was advised to take acxion. yet only my psych knows I take lamotrigine. ## Hi Liz, Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between Lamotrigine and Acxion (Phentermine). This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. In other words it is considered to be safe to take these together. I would however recommend that you don't take prescription fat burners, just because of the side effects. In the end you're going to make the decision to take it or not, but keep in mind just exercising for 30min-1hour a day along with plenty of fruits and veggies is the healthies...

Losing faith in my Psychiatrist. Only solution seems to be new or increased meds. This is an anticonvulsant medication that is also used to treat BiPolar disorder. This is a prescription only medication, so it is illegal to have if you do not have a valid doctor's prescription. ## Also, this pill can be VERY dangerous! The use of this medication must be CLOSELY monitored by a doctor. It can cause a very serious skin rash that, if not treated can result in death. PLEASE check your boy for any rashes right away! Alcohol with epitec: I take 25mg Epitec twice daily. Can I consume a glass of wine on special occasions although I am taking Epitec? ## Drinking alcohol while taking Epitec is not recommended. This medication is reported to contain the active ingredient Lamotrigine, which acts as a central nervous system depressant (as does alcohol). If you really did want a glass of wine then it is highly recommended that you check with your prescribing physician first since they are familiar with your full medical history. While it may be okay to drink a single glass of wine (moderation), it is best not to take a chance without knowing if you are specifically at risk for an interaction.
