Lamictal is not for everyone and has very serious side effects. If a doctor says they they want to increase the dosage for possible better effects...STOP. Tell the doctor to try something different and something that has been around for some time. The latest and greatest isn't always the best choice. Sometimes the tried and true are the best. I speak from experience after dealing with it for my wife. ## Hi Tommy, Thank you for your input! You're definitely right. Lamicatal has some pretty serious side effects that can be fatal in some cases. For anyone that doesn't know much about this medication i.e.:uses, side effects, etc.. you can click on the link below: You can learn more about this drug on the page for Lamictal Details If anyone has any questions or more information t...

I take a very small oblong pill scored no markings at all. It is lamictol (sp?) ## Prescription tablets that are approved in the U.S. all have to have imprints to enable their identification, except in certain rare cases, but I did check anyway and no, I am not finding any Lamictal that match this description and don't have any markings. Where did you find it?

I just started taking 400 mg Lamictal twice a day, recently i started seeing minor amounts of blood in my stool. Is this a normal side effect of lamictal? ## How minor? And is it actual red blood, or are you seeing black tarry substances? Learn more Lamictal details here. The reason I'm asking is because blood that's been through your digestive tract would be black. If it's red, it's likely from some other form of irritation, such as hemorrhoids.

Can you take LAMICTAL, AND TOPAMAX FOR SEIZURES, COULD I STILL USE PHENTERMINE ? ## Phentermine is actually contraindicated with any type of brain disorder, or injury. Therefore, if you suffer from a disorder that causes seizures, it is probably not advisable that you take it. Have you discussed it with your doctor? ## If this is a 2-part question ('Can I take Lamictal and Topamax for seizures....), the answer is most certainly YES. I was on the same dual regimen for several years, with excellent seizure control. My Neuro d/c'd the Lamictal, as she was very "rash-hypervigilant". Terrified of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. I developed a rash (bilateral lower legs, not consistent w SJS) and she took me off the Lamictal. The beginning of the end as far as drug effects are concer...

Round white pill marked ZC over 82 is this lamictal? ## Based on the description provided, I found your pill to be Lamotrigine (200 mg). Lamotrigine is an anticonvulsant drug primarily used in the treatment of epilepsy and bipolar disorder. For more information about this drug, please refer to the link below... If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you. ## I am currently taking 100mg lamictal (lamotrigine) once a day for unexplained seizures (im not epileptic). Would taking sibutramine have any affect on lamictal's ability to stop seizures occuring?

Hi. I am currently taking lamictal and zoloft to treat my bipolar disorder. I also have irritable bowel syndrome, and so have been prescribed Duspatalin Retard. I want to know if this drug interacts with any of the 2 drugs I am recently on. Thanks. ## Have you asked your doctor, or pharmacist? I did try to check, but I have to apologize, Dusptalin Retard contains the active ingredient Mebeverine and it isn't available in the U.S, so I can't find any interaction information on it. Your doctor, or pharmacist, however, should be able to advise you.

Hello, My wife takes Lamictal, 200 mg a day for a 10 years. She breastfeeds our baby, and everything is fine with him except blood in his stools once in 2 weeks or so. Can this be a side effect of the drug dossage he is getting through his mother's milk and during the pregnancy ? thank you ## Please consult your child's doctor immediately. Blood in the stool, even in an infant, could be the sign of a serious health issue and only a doctor is going to be able to help you determine the cause. Have you discussed this with your child's doctor, yet? ## Yes I have. The doctor and the specialist (gastroanthologist specialises in children) are runing a set of tests, but besides I wanted to know if there could be a connection to the Lamictal. They say no connection like this is known...

My daughter IS TAKING SIEZURE MEDICATION, LAMICTAL. AND DILLANTAN AND STRATERRA, WILL THIS MEDICINE BE ALRIGHT TO TAKE FOR PAIN ## Hi Angela, Phenazopyridine is used to relieve the pain, burning, and discomfort caused by infection or irritation of the urinary tract. It is not an antibiotic and will not cure the infection itself. Although it may relieve some pain caused by certain urinary conditions, it is in a class of medications known as an Interstitial cystitis agent. This is in general is not a pain medication and in my opinion shouldn't be relied on if the pain is anywhere else but in the urinary tract. On another note, phenazopyridine does not interact with the other medications you mentioned, so if in fact your daughter does have pain in urinary tract, then it would be suffic...

can I take cherratussin while I am on lamictal ## I have been on Lamictal for several years and have been prescribed and taken it several times during that period. I have also taken vicodin and percocet for pain when needed. If you're taking lamictal for BPD (as I am) the danger is not physical. If you tend to the more manic side you should be careful with any medication that has a possible side effect of euphoria. ## I was prescribed cherratussin, what is in it and is there a narcotic in this medicine?

I am currently prescribed Lamictal for bi-polar disorder. I am getting my wisdom teeth out quite soon and as told by doctor, will probably be given vicodin for the pain. Does anyone know if there is any serious reactions being on both things? ## i am prescribed both daily and have no problems at all,,,,,,,,,, ## I would not take them together (ie., at the same time). I would try to put a two or three hour spread between them. Also split Lamictal dose if your pdoc says it is alright- take 1/2 your daily dose in the AM and 1/2 in the PM. The hydrocodone may not have the full pain management effect depending on your lamictal dosage. If in doubt, always ask your PHARMACIST. They can look up drug interactions and recommendations easily.

I am currently taking 1-100mg of lamictal once a day, 1-25mg of celexa a day, and 1-.25mg of xanax 3-4 times a day. Is it safe to also take the 1-25mg of hydroxyz pam for sleeping at night? ## Have you consulted your doctor about this? The interaction that I'm finding listed is between the Xanax and the Hydroxyzine, since they both can cause depression of the central nervous system, combining them can increase the risk of that occurring. CNS depression could result in shallow breathing, lowered pulse rate, severe sedation and, in extreme cases, completely circulatory/respiratory shut down.

Hi I've been taking Lamictal 125 bd for about 6 months and recently had added in Lexam 20mg, upped from 10mg which I was on for a month or so. Both are for Bipolar II. I am sole parent of an active nearly 3 year old, with no family support and not living in my country of origin. Over the last month I have noticed weight gain - from no weight gain on 10 mg Lexam and have been experiencing almost debilitating exhaustion - flatness, extreme fatigue, lethargy. I pick up around 4 pm! It's affecting my parenting, and my ability to enjoy life (I want to exercise more, and acheive more in the day, but am tired). I average about 7 hours sleep a night, but am coming out of a bad patch of betwen 5 and 7 due to my daughter waking early (LOL). With these drugs, could the exhaustion/weight ga...

how soon can you present with a reaction to lamectal, blistered on lip and rash all over only started 2.5days ago taking 1/2 of a 25mg tablet ## I will assume that you are talking about Lamictal (spelling correction) Please seek medical attention ASAP: "Lamotrigine prescribing information has a black box warning about life threatening skin reactions, including Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis.[9] The manufacturer states that nearly all cases appear in the first 2 to 8 weeks of therapy and if medication is suddenly stopped then resumed at the normal dosage. Patients should seek medical attention for any unexpected skin rash as its presence is an indication of a possible serious or even deadly side effect of the drug. Not all rashes that occur while taking lamot...
