Klonopin Brand Name (Page 2) (Top voted first)

I've been unable to find Klonopin (brand name) at any pharmacy. Although I've taken this medication for several years, this is the first time I've been unable to find it. I've been told the manufacturer (Roche) has it on backorder. Some say it's no longer available. I cannot take the generic as I get a serious migraine. Does anyone have any suggestions where I might get a Rx filled?

It is unavailable right now the manufactor hopes to have it back in production in October. It has not been discontinued, it is some type of manufacturing ingredient. Hope this helps , I too can't take the generic but have had too cause of this being back ordered right now. And yes I've had 3 migraines

Have you called Genetech (the manufacturer of Klonopin) 1-877-436-3683 recently to report your reactions to the generics. Their safety department recorded everything I told them about my terrible experiences with the generics. Please pass this on to everyone you know that is desperate to get the real Klonopin!!!! I think we should all flood them with calls asking when Klonopin will be available.

It's a quality control issue on one of the inactive ingredients. Some people need it to control Seizures e.g. me. The named brand is the best at doing that for me.

I hope they have it available soon. The FDA ( when it was updated on August 27th) projected the supply to be available in October 2014. That is the way it is worded " The Supply " so that would indicate if the supply is available then it should be ready for a refill. They assured me they were not discontinuing it and also said they are doing everything they possibly can to have it back on the market as quickly as possible. Let me know if anyone hears anything from them or any updates at all.

Called Krogers today asked them to check with their wholesaler. Their wholesaler showed a date of Nov. 20.

Kroger pharmacist told me that may fluctuate as they get more information.

Pharmaceutical companies are required by law to report to the FDA in these matters a projected date. The FDA official website updated August 27th states it is unavailable and expected to resume supply October. I hope FDA updates their website so we will know more.

I sent an extensive email to Tara Goodin, at [email protected]. She is the contact at the FDA for reporting adverse events, etc. Not only did I discuss adverse reactions to generic KLONOPIN, but also the lack of information made available to patients taking this drug. I complained that no only did any of my doctors seem to be aware but also the pharmacy didn't have any advance notice. I expounded upon the adverse affects this issue has caused for me and resulted in 3 visits to the ER. I decided not to mention that I would like to file a malpractice suit against my psychiatrist but if he had no knowledge, he should have. Oh, well, just another attempt to get attention to this issue.

well mark at least you can sleep mind does the exact opposite I cant sleep at all I am shaky and sick to my stomach and losing weight I cant take this anymore

Roche has resumed distribution of all strengths of Klonopin Tablets on October 28, 2014. It's just a matter of time. Mine is waiting to be filled at the pharmacy. They are waiting on the order to arrive but no deliveries on the weekend. Suppose to be the first part of the week. I'll let you know.

Vernon, Xanax would be too short acting for someone use to taking klonopin. Valium or Ativan would be a better choice, IMHO. Just thought I would let you know this if you didn't know the difference between them already. I believe the OP would have to take Xanax way too often to get the effect of klonopin or even a stronger mg. Anyone else know?

Good News: I got Brand Name Klonopin last week.
Bad News: they are NOT the same as old ones.
It's like a New Generic.

I took my last 'Old Stock' Klonopin the night before the I got the new ones. (after 20 yrs of taking it)
NOT the same.
It's a New formulation IMO despite same look.

Klon -- I agree the brand Klonopin that's on the market now isn't the same as the prior version. I only take it at night and I've been waking up about every 2-3 hours. Very disappointed. Maybe I'll adjust.

You may notice a difference in Brand name because apparently it is now made at a different plant. If you check the following site you will see that the 0.5 mg was made in Switzerland as of Dec. 2013: medlibrary.org/lib/rx/meds/klonopin

Now, the new brand name 0.5 mg is made in Mexico. It says so on the new bottles.

Roche's seem to work the same as they did before they stopped production for me.

Been on Klonopin for 10 years with a Name brand script necessary .

I will say during the shutdown Teva worked the best but its made to sedate faster and harder which in turn makes the dose not last as long as Roche's. Horrible trade off. You'll take more pills.

What are you taking Klonopin for? Seems like you may have OCD. Don't know but I don't appreciate being address like I'm ignorant. I spoke to the Pharmacist at Gene. and he told me that there has been NO formula change at all. That is was exactly the same. What makes you think the Swiss would do any better? Gene is in San Fran, it's a heck of a lot closer to Mexico, ( Just across the border) then Swiss.

So far, I haven't noticed a difference but if I obsess about it long enough I will.

I have OCD as part of my overall major anxiety issues and I don't need this kind of crap!

I started taking the "new" Klonopin Brand towards the end of October, 2014. It is definitely NOT the same as the original. I suspect it was slowly being changed over the past couple of years. I think the narcotic part has been eliminated. I do not sleep the same and have strange side effects on the "new" Klonopin. As someone above mentioned, it's similar to generic Klonopin that never worked on me before. Because my insurance should now pay for Klonopin Brand, and the prescription is written for a long period of time, suggests to me that my suspicions about the changes are correct. Rots of ruck!

I've never been able to take the generic... gave me major migraines. And, yes, I do not react the same to the brand since it became available again last year. I'm waking up in the wee hours of the morning.
