Klonopin Brand Name (Page 7) (Top voted first)

I've been unable to find Klonopin (brand name) at any pharmacy. Although I've taken this medication for several years, this is the first time I've been unable to find it. I've been told the manufacturer (Roche) has it on backorder. Some say it's no longer available. I cannot take the generic as I get a serious migraine. Does anyone have any suggestions where I might get a Rx filled?

Hi Bonita, who said anyone was IV'ing Klonopin? I am at a loss for words!! I am sorry that it was even said at all. I too am no means a junkie. As a matter of fact I know a bunch of people that are on H who insufflate it, along with using H. For the record I use to work for A drug Rehab Hospital in Mass and yes they would take any benzo or pain med they could find and insufflate it. The ones they would inj. are the pain meds like oxy . Sorry someone implied you were doing this. first of all people that do not realize that a Doctor would never prescribe Brand name if the person did not need it. Also a Doctor can tell when Klonopn is being abused and that speaks volumes.

Called 2 pharmacies: Neither one acutally called the wholesaler to see, they just looked on the computer and said the computer is still showing that the manufacturer is out. I explained that they just started shipping, but neither one would call the wholesaler. It's frustrating.

Have they actually started to ship? Has Genetech produced it and started shipping any out yet I wonder? Only a couple of days left in October. I hope I can get my rx before long as I can't take generic. If anyone finds out anything, please let us know. The latest on the FDA is the same out date ( August 27th) where it is expected to resume supply October. This is so stressful.

HI Mark I called wall greens and the pharmacist asked me for my script number to see if she could get it for me. I do not fill my scripts there. I have been been with rite aide for 16 years I fill all my meds there and at the same store. The way she spoke it sounded like she could have gotten it . She even asked what Strength I took. I think I am calling my Pharmacy. This would be a refill so I cant transfer. I am going to call my med Doc and ask for a new script I want to see if Wal greens can get it. In NH they hate given anything Brand name > I am on ssdi so its state health Insurance and the state of NH is well not so nice to the people like me or to the Pharmacies. I will let you know Mark . Sorry for any typos I have severe eye allergies and they burn and water.. I will let you know as soon as I can. However she sounded like she coud get them.

Hi all - my Walgreens pharmacy tech who really caters to my brand needs called their wholesaler yesterday. She told me I wasn't going to be happy because the wholesaler said no Klonopin until December 2014. And that was for all mg strengths, not just my particular dosage. I'm in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, so I'm not sure if this is going to be a location based thing for when it does actually start being available again.

I'm rather irritated as I was just prescribed this not only for some mild anxiety, but mostly to counteract the side effects of two stimulants I have to take to counteract the symptoms of Narcolepsy! I had an old bottle of the brand Klonopin and used that up and life was good for a few days. Now I'm stuck with generic that doesn't seem to work. I read somewhere it has to do with the binders and fillers not allowing the tablet to dissolve properly.

Fwiw, Teva brand has the most similar list of ingredients to brand klonopin, povidone and colorants being the only differences between the two (as well as the order of ingredients, i.e., first ingredient has the most included in the pill). I will be requesting teva from my pharmacy as I'm taking Mylan brand and it is not doing what it's supposed to.

I take teva also runningfox. For me it's probably the closest to name brand but I still have a side effects from it. More of a fast very strong sedative effect for me (same dosage as name brand). It also does not seem to be as effective for a long period like name brand.

I one who has difficult swallowing a pill and the named brand dissolves easily. Can anyone tell me if the Teva brand Klonopin dissolves similar or as easy? I tried genetic from pure pac and the pill was very hard like a Tylenol tablet and it burned my throat, esphogus, and stomach for days just taking that one. I suffered from that so went immediately back to named brand and was fine. I've been afraid to try generic brands of any company because of it. Does anyone know which one isn't hard and dissolves in case mine runs out and I'm forced to get generic? I hope and pray they can get it filled sooner than December 2014.

I just called Genetech pharmaceutical at 3:30 pm pst and got recorded message. " effective immediately the named brand Klonopin is being shipped in All strengths and it may take a few days to reach all wholesalers /distribution and should be available for refill within the next few days.

Update immediately. I spoke to a Genetech Rep. He said they started shipping all strengths of Klonopin in the 0.5 mg, 1 mg, and 2 mg to wholesalers all over the Country, that it would take a few days for it to then be shipped to the distributors and that I could expect to have my named brand Klonopin actually filled by the end of this week Oct 31 to no later than the first part of next week Nov 3rd or 4th.

I am glad this seems to be getting better for us.

This will be my last post as I feel I am beating a dead horse but just want to let anyone who is interested know the very latest.

Also, if someone can answer my question about the generic Klonopin as to whether the Teva dissolves like the named brand as the one I tried that was hard as a rock didn't agree with me, can you please give me your input. I take the 2 mg white tablets.

Wow, your lucky sound4heaven if you still have name brand left. I've been out since June-July. My pharmacy felt the pinch pretty soon after they ceased production. Teva does dissolve as I don't think it has a protective coating but not as fast as Name Brand by Roche. Name brand had the K cutout that helps also with the dissolving. Good luck. I hope you don't have to switch to any brand of Generic.

Thank you Mark. I've called in my rx for named brand and they feel like they can have it for me soon,as in a day or so. I surely hope so. I'm in lower Alabama. Hope everyone can get theirs too. I'll let everyone know when I actually get it.Genetech started shipping on the 28th so it's not long now. All strengths are being shipped. I would like to be able to try the generic to save money but I'm afraid since I've been on named brand for so long that my brain may not respond the same. It would save me so much but your health is far too important to take a chance. Good luck everyone. God bless.

Sound4heaven, please let us know if you receive your brand name Klonopin prescription soon. I'm sure it will give me and some others here hope that we can expect klonopin to be back in our pharmacies soon!

Before I found out about this whole situation, I was calling every pharmacy looking for brand name. Exasperated at my continual failure to find it, I asked a pharmacy tech why all of the pharmacies ONLY have generic. He responded with a very snotty tone of voice and said, "ummmm well because it's cheaper and that's what people usually want since their insurance covers it" as if I was too stupid to know why some people pick generic brands of drugs! Obviously this kid didn't know that brand name klonopin is far superior and that there is basically a national shortage and THATS why they don't carry the brand! I guess he'll be surprised when they start stocking it at the pharmacy again.

Just called genentech 1 (877) GENENTECH (436-3683) and Klonopin msg is first thing you hear: it IS Shipping.

But Pharmacy (Duane/Walgreen) Wholesaler says NONE till Dec 1.

There should be an investigation of what what happened here.

It will be ok Peg. Hang in there. I know it's tough but it sounds like its being shipped (We all hope) and it will make it to us all.

Start calling the major pharmacy chains around you and ask them to check with their suppliers. Most pharmacists will just check on the computer and tell you its not in stock. They need to check with their supplier.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still waiting too and I hate it. I can't wait till someone on here actually picks up a script of name brand Klonopin. That's when I'll really ramp up my pressure on pharmacies around me.

In response to an email I sent to the Federal Employees Insurance Operations division of OPM, received a phone call today to inform me that official inquiries to Genentech resulted in a statement that Klonopin is being shipped in all dosage levels. So, I feel confident that the drug is on its way.
