Klonopin Brand Name (Page 6) (Top voted first)

I've been unable to find Klonopin (brand name) at any pharmacy. Although I've taken this medication for several years, this is the first time I've been unable to find it. I've been told the manufacturer (Roche) has it on backorder. Some say it's no longer available. I cannot take the generic as I get a serious migraine. Does anyone have any suggestions where I might get a Rx filled?

Well, we can all probably should take that with a grain of salt. This is the same company who just up and discontinued a commonly prescribed drug that treats many of things including but not limited to panic, anxiety, migraines and seizures. The part about getting the drug the last week in October depending on where you live and pharmacy suppliers could be true but it could also serve as a great cover for when people start calling them after October because the drug isn't out yet. Let's hope it's the first part. Has anyone spoken with the Fda recently about klonopin?

Have you checked any pharmacy or spoken to someone at Genetech or FDA? The pharmacist at genetech pharmaceutical seemed to be confident that it would be the end of October. We'll see. He said they were not changing any of the formulary ingredients, that it would still be the same as they've always made it. Regulatory compliance by the FDA. It is my hope that the government will be satisfied enough to not run anymore testing on this drug for at least several years.

hi thanks again I did talk to them and they told me feb 2014 as far as the changes made you said they made none so why again was it back ordered I am so conused

What part of the country do you live in? Did genetech tell you February 2015? Pharmaceutical companies have to adhere to strict guidelines governed by the FDA. It is merely a required testing on one of the inactive ingredients they use that is under fire.

Everyone on other sites have talked to pharmacists at genetech and they assure them the end of October. We'll see.

I just received this by email from the Fda.

I left out the section where to report side effects from generic klonopin. It's pretty easy to find on their page. It's called medwatch.

Received a phone call from the FDA Pharmacy Dept in response to a letter I wrote to a contact I found on their website. The person who called was defensive from the beginning, said she had forwarded my mesg to another dept. I asked her who she forwarded to and she responded, "who do you want me to forward to"? So snarky. She admitted the FDA doesn't notify doctors or pharmacies about shortages, but posted shortages to their website. One would think the manufacturer would notify doctors. I know they do with cancer drugs. At any rate, this woman was so rude and so unapologetic about the plight of patients who had to abruptly stop taking Klonopin, I quickly ended the conversation. I tried.

Spoke with Genentech today. Now they are saying Brand name Klonopin will be available "last week of October". Assured me that production has not been permanently discontinued.

I did call the FDA the word is october 31st but that does not mean it will be in pharmacies thats what they said

I just called several Pharmacies and all of them do not have a set date s to when brand name will be back

The 31st? I was hoping it would be mid week. I'm going to have to get another refill of generic Klonopin. You would think I'd be used to Generic by now. Been on them for over 4 months, but I'm not. Name brand actually treated my disease. Generic just makes me want to sleep and that's just one of the side effects.

Maybe the closer the availability date, the more we will know as to when the Pharmacies can get it in. I imagine some suppliers will get it sooner than others, depending on the part of the country you live in.

Called the pharmacy today and pharmacist called Genentech and was again told the last week in October. Seems consistent with others. Don't think I'll inquire anymore as I think this must be the case. I so hope so.

Bonita, well if you can not take the generic that only tells me 1 thing. You are using the med's intravenously. This is why it is on back order because Roche is making the drug where addicts can no longer inj. their med. So be careful once it does hit the market you will no longer be able to inj. it.

Understand that this drug is similar to oxycotin in so far as being able to inj. it. That is why the makers of the drug changed it. Another long acting pill that can be abused. Roche has changed the pill so addicts can no longer inj. it. Warning anyone who attempts to inj. the new drug may have serious side effects and prove to be fatal.

Hi I still do not have a set date other then Feb ,, So says Rite Aide Pharmacy and I am in NH I did email the FDA and no answer yet. I did say they told me feb my mistake it was genotech that told me feb I wonder why my pharmacy as well as cvs and walgreens have no set date either as they called .
