It was recommended by the members of a separate thread that one be started that directly relates to ketamine and it's use to treat depression.

If anyone besides myself would like to discuss it's use as a treatment for depression, feel free to post your questions, answers and experiences here.

Glyx-13 is in clinical trials . Dr. Lebowitz in NYC is participating. The next phase of the study will be "open label" and expected to begin in April. Worth a try for anyone interested in ketamine. In the open label study, you will know you are getting the medication and the study is supposed to continue until fda approval. Free and legal!

John, I actually had 4 infusions of ketamine with Dr Brooks (earlier I said 3). But ketamine didn't work for me, so I'm back to just regular meds, waiting for the next thing to try.

Hi Brian , The ketamine infussions take about 40 minutes , where are you getting the Nasal med from , is this something that is done through prescription

HI LM, I am bnot sure if it is you but , someone on this discussion group was SAYING THYAT THEY HAVE BOUGHT kETAMINE ONLINE AND HAVE DONE THE IV's THEMSELVES, I have tried that and got burned. Does anyone know where to get it at a fare price

Hi Cristobal , There are a few doctors here in NYC that are doing injections , ..... Now I have tried to get ketamine online or black market, and got burned. Could you give me an idea of where you are getting the ketamine. so you are talking about the nasal ketamine another is the study going on at Mount Sinai here in New York City regarding thatbut was unaware that it was available through any prescription I do have a neurologist that I can see I will have to speak to them about it but it is very helpful thank you very much

@clint. Hi, the nasal spray thing is relatively new, I recommend it! As for dose, they really don't seem to have a clue. My Dr prescribed, twic a week, then upped it to daily, then redoubled the dose! It doesn't seem to do much for my depression but I like the high when I take lots - makes the world a more interesting place. Though I get a hangover when I take too much.

You may want to ask your doctor about oral or liquid sublingual ketamine. I started it a few weeks ago. A month's supply cost $60, so far more manageable in the long run. We try it the first time at each new dosage in the waiting room at the doctor's office, but otherwise you take it at home. From what I understand, his patients normally keep taking the drug twice weekly in the long term as the results tend to only last a few days. I am writing from Canada, but any compoundng pharmacy should be able to make something similar (capsules, liquid). The drug itself is not expensive, it is used as a cat or horse tranquilizer.

Dr. Schneiderman in Rhode Island is using ketamine for treating pain. The group is excellent. They have had a great success with treating pain. I talked to him about treating ketamine for depression and he was interested. The protocol is easier for treating depression than pain. I am going get mine there.

Received 6 ketamine infusions in a fortnight lately in a Netherlands trial. Proved to be a 'responder' (>50% improvement HDRS-scale). My depression changed from severe to moderate. I do not feel relieved yet, but at least it gives hope.

Hello I am glad you are doing well , I want to make sure if how long should I try antidepressent before I consider this but my depression is bad I tried a mixture if antidepressents for bipolar depression along with antipyschotic but I never continue cause I feel so bad on them as much as without them but how could I ask the doctors to precribe the nasal spray and do I have to get the ketamine infusions before hand and also should I consider to try more meds first or ect before hand I am afraid of the ect , please let me know your thoughts

Hi Michael,

I know your post is from last year, (I'm seeing it for the first time today), but I'm surprised that Dr. Feifel in San Diego is not on the list of doctors using intravenous ketamine for depression. He's been doing that for several years now, I believe.

On a personal note, I tried intranasal ketamine with Dr. Sajben a couple of years ago. It made me feel really weird, but then my problem has always been extreme sensitivity to the side effects of these drugs.

I want to try the ketamine derivative glyx-13 made by Naurex, if and when phase III trials start.
