Kenalog Injections (Top voted first)

is anyone getting intramuscular kenalog for arthritis and fibromyalgia? are you getting relief and what are your side effects.

I have had kenalog for inflammation due to fibromyalgia, I have had both intramuscular and into the pelvic area. They worked and my life was worth living again totally pain free after years of pain. I am now under a new rheumatologist who refuses to give them, nothing else over the years has worked and she even says I have had everything. I am not happy to be told I can't have it again. I have not been able to use my arms for four months my GP eventually gave me hydrocortisone inj's. in them and a week later im fine. The pelvic area remains a problem, don't think some doctors appreciate the pain you can be in, I never abused the inj's. and my bone density is good according to a dexa scan, so why make people suffer? If you get the chance and are in agony have the inj's.

Although I personally haven't taken this medication, I went ahead and posted a list of potential side effects for those looking for more information.

Side effects of Kenalog injections can include:

-fast, slow, or uneven heart rate;
-feeling short of breath, even with mild exertion;
-swelling, rapid weight gain;
-dangerously high blood pressure (severe headache, buzzing in your ears, anxiety, confusion, chest pain);
-problems with your vision;
-eye swelling, redness, discomfort, or drainage (may be signs of infection);
-severe depression, changes in mood or behavior;
-seizure (convulsions);
-muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness.
-nausea, bloating, appetite changes;
-stomach or side pain;
-headache, sleep problems (insomnia);
-acne, scaling, or other skin changes;
-a wound that is slow to heal;
-thinning hair;
-bruising or swelling;
-sweating more than usual;
-irregular menstrual periods.

This may not be a complete list of side effects, but it's the biggest list I've found online thus far.
