I was on 100 mg of Kadian twice a day for 7 years and got switched to 20 mg of Opana three times of day. Also, I was on 15 mg of Morphine 4 times a day and was switched to 4 mg of dialudid 4 times a day. I want to know if these dosages are equal to my old medicine dosages. ## I don't believe these are equivalent dosages, more over because Morphine is the active ingredient in Kadian. In which case you had taken 100mg twice a day (200mg/day) and later dropped down to 15mg four times a day (60mg/day). That's a pretty significant difference in and of itself, not taking into consideration the Opana or Dilaudid fixtures. Live in Jacksonville Florida. I have been to 15 different pharmacies and can not get refill on Kadian 60 mg (morphine sulfate) CVS, WALGRREEN'S, PUBLIX'S and WINN DIXIE'S no one has them. Been taking 10+ years regular pharmacy out of stock, resupply unknown. Have to drive to each location and show scripe to see if available. Will not discuss availanility over phone due to Fla Opiate laws. I was prescribed kadian 10mg but need to know what pharmacy in Cleveland TN carries it. I have called about all pharmacies and no one seems to carry it. ## I'm assuming you've filled your prescription by now. I just came across your post and for future reference keep in mind that if your regular pharmacy doesn't have it and you've physically checked one more pharmacy and they don't have any either you can ask the nurse or someone at the doctors office to help you find the medication. Be very nice and they'll be more likely to help you asap. First, you're in pain and driving, walking, riding can exacerbate any kind of pain. My husbands doctor says there is not a generic for Kadian. You say you are taking the generic Kadian...what is the name of it?? ## MS CONTIN ## If your dr. writes for Kadian and accepts a generic form on the script the pharmacy can get it from Alpharma. It is the exact pill but with morphine sulfate on the label. Your pharmacist will have to do the digging and order it in for you in your dose. ## KADIAN vs GENERIC Kadian. That said, Kadian (Morphine) would most-likely be the more difficult drug to withdrawal from. Morphine is the active ingredient in Kadian, so neither one that you've mentioned is stronger. The difference lies in the formulation. The Kadian is a time released formulation, so the Morphine is slowly released for a period of approximately 12 hours to provide better pain control. While the IR is an instant release formulation that releases all of the Morphine at once to alleviate pain and these ones usually last about 6 to 8 hours….but sometimes as little as 4, if someone is tolerant to opiates. Does anyone know the difference between Kadian 30 mg to Watson 3450. My Kadian was just changed to the Watson pill and I am now in withdrawal. What is the difference? ## Kadian is the Brand name for Morphine Sulfate Extented Release capsules, it is made by Actavis. Watson 3450 is a purple/white capsule and contains 30 mgs Morphine Sulfate Extented Release. The amount of medication in a Brand and a generic may vary. The Brands have exact medication whereas generics may vary. For example, if you have a generic that says 10 mgs, there can be 8 mgs-12 mgs of medication in it.

Still failing the urine test for long term use,went as far as taking photos of my self taking the medication.The doctor now wants me to got to a drug rehab center for addiction,this confusses me because the don't find any drug ,but the ones that are supposed to be there.I will take my photo evidence and see what happens on this coming tuesday.This is very frustrating,and being forced to got to a drug rehab center doesn't make any sense.I hate being called a cheater and not telling the truth.living like this is no fun,I want my job back !!! ## This problem seems to be alcohol related,seems that I was hitting the bottle very hard. Is there a tablet form of kadian xl? ## The name brand Kadian XL is only available in capsules. However, there is a time released Morphine that's available as a tablet. I have been prescribed Kadian 30 mg 2x day for over 3 years and just had a drug test. I was out of it for 8 days. Will it still show up in my urine? ## If you hadn't taken it for 8 days, before the test, then no it isn't likely that it will show up in the drug test. It is usually only detectable for approximately 4 to 5 days, after the last dosing. Learn more Kadian details here. My wife has used Kadian for six years. She has a new Dr. We travel frequently, sometimes on short notice, and if we want to leave town for ten days when there are five days before she uses up her current prescription, we have to chase Dr. to write new script and then argue with ins. co. I would like her to have a cushion of a 30 day supply always in hand so we can hop on a plane regardless of when her current month's supply runs out. Is Kadian er the same as Kadian cr? my insurance stopped the er but said I could switch to the cr. I was just wondering what the differance was. Thank you ## Yes, they are the same, they both designate it as being a time released formulation, they are just different ways of saying it, the ER stands for extended release and the CR for controlled release. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am and have been taking the generic form of Kadian and MSIR for well over a year now since bing involved in an auto accident which left me with chronic,inoperable pain and which corticostroids did nothing for. Over the last year, my dosage has remained the same at 30 mg every 12 hours. If you have a prescription, however, all you have to do is inform them of this, when you go in for the test. Though they may require proof. Are there any other comments or questions?

can't take suboxone, or benzos ==adverse reactions do i just stick to the med hoping my body will except, or just drop ct and go through the withdrawals ## You shouldn't be experiencing withdrawals, if you are still taking the same dosage. Even as a maintenance dose, it will prevent withdrawals, if it doesn't help with your pain, at all. There are other opiates you can try, the strongest one on the market is Fentanyl, which is available as a patch and a lollipop. I do not drink often but with the holidays coming up I would like to be able to drink with my family and friends.... If I do not take it for 3 days prior is it ok for me to drink in moderation?

I've been on kadian 80mg 2 times a day for a year;now I have no insurance and the script is $1050.00 I need somthing cheaper but basicaly the same. ## Kadian is a time release formulation of Morphine, there is a generic version available, you should be able to ask your doctor to prescribe it or just ask your pharmacist.
