Isosorb Mono 30mg

I have been taking isorb mono 30mg for approx 8 days. The biggest side effect is headaches. My question is: What is the result supposed to be to the patient for taking this rx?

Based on my research, Isosorbide mononitrate is used in the treatment of heart failure, angina pectoris prophylaxis (chest pain), and esophageal spasm. It works by relaxing the blood vessels to the heart, so the blood and oxygen supply to the heart is increased.
