I rescued my son just this morning from almost dying while chewing half a 50 mcg fentanyl patch. Don't risk it. Follow instructions on how to use your prescribed meds, or you WILL die. Simple.

SO, YOU WANT TO CHEW FENTANYL PATCHES EH? I personally have a ton of experience with these patches, as a person who suffers from chronic back pain from an accident which broke my back in 7 places, I've had 3 surgeries and seven levels of fusions, and I have been prescribed every drug there is for pain, none stopped my pain, but some helped me manage some of my most severe pain and by far the most dangerous drug was FENTANYL PATCHES. As a recovering drug addict, I can tell you that it was the PATCHES THAT STARTED THE WORST OF MY ADDICTION PROBLEMS. As you have, I have also abused the patches by chewing, and a few other ways of making myself feel high on the fentanyl immediately that I won't mention because if I did, it would probably cause your DEATH because you would be ignorant enough, or stupid enough or just addicted enough to think that you would be different and just feel high and not DIE, and YOU WOULD BE WRONG! TRUST ME, PLEASE! Just as Meth addicts become amateur chemists, so do opiate addicts. I was able to figure out how to extract the fentanyl from the patch and smoke it. I also OD'd 4 TIMES out of about 10 times of doing this because I didn't realize how potent this drug is. also because I was a hopeless addict and just plain STUPID! besides having constant chronic pain that I would do ANYTHING to relieve, besides being in such severe pain that I was regularly found rolling in my bed crying from the pain (and I have a HIGH PAIN THRESHOLD, I can and do live in severe pain) I would rather be in THAT pain then EVER use FENTANYL AGAIN! It has been 5 years since I used Fentanyl or any other drink or drug with the exception of my closely monitored and dispensed pain medication (Oxycodone). Back when I was abusing fentanyl patches I was found on the floor in our basement by my wife 4 times unconscious and not breathing. Each time I was sure I was not doing too much, and EACH TIME I WAS WRONG. THERE IS NO SAFE AMOUNT OF FENTANYL PATCHES THAT YOU CAN CHEW!! If you want to feel high, (which I suggest you talk to someone about what is REALLY bothering you, that you want to 'escape' from by doing drugs) try doing something for others. It's an amazing 'high' to play with your kids, to give food to a stranger who is starving, to raise money for a worthy cause, to achieve an education in a subject that excites you, or to help an elderly person, or give blood, or any of a million things that will give you a personal 'high' that you cannot obtain from drugs. FENTANYL WILL KILL YOU QUICKER THEN A GUN!! oh, and to the person asking about withdrawal concerns; Fentanyl has the WORST withdrawal symptoms then any drug I have ever taken (and I've taken them all), best advice, slowly lower the dosage weekly from 50mgs, to 25, to 12, to 7.5, and do this over a month and when you stop completely, you will still feel like crap for about a week, but Valium, lots of water and exercise will help some. GOOD LUCK ALL, and I hope something I said helps someone out there. Happy Holidays! Tommy

Hi, I hope this info helps you, but please talk to your Dr. about my suggestions BEFORE doing it for yourself. ALWAYS follow Drs. orders....Back when i was using a patch, i also found out that it #1, takes about 6 to 8 hours for the patch to start working after applying it, #2, it only works 'well' for about 48 hours. I brought this up to my Dr. and the answer was to be given enough patches to 'stagger' them every other day. in other words, as an example, i put a patch on, on Monday morning, then on wed. morning, i put ANOTHER patch on somewhere else, (for me, the upper arm or on my back by my shoulder). then on Thursday take off the Monday patch. Then on Friday put on a new patch. Then on Sat. take off the Wed. patch etc. In other words, i only expect the patch to work for 48 hours, So I put on a new patch every 48 hours, but wear them for 72 hours. I am prescribed 15 patches a month, the max my ins. will cover per month. I wear each patch for 3 days, but put a new one on every other day. the idea is to add a patch around the time the old one starts to wear off, but still leave it on until the new patch has a chance to start working. I hope this does not sound too confusing, but I had the same problem, my pain was doing a 'roller-coaster' ride, from managed to not working at all every couple days. I explained this to my doc and this is what we came up with, and it insured that I was always getting proper pain management at all times, but still not being over-medicated at any time. it's a shame that the manufacturers of the patch don't explain that the medication does not start working IMMEDIATELY upon application of the patch, and that it takes 6 to 8 hours to start working, and they do not offer consistent pain relief for 72 hours as they claim. Don't blame the Drs. though, they are only following what the dosage says, which is 'apply patch and replace every 72 hours'. Oh, one other piece of advice: the patches don't stick well, and fall off a lot especially if it gets wet. My Dr. gave me some 'IV covers' for free(a clear adhesive bandage that gets put on your arm to keep your IV in place) when I put on a patch I first clean the skin area with alcohol on a gauze pad, then put on the patch, then I put on the IV cover and I'm all set. it doesn't get wet and always adheres just fine. I hope this info helps you. I'm sorry about your pain issues, it sucks, I live it everyday...T

Tommy.......Due to an accident at work I have been in severe pain for 25 years. I have tried everything to help with pain. The last pain med by moth was oxycontin. My stomach sarted bleeding due to all the various meds I have to take. Anyway.... The oxy was not working very well and almost 8 years ago we switched to Fentanyl. I have been wearing 2 patches that give me 125 mcg for over 7 years now. They help with occasional breakthrough meds. What I don't understand is what people get, the "high" from these patches. I feel no different other than the pain is relieved. My Dr says it is because they are being used appropriately and my pain receptors are using the drug as it is supposed to. I have had numerous surgeries and they never come off only extra meds are given when necessary. If or when I ever need to stop Fentanyl do you think the withdrawal will be an issue.? I will be on pain meds for life and I figure I have at least another 30 years, LOL

Wow, you guys need to chill out and have some opium, it's fine to chew fent. Infact, SWIM is doing it right now. You should know however, that it does kill people. I believe it has the highest fatality rate of users of any drug. But it's really fun in my opinion. I'd recommend it to anybody who likes opiates and is okay with the good possibility of dying from it. The important thing is that you are well informed about abusing it (there are many good forums) and telling people they shouldn't abuse it isn't going to stop them. Have fun with your long dull lives. (SWIM has been abusing fent for years, I get my info from SWIM)

To reply 334....Someone who isn't me

You can gamble with your own life but it is not right to encourage people to do so.

There are many people who are so desperate to be rid of pain they will try anything suggested by others.

Does it not bother you that you could possibly be a contributer to someone's death.

Please, do not chew Fentanyl, any responsible person will not suggest this for pain control.

700? Where are you getting your statistics? Fentanyl is 82x stronger than morphine per milligram.

Not usually, you HAVE to be opioid tolerant to get a script.

What do you mean found out how to extract it? {edited for safety reasons}. But I agree definitely not safe for 98% of the population. My friend od'ed from it one time, but he had a fast metabolism, swim had smoked a half of patch and was chewing on another quarter (50 mcg/h [5mg] patch) you shouldn't be telling people to do those amounts, 7.5 mg would kill most people, much less 50. (50 would probably even kill me) it takes a full 5mg patch for me to feel it. (4 quarters for 4 hours one right after the other. But I've been abusing strong opiates every day for over 3 years. Usually 2 100mg morphine sr's or some china white. But fent used to be my opiate of choice.

The gel is dangerous that way, because it all comes off the plastic the minute you put it in your mouth, but smoking the gel is waaay worse.

Comments submitted, if you do choose to do it, please dont do a half, you'll kill yourself. If you must (I don't recommend starting) then 1/8 would be enough.

You want to get rid of your pain, addicts want to feel high, I don't really see the difference, either way you're just doing it because you want it to do something.

Garth, I've never met a dealer who uses the drugs they sell. That would be kind of idiotic don't ya think?

The only way to safely chew patches is to first have been on them a while, and ONLY chew the matrix type, and ONLY 1/8 of it. It helps if the patch has been on the skin a while. However this is always at one's peril. AND if you run out before you can get more, it is worse than going cold turkey from 140 mg of methadone. I now just wear 'em and enjoy being able to do normal activities without pain. That is a high enough!!!
