Re: Jenna (# 1)
Yes it says that but right off the ritger scale Oxycodone HCL contains 8.9637 mg of oxycodone never the full 10 mg. [1]
Then after experiencing both generic companies (and sadly many more), IP 204 are complete junk! The Endocet Pharmaceutical is the same underlying company that makes the name brand Percocet which I've heard actually has the full 10 mg dosage strength. A situation similar to hydrocodone HCL and hydrocodone bitartrate. I can detect a definite variancy in chemistry between the two. Always go with Endocet if not NB if your pharmacy of choice carries this generic, I know I will. Anyone claiming all Generics are the same do not know this. I even had one pharmacist tell me that all Oxycodone APAP are made round shaped none carries the oblong or oval characteristic.

Yes they r junk. Not a happy camper.
What is happening with my prescription for percecet being so hard to find? The past 2 months Ive had to run around to different drug stores to find it in stock. Why is it so hard all of a sudden for my regular pharmacist to keep it in stock?
Been having the same problem!
I have had about all different ones due to major botched back surgery. My pharmacist said generics of any kind have to be within 20% of the name brand original medication in strength. So, there is a difference between generics, AND probably a difference between manufacturing dates, lot numbers, etc. The oblong IP 204's have been good, then next time not as good. I had the round yellowish/orange and seemed to vary from one time to the next also. Last time I got round white pills with 10 over 325 on one side and RP on the other. They seemed much stronger than the yellowish/orange pills. They give you what they have on hand and in my case, what my insurance allows. I'm having a procedure on my back in about 3 weeks. Hopefully it will stop the pain and I won't have to depend on pain meds anymore. That's NO way to live. The round, white, 10 over 325 with RP on the opposite side seemed the best, but I only got those once.
Steve, Here's hoping your surgery helps take your back pain away or at least less the pain to be more manageable without pain killers. You are correct that needing to be on these pills is not a way anyone should live. Cheers!
ALL THE generics are not as good as the brand name i dont care what any of them say.. I've live with pain for years (since about 2001) because of a series of car accidents. The brand name is so very expensive with the percocet that there is no way I could afford them... I was getting the round yellow and then this time i got switched to the big thick white one's (not the watson the other ones) and? They're OK>>> i personally like . the oblongs the best. they help my pain better not the ip's but the M somethings.. There IS A DIFFERENCE IN generic medications.. On anything there is a difference don't care what any1 says
The endocet is the 10 mg. But in order to avoid the crappy generics, you have to have your dr write do not substitute on your script. I too went thru umpteen so called 10 percs, but they did no good, like taking a placebo instead. I now always remind mu dr to write it on my script
V4829 oval is supposed to be 10mg/325. I sadly due to migraines was put on 10mg oxycodone. The last 2 months I was given the V4829 and for me did absolutely nothing! I to was calling different pharmacies in my area trying to get a different brand. Today I pocked up white oval IP204. Does anybody have any feedback on that brand? All of us just want relief and if we HAVE to take meds to accomplish that then we deserve to have the best just to get through the day! Thank you for any input
Because this is a controlled substance, that is, you can only get it with prescription and not even with a fax or a phone call from the doctor, they're very often stolen from patients and from pharmacies. So pharmacies keep less on hand to be less of a target.
The hydrocodone, any more info on that? How it compares to oxycodone and difference in efficiancy?
I always get my medication filled at a small chain grocery store. They always have my pain medication and if not they order what ever brand I request. ALWAYS AVOID the big pharmacys as they do not care and will fill with the cheapest generics they can contract with. If you build a relationship with your pharmacist he/she will really take care of your needs. Like I said stay with the "little pharmacys " good luck
I have found a difference in the size of the iP 204. Some are not as good as others. They all say the same thing but small variation in size.
I have had 2 back surgeries which both failed I get 100 milligrams fentanyl and I get my oxycodone pain medicine is not the way to live so ever is having back surgery good luck
You are so full of crap. "Sadly I was prescribed for migraines". Either your doctor is stupid to buy that story (they don't prescribe narcotics for chronic migraine, they have actual drugs for that) or they just don't give a crap and want you out of their office.
You sound like the text book abuser "if we HAVE" to take these to "get through the day". Are you f'ing kidding me??!! People with real pain issues aren't on some drug site wondering which color of the same stupid drug "works the best."
@harleyman55, I'm not sure chemically what the difference is but I know the yellow ones work much better. Someone one here said it has something to do with the filler ingredients and I think that's right.
I agree on the oval IP 204, I just got my refill yesterday and they have made me sick to my stomach, to the point I threw up. The Yellow ones did not do that at all, so must be something in the filler ingredients. But doing fine for my pain.
Actually, "NOTSTUPID," some doctors do prescribe narcotics for chronic migraines. My sister's doctor has her on a month supply of hydrocodone for chronic migraines. My doctor has also prescribed me hydrocodone for the same thing, chronic migraines. So yes it does happen
@notstupid, thank you @ken for saying what I hadn't got around to yet. Yes Dr.s do prescribe narcotics such as the ones we are discussing here and hydrocodone for migraines. There are all different types of illnesses that cause migraines and some are very serious and require these meds. So for you - not stupid, I say unless you are this person with the illness and the Dr. Prescribing then u must not judge. U too could be stricken with such a illness. After 40 years of suffering with migraines I was diagnosed with a brain disorder that's been causing them my whole life. So I tend not to judge so easily!

Re: Delana (# 10)

Re: NOTSTUPID (# 16)
They actually do prescribe narcotics for migraines. I've suffered from chronic migraines since I was in 1st grade; that's about 48 years now. I've tried every OTC and non-narcotic med out there, and nothing helps. I've been on Fioricet with codeine for about 25 years for migraines, and it's the only thing that works. No, I'm not addicted. I can use them as prescribed which is "as needed." I take about 9-10 capsules a month. My doctor does care, and she also sees that I don't abuse them.
Re: NOTSTUPID (# 16)
Why are you making such a mean comment like that. The reason some of us come in here is because we want to be educated regarding our meds. If I don't take pain meds, I could not fully physically function. Plus, i take muscle relaxers, and Mobic. You must not be a Chronic Pain sufferer. Not everybody who has to take pain meds, are drug heads!
Re: NOTSTUPID (# 16)
It all depends on the Dr. I had vertical sleeve surgery in April then through the months developed a severe hiatal hernia which surgery almost killed me living with chronic pain, I know, but ppl talking about this pill being s***ty ect sounds like they have the problem.
Ip 204 and a333 is nothing like any Percocet I've ever taken. I'm simply wondering what's really in them. There is no oxycodone in them. I took a U/A and it came up clean...
The IP 204 pill is complete garbage. It takes effect after around 45 minutes and wears off in two hours. Something is very poor with its manufacturing. I was taking Watson 932 brand with satisfaction until its sad discontinuation. Ironically, l found an old 932 one in my bathroom cabinet that was lost from years ago. I took it and it wore off the following day. Yes, the manufacturing is solely to blame for the lP 204 dissatisfaction.... Aim for a different brand or change your pharmacy!
kjc7692.....Some CRPS patients have used Soma to help with pain as it is classified as a muscle relaxer. I personally thought it worked as well as a baby aspirin. I read somewhere that it is being banned in the US after the UK banned it so doctors are prescribing alternate muscle relaxers now. For anyone with CRPS, back injury or chronic pain you might try the spinal stimulator implant. They allow a 4 to 6 day trial to see if it works for you before placing a permanent one. I just went through the trial having CRPS TYPE 2 and a crushed foot injury along with scoliosis issues and it worked really well for me.
Can SOMA be used for physical pain? For example, C.R.P.S (complex regional pain syndrome)? My fingers are crossed in hopes that this will work...How much will it take? I have 325mg 4x a day. I was also just told by the doctor, that 16yrs ago I was positive for Lyme Disease...But no one ever mentioned that to me, until now. I have had a hell of a time fighting with doctors who said I suffered from "Invisible Illnesses" which made me feel INSANE and from Chrones Disease, Staph Infections, Neurological Pain & Anxiety, Fear, Panic attacks & 15+ years of treatment for Epilepsy...That was completely misdiagnosed...But the Epilepsy Rx, that I should never have been prescribed + a complexity of other things in my body from the Lyme Disease, made me suffer 1k seizures. PNES (pseudo non-epileptic seizures) is what they were actually called & after so much Traumatic Brain Injuries and 30+ Concussions...I now have to live with 24/7 assistance and Im still denied SSDI...So I must continue to fight. No one here has an easy road and because of all these little kids abusing narcotics & overdosing, it's making it very difficult for the people who live in 24/7 pain it's unfair for the doctors to be punished for writing prescription that the patient actually and physically needs! AND the government needs to recognize that it is a medication classification that needs to be used for the treatment of people who suffer from minute to minute, hour by hour, and up to years and years of everyday pain. Because of pain and not having anything to lesson the severity comma I am alive but I am not living. I can't do anything I don't have any money I have become a burden on myself my family & no hope of finding a person who will stick with me through all of my s***. It's a sad place to be. I can hardly stand up alone and I'm my early thirties, I am afraid of what my forties and fifties will be like, if I get there. Again I apologize to renting any information or an answer to the question above would be Heaven Sent.... I will keep you all in my prayers and hope that you all find relief sometime somewhere someday SOON!!! BEGGING ANYONE FOR HELP!!!
Yes I also had migraines since I was 10 years old, mine was due to a brain tumor. When the tumor was found and taken out, I still had migraines that was in 2010 when brain surgey was done and still I have migraines but not near as severe.
