Kat,I know this is a little late,but if you're still on that stuff and want off,find a doctor who prescribes suboxone.I got on it 2 years ago and it is way safer than methadone!

Try suboxone..not only does it help with pain it keeps u from withdrawing or craving other opiates..only certain doctors can prescribe it but it is much better then methadone

as an opiate addict from way back, including being on suboxone, i would NEVER suggest someone get on that stuff if they werent a serious opiate addict. not all that effective for pain when we are talking about someone who already takes pain killers/muscle relaxers etc. and horribly addicting. if this person is already regularly using opiates, it wont work well for pain. if the person has no type of tolerance WHATSOEVER for any kind of drugs, then yes it can be effective. a lot of things to consider.

Do u get soma as a prescription for a legitimate medical issue? If you have a legit prescription from a doc, then u should be fine. If not, then it could be a problem. Hope it works out with your daughter. Maybe you should consider WHOOPING HER ASS!!! im sorry, im not condoning violence, but if my son had ever laid a hand on me when he was 12? I would have LAID HIM OUT!!

I have been on sima for 25 years and my pain Dr said only blood tests ask pharmasist if you are still worried was UA every week for five months to get grand babies back from state never showed in urine or hair folical tests. Hope this helps.

YOU get 300mg of Morphine a day-? That's simply Unbelievable! Not to mention all the other meds you're prescribed... What is your Diagnosis? Some form of Cancer? Sorry to ask, but I find this an Extreme amount of medication!

Suboxone it is literally the step after methadone anyway! It takes less to curve the cravings. It is expensive without insurance. Subutex is a derivative of suboxone and cheaper. Once you start taking it there is no longer a buzz. You feel normal and its not like the more u take the better u feel. Check into it. Good luck.

subutex is not a derivitive of suboxone. they are the same drug (buprenorphine) with suboxone having the addition of naloxone.

Be careful when taking over the counter (OTC) meds. I took an OTC for bladder spasms, and i showed up pos. for amphetamines. the lab who does the tests swore the only things that ave a false pos were cold meds and diet pills. I brought in the box to the nurse, and low-and-behold it contained amphetamines!!! I didn't get penalized for it, but i asked them "what about other people who may have taken this OTC, and not known it, and got penalized for it?" DRUG COMPANIES AND LABS DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING!!!! DO YOUR HOMEWORK, KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TAKING, AND KNOW THE RISKS!!!

I WAS IN PAIN MGMNT, AND WAS ON 160M OXYCONTIN EVERY 8 HRS, FENTANYL PATCHES-125(I THINK), 6 BOXES OF FENTANYL SUCKERS A MONTH, NORCO, METHADONE, AND KETAMINE NASAL SPRAY. (IN ADDITION TO MY PSYCH MEDS-WELLBUTRIN, EFFEXOR, TRAZADONE, AND ATIVAN). THE DR. WAS ARRESTED ON 14 DRUG FELONIES, WE ALL GOT BLACK BALLED FROM PAIN TREATMENT, AND YET, SEVERAL YEARS LATER, SHE IS STILL A DR., AND STILL ALLOWED TO PRESCRIBE (NO JAIL TIME FOR HER-OH NO!!!!!) AND I'M HE ONE TREATED LIKE AN OUTCAST FOR TRUSTING HER!!! (AND BEFORE YOU ASK-YES, I DO HAVE REAL PAIN ISSUES. 10 OPERATIONS, PINS, PLATES AND SCREWS. I ALSO HAD A TENDON GRAFT DONE, AND MY HEEL WAS CUT OFF 90% OF THE WAY, AND RE-ATTACHED WITH A 3 INCH SCREW. I ALSO HAVE SPINAL FUSIONS).
