A prescription received from riding - it's a white oval pill labeled "I 10". Says on the bottle it's 800 mg ibuprofen from Edison laborato. Hi. I'm 19 yrs old and just started my period today. I heard that taking 800mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours can temporarily stop the bleeding. My question is, does it work for any kind of ibuprofen or just the red ones? I have white 600mg tablets. Can I use those and they will work just as effectively? ## Hi Lydia, Based on my research, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as Ibuprofen or naproxen) may help reduce menstrual bleeding by decreasing the production of substances called prostaglandins. I haven't read anything about certain colored tablets having a greater effect than others in this regard, so I'm thinking that is just something which can only be determined through trial and error. Can ibuprofen cause a false positive for marajuana? ## No, I'm sorry, it won't. Ibuprofen is nothing more than a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory used to treat pain and fever. Were you also taking anything else? ## I take oxycodone and they say a month ago I tested positive for suboxone and now I am off pain clinic does oxycodone or what gives false positive for suboxone, i am 52 and never taken anything other then prescribed ## Yes...there are SOO many drugs that can cause a false positive for marijuana...I know this because I'm in the suboxone clinic, and I always get false positives for it once every 2 weeks or so..mines mailny because of the Protonix I take...but alieve, ibuprofen, all those can cause a false positive..and I do NOT smoke..so it's no possibility of ever...

I have a terrible toothache. I'm taking antibiotics, but the 800mg Motrin wears off within 4 hours, should I take a naproxen, or another Motrin with some food? ## You should take whatever medication your doctor has prescribed. It is best not to double on nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories without their approval, since doing so may increase the risk of bleeding, and stomach ulceration, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, and headache. How are you doing now? Has there been any change?

Please identify ## I also found a small black pill with L1 what is it??? ## Small round black and smooth with L1 or LI is normally an iron supplement taken usually by those with an iron deficiency or anemic people. ## The closest I have been able to find, so far, is a brown tablet distributed by Topco Associates, which they list as being brown and containing 200mgs of Ibuprofen. Is it possible that an ibuprofen-prescription may be more effective if bought at Walgreens rather than from a small pharmacy that's family owned? ## It is possible, if they have been manufactured by different companies, since the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984 does allow them to differ from the name brand, in the amount of the active ingredient by as much as plus. or minus 20%. How many ibuprofen and acetaminophen equal 1 Vicodin ## Vicodin doesn't contain any Ibuprofen, so you honestly can't really compare it with this medication. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, whilst Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid derived from codeine. Since neither of these are in the same drug class, it would be like comparing apples to bananas. I've had a bad toothache for the most part of the day. I took 2 ibuprofen around 6 this morning, then two Tylenol after my bike ride around 11 a.m. and then I took 2 ibuprofen around 4 p.m. and I took my first dose of sulfamethoxazole around 8:20 p.m... Could this hurt me? ## How are you feeling? Did you experience any adverse effects? The FDA does warn that combining these medications could result in more nausea, drowsiness, and dizziness than usual. Are you on any other medications?

I have a white oblong pill that only has a big letter "I" with a big number "8" on it. ## A white oblong pill with "8 I" on one side and blank on the other, reportedly contains 800mgs of Ibuprofen. For verification, the manufacturer/labeler is listed as Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and the pill itself carries a National Drug Code of 55111-684. Is it safe to take 20mg baclofen, 800mg ibuprofen and 200mg gabapentin at the same time? I've been taking it for muscle spasms and sciatica. ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no drug interactions listed between Ibuprofen, Gabapentin and Baclofen. This doesn't necessarily mean that no interactions exist, so I would still encourage you to discuss this with your doctor first. However, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to take them together based upon my own investigation - Especially if these are all prescribed to you. I hope this helps!

I want to know if I can take Ibuprofen 600 mg, Hydrocodone, Flexeril 10 mg and Baclofen 10 mg tabs together for sciatic nerve pain? ## I really want to know can these pills be taken together? ## Hi Eva, Based on my research, there aren't any problems taking ibuprofen alongside hydrocodone. In fact, they already manufacture a tablet with that combination for pain management purposes. However, using flexeril and baclofen together with each other AND/OR with hydrocodone may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people might also experience various degrees of impaired thinking and judgment as a result of using these medications together.
