I Have Caught Cvs And Other Pharmacies Lying About Not Having Oxycodone In Stock, Shortage 2012
(Newest replies first)

Updated

Well today I officially caught a cvs here in Ga lying to me. A friend of mine filled his Meds yesterday. I go in, having a history with cvs, a recent one, and am immediately lied to. The pharmacist comes over and tells me they haven't had them in stock for months, without looking at his book or computer. At this point I stated an employee I know the name of told me shipment came in Thursday. He lied again. I then told him friend had filled yesterday morning. He said it was impossible. I then said I saw the bottle with my own eyes, it had their address on it, and even told him what brand they had since my friend just filled his there. Pharmacist lied to me yet again. I then asked him why he wad lying to me and that I am tired of being treated like a criminal because I am 30 with a handicapped tag and a four page long mri report for my neck, mid, and lower back. I just found out I have central and foramina stenosis in my lower back, yea!! He then asked me if I had been having trouble filling. I said yes, it seems a lot of pharmacies are lying about not having it in stock. I said it is easy to tell on how they look at you, treat you, and if they check their logbook which is required for all schedule two Meds. I then gave him a chance to not lie and said "so you mean you filled the last of your stock yesterday." Since he lied to me again I decided it was time to call his district manger. The info I told him was correct but he decided to lie so its not my fault if he gets fired. U am going to let his district manager know the whole story, and let them know that if something is not done I will contact the news about discrimination against a legit pain patient for them not to get their Meds and have a normal life. They won't want bad press that is for sure, esp since I have a handicapped tag. I am in their system for filling the exact Meds I brought in, they have my discount card on file also, and my whole family uses their pharmacy so these ate the thongs I will tell district. Any other pharmacies who lie I will do the same thing to. So it seems the shortage going on here in Georgia and Florida are manipulated by the pharmacies and the distributors. Mckesson isn't shipping them out to rite aid, wal mart, sams, and Target. They are afraid of getting fined like a few years ago or getting in trouble like cardinal, cvs, walgreens, publix, and krogers distributor. Cardinal is still shipping from Mississippi and north Carolina, but not from Florida atm. The rest of the country is not having any problems, just Florida and Georgia. Since I have a lawsuit going against Allstate from my car accident(not my fault) and we are going after a doc who read someone else's mri to make his conclusion and type a bogus report to my insurance so they will not reimburse me anymore, we ate going after him for slander or defimation of character since he wrote I sell my Meds, maybe I can add cvs for pain and suffering and descrimination. This is absolutely rediculous these days. Sorry for the rant but people selling them ate making a killing these days and legit patients are going broke from price gouging or gas prices just so we can live a somewhat normal life. Makes no sense how out system works.

Re: Verwon (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Then they should just state that they will not refill for those reasons. Lying to a customer with a legitimate prescription is not ethical.

Technically tramadol does have SNRI properties. While it is not considered a full blown SNRI it does inhibit the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine. The inhibition of norepinephrine uptake is what causes tramadol to lower the seizure threshold.

Since tramadol DOES has partial mu agonist activity and affects serotonin and norepinephrine it is often contraindicated with antidepressants of the SSRI and SNRI class due to the potential of causing serotonin syndrome.

Re: ravinder (# 299) Expand Referenced Message

Yeah first off tramadol releases serotonin but is not an SSRI or SNRI Second off cymbalta Does not contain any opiates or synthetic opiates of any kind it is merely an SSRI selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor nothing in there is an opioid or an opiate or any kind of analgesic it is an antidepressant that supposedly works for nerve pain because of the serotonin reuptake it has nothing to do with any kind of analgesic being and i does not contain any opiates or synthetic opiates of any kind it is merely an SSRI selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor nothing in there is an opioid or an opiate or any kind of analgesic it is an antidepressant that supposedly works for nerve pain because of the serotonin reuptake has nothing to do with any kind of analgesic being in it so your statements that they are opioid SSRI combination medications is completely incorrect

Re: ravinder (# 299) Expand Referenced Message

First of all cymbalta has no opiate or synthetic opioid of any type it is only a ssri and second tramadol does not contain any chemical that is a ssri or snri although it does produce serotonin It’s not officially A SSRI or SNRI So your opiate/ssri snri combination medication is not such

You can call the pharmacy and see if they have a schedule 2 in stock they should be able to tell you that I call around looking for mine if they don’t have it in stock at my usual pharmacy

Oh they still pass judgment your looks unfortunately do matter a pharmacy can turn you down for any reason and anytime hell they can even withhold your script and not give it back I’ve had that happen before

Have a blessed Easter as well. You should try lower THC strains, also maybe try different routes like smoking, vaporing, eating or tinctures. I bet with a little bit of experimentation you can find something that would work well for you. Like I said try different methods and get a strain that is not that strong in THC. Or like I said maybe try a different route like Edibles for example which don’t give you as much of a head high and more of a body buzz and lasts longer. Trust me when I smoke most Sativa strains they get me all excited and hyper sometimes panic and anxiety, so I stick to the Indica or hybrid strains. Trust me there’s a big difference, so maybe if you tried a low THC Indica plant that would probably help you really well.

Never leave a controlled substance script at a pharmacy to hold onto get it back if they won’t fill it that day not a good idea I had The pharmacy lose it on me once even had them tell my doctor that He wrote me Another script and said that would be my last one that he doesn’t write more than one script for the same medicine in the same month even though the pharmacy lost it I was screwed

TRIX (# 428) --

Trix....I would love to use med Marijuana. Tried it, my brother is a cancer patient. The effect on me was too close to how I felt after a big cerebellar stroke. So, the brain damage I have just makes the MM effect too close in sensation. But, glad I tried because I would just keep wondering if I am missing out on a more natural option.

I realize I can get products without the thc, but it's the thc (more than the other useful aspects of the plant) that is most beneficial for nerve damage, cancer, ataxia. Kind of bums me that it is not an option. I cannot use ANYTHING that could possibly increase my fall risk, which is high. No pun intended, lol. The oxy effect is not one that increases the risk. So, for now, its a no go. JMJ, and a blessed Easter to you!

First off, xanax for cardiac reasons? Second, have you tried any other muscle relaxer? You said yes, but have you tried every one? Probably not. They call soma, norco and xanax the cocktail because all three are a controlled substance. Not many will write this combination anymore and you make it sound like you're set in your ways. Doctors don’t like that too much, your unwillingness to try other medications out looks bad. I guarantee you have not tried every muscle relaxer there is and I guarantee you will find one that works, but nothing that will come close to soma. It is a very sedating medication and when you combine it with a benzo and pain medication it’s even more so. So they don’t like to prescribe this combination much anymore. You should be careful. It could labor your breathing and cause death. Be safe my friend. I can recommend baclofen, flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) & zanaflex (tizanidine). Also you might want to try methadone for extended release pain.

Re: TRIX (# 426) Expand Referenced Message

Oh yes, I do get the analogy with tylenol...acetaminophen. And I do know the active ingredient is the same with both oxys. And surely, if I am wrong about one being ir and one being Er, and THAT being the difference between the two..my words in last post....then i want to be corrected! Plus I did not know "Oxycontin" is a brand name. I thought the two names, same active ingredient, were distinguished by being called differently, so one could be known as the ER and the other as the IR. Thank you, Trix.

Re: TRIX (# 425) Expand Referenced Message

See only the one is called Tylenol but they’re both acetaminophen.

Re: TRIX (# 424) Expand Referenced Message

That is the best analogy I could use is Tylenol Because Tylenol is acetaminophen Both are the same thing If you compare the active ingredients to Tylenol compared to generic acetaminophen it has the same active ingredients acetaminophen but the Tylenol is called Tylenol because of of the brand name so in the analogy Tylenols is like the OxyContin and The acetaminophen is like the oxycodone

Re: TRIX (# 423) Expand Referenced Message

So it is just like Tylenol and the fact that Tylenol is the name brand acetaminophen is the generic name so it’s the same way with oxycodone oxycodone is the generic name which is the medicine name and OxyContin is the brand name they have OxyContin Er and ir and if you get the generic version of Oxycontin They have ER and Ir as well So if you were to get oxycodone 5 mg immediate release it would be the same thing as OxyContin 5 mg immediate release Except of course OxyContin is name Brand and would cost way more money so oxycodone OxyContin are the same exact thing and neither imply ER or ir

JMJ (# 421) --

Not true OxyContin is name brand for generic oxycodone Same thing neither implies Er or Ir there is oxycodone Er and ir and OxyContin (brand name for oxycodone) Er and ir
