I Take 1 Mg Of Klonopin Per Day Why Does It Not Show Up In My Urine Test?

I take 1.0 mg of klonopin a day and as prescribed and it is not showing up in my urine test. The Doctor that prescribes my medication thinks that I am not taking it. Has anyone ever heard of this and if so what could be the reason for it not showing up in my urine test? The Doctor accused me of not taking my medication he prescribed. Yet offers no reason why it does not show in my urine.

Many basic urine drug screens only test for the breakdown metabolites, oxazepam and noroxazepam. Alprazolam (Xanax), clonazepam (Klonopin), lorazepam (Ativan), midazolam (Versed), and triazolam (Halcyon) do not undergo metabolism to oxazepam and can be missed in detection

I take klonopin also and go to the methadone clinic and I'm having the same problem. In fact they are wanting to kick me off da clinic bc my benzos aren't showing up and I always take my klopins this is crazy.

I am having the same problem I take klonopin 1 mg 3 Times Daily and it does not show up on a urine screen when I actually need it to to show my PO that I am taking my meds people say that Klonopin doesn't Xanax will I don't know if that's true but this is just my thoughts hopefully it helped

Although most benzodiazepines show up in standard urine tests, some don't. Alprazolam (Xanax), clonazepam (Klonopin), temazepam (Restoril), and triazolam (Halcion) may not be found in many of the common tests.

It seems like many other people are having the same problem I am that the generic for Klonopin is not showing up in my urine screen and either probation officer or doctor does not think I'm taking my medicine is it because it's generic? And I take 3 mg a day of Klonopin and one and a half milligrams of Ativan a day Still Gettin a false read any help

Hey there, I read your response on this forum and just wanted to say that there is hope, you're doing the right thing, (I speak from experience), and that even being clean for years and years, it can still be difficult for management to trust. This is February late 2018 th or something like that , yesterday I had a probation test it was a five or six panel one that probably did test for benzos I was actually on Klonopin and had been taking it days up to that test they didn't arrest me Klonopin will not show up on a normal dipstick test... I do not know about any other benzos at all just Klonopin

I don’t usually post to nonsense but when I read the idiotic post about Methadone I couldn’t resist. First and foremost this isn’t a group, it’s not any type of NA meeting or group counseling or a discussion on Methadone maintenance. My response was to a gentleman that was actually experiencing the same thing I am (not being able to continue a medication that was prescribed and because of clinic rules stopped). Now my over 20 years of being on the Methadone maintenance program would and should be understood that it evidently works or I dam sure still wouldn’t be on it. Also I saw your comment where you told someone else in a post that no one should have to live with anxiety and you try to lecture me on PROTOCOLS AND RULES. I am a dam living PROTOCOL. I HAVE MY DISABILITIES AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE DISORDER FROM SERVING IN THE MILITARY. I know what it means first hand to need the medication and be drug tested 2 or 3 times a month for 20 odd years. To tell me instead of bashing the RULES AND PROTOCOLS I SHOULD SAY SOMETHING POSITIVE ABOUT METHADONE?? No wonder your doctor was questioning you, and by the way I’m surprised he gave u another test. VERY SURPRISED!!

This is what my PA Dr is doing. They do random pill counts and random drug tests. Seeing he said I have to test once a year that will be next month. They have done pill counts randomly and they are permitted to. The opioid epidemic is deadly when not taken the way they should be and it ruins it for those who have to take it for chronic pain. My Aunt lives in ohio and they are given a 7 day supply and then referred to a pain specialist. Showing them 1 pill doesn't prove or disprove the klonopin is in your system. If you test negative insist on seeing the order and then have them retest it. These labs do so many urine samples that they can make a mistake. The lab that did mine did. What state are you in? The government is going to crack down on these meds. My Dr is an amazing dr and saved my life and I trust him 100% but these labs make mistakes.

Hey, I just wanted to say I understand because I am on the methadone program and have been for 21 years. That’s a long time but the first 16 years I could take my Klonopin. I’m a 100% disabled Veteran and have a severe panic and anxiety disorder with a TBI. Well, recently they said state law mandates you cannot take Benzodiazepines with Methadone. I thought I was going to die from well I can’t even explain the pure hell that I am still going thru. I will say I tried every option but was told you either stop or be detoxed. My quality of life is not just terrible but in my opinion this is unethical and is abuse. I am housebound now and there is nothing I can do about it. I will not go back to that life I had over two decades ago but I pray every day that the rule will change but this clinic is STRICT very strict. I hope u find a way to fix your situation. The VA doesn’t help they are even worse. There is a lot of overdoses and drug problems in America and they base that on EVERYONE. It’s a shame some of us do follow the rules and do what’s right.

Yes, my UDS for pain says I am negative fir benzodiazepines even though I have taken 1 mg of klonopin for four years every single day. Thankfully the dr that writes the klonopin does not conduct uds like pain drs have to.

That is not true at all...generics and name brand both have the same percentage of medication in each pill. I was JUST discussing this the other day with 2 pharmacists. That is a huge misconception.

I been taking klonopin for a while 0.5 mg twice a day and every time I test at doctor office shows negative yet at home drug test I test positive idk what they do at their lab and I did drug test I bought in doctor office he said it's fake how can it be fake if I did it right there

Thank you for asking. They did the specific test required for both meds and it came up negative. The Dr said they weren't filling my scripts anymore. He said it's law now that I test every year and I have had 2 or 3 that were selling them. I said did you ask or did they tell or did you assume? He said the test doesn't lie. I said this one did and you have known me since I was 18. I insist you do the test again and send it out instead of the one with the office. I was in full panic attack mode while telling him this. He said I will do another test without prejudice and go from there. The tests came back that they were in my system. I told him they mixed my sample with someone else. I was pissed and relieved at the same time. I told him I can only imagine how many others this happened to. He apologized.

Klonopin is tricky if test is required to prove you're taking it as it's not like other benzos on a test. It metabolizes differently & really would take a special blood test for that specific drug to know for sure. Over 70% of those taking this drug will test negative on a benzo urine test as well as advanced blood test just for benzo panel. This was a problem for a few years but doctors now understand this in 2017.

I failed a test and was thrown out of a program. I filed suit, proved what I posted and settled out of court for my average support without a job for the next 20 years post attorney fees which is 40k per year. Doctors learn fast but ya gotta hit them in the wallets. They sting me, I bite back hard.
