Hydrocodone-acetaminophen 10/325 By Mallinckrodt (Page 6)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

My pharmacy changed my meds from the yellow 10-325 v 3601 norco to the 10-325 white m367 mallinckrodt. I've been taking the yellows for years with no problems. Today I started the whites and feeling dizzy, a little weak, kind of panicky. What is different about the two meds that would cause this?

I agree with you.....The company making Mallincrap must be giving pharmacies in Austin big price reductions because most of them in North Austin is carrying it now......I have to go up to Cedar Park to get Norco pain pills now.....I do say though that the CVS right near the Cedar Park line was carrying Lupin a month ago.....guess the salesman hasn’t hit it yet......they’re back to carrying Sun Pharnacy’s tablet, btw bu I switched to Norco because that tablet didn’t work well.......Norco yellow tablets work!!!

What is up with this brand Mallincrodt Hydrocodone 10/325? It does nothing for my pain! I have been taking this medication for 5 years, and in the last year or so it's been hit or miss (but mostly miss). This seems to be the ONLY brand of this medication on the market these days. I know for a fact there cannot be much hydrocodone in these pills. I don't know what's going on but something is definitely up. Is someone at the warehouse switching out black market junk clones and taking the authentic stuff? They must think people are generally stupid. Someone needs to get them analyzed in a lab and do a write up and expose what is going on. I'd say at most these pills don't have more than 4 to 6 mgs. of hydrocodone in each pill, if that. I think I'd know after being on them for 5 yrs.

These drugs are full of poison - there has to be something in them besides fillers and binders that are making so many of us so sick from headaches to stomach issues to just no pain relief at all - I was forced into withdrawals when suddenly the vicodin i had been taking for over 3 years stopped making them. The manufacturers don't give a s*** about us. I have now tried at least 3 different manufacturers now and none and i mean none of them even come close to the vicodin i had been on all these years. Don't tell me they are all the same. If someone tells you they are all the same and it's in your head then ask them what they are basing that on and what drugs do they take? I guarantee you they are taking a "cocktail" of drugs. When you are taking multiple drugs every day sure you don't notice any difference. But I only take ONE drug and that is vicodin so when they screw up my medicine I know immediately within 30 minutes of taking one pill. Watch out for any narcotics made by Mikart out of Atlanta. They put poison in the pills now and will lie to you and act innocent when you contact them as I have personally done. It's all lies and bulls*** and we will suffer from now on because they have taken the medicine OUT of the pills.

FYI about Walgreens...they have a free prescription card (you have to ask, they won't tell you). My insurance temporarily didn't let us use Walgreens, and since they were the only ones carrying Watson I paid out of pocket. It was about $90 for my prescription. One day I went to a different Walgreens and the nice pharmacist there told me about the card. It lowered the cost to I think $18.

The pain meds are so bad and they think we are so stupid that we don't know the difference because in their minds we are all drug seekers with no real pain. I say bulls***. I also know my body and have been taking hydrocodone for years and mallincrap is just that crap and the only good one out there was made by Abbvie. If any of you out there have been on Abbvie Vicodin I hate to inform you they also are not making them anymore, but what is worse, the pill bottles they still have on the shelves are NOT the same, it is a bait and switch. Same manufacturer on the bottle, same medicine but it is not the same, there is no hydrocodone in them anymore. Mikart is now making the remaining bottles and they are the ones who put the poison in the pills now. I feel sorry for anyone who had the good stuff from Abbvie all these years and now try to find anything that works - you will be very depressed and in pain now. Also, Verwon is a forum watcher or mediator or whatever, he has been on these sites for years, be careful.

Re: Verwon (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

They are not slight fluctuations. That is the garbage the generic producers have been feeding us for years!! Its a crock!! The white pills are crap!! We know our bodies well enough to know when something is off!! Its all garbage these days!! Just like all the sizes of food in grocery stores is getting smaller so is the active medicine getting lesser in our meds. Its so f***ed up!! Ive been on the same medicine for ling enough to know when its effectiveness is being tampered with!! Stay away from the Amneal medicine!! It is pure s***!! It caused me anxiety, upset stomach, migraine and no pain relief!! I cant stand what is going on with the medicine I need to give me quality of life!!

I've only ever had Watson but in all the different generic brands of other meds I have never noticed a difference. Sometimes I wonder if people just think it's acting differently. I know generics can vary, ever so slightly, in the amount of the drug that it may actually contain but hydrocodone is hydrocodone and acetaminophen is acetaminophen.

Re: RhoRhoRho (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

I switched to Kroger pharmacy with mallincrodt brand, it's ok but not a quality generic, it doesn't give me the bad side effects like amneal did,but I have also cut back on amount per day. I am having a intermittent pain in my stomach,I have a complete physical soon, it's not my colon! Hope everyone is doing well!!

Re: Lynn (# 80) Expand Referenced Message

if you got oxy instead of hydro I wouldn't say anything and just be happy. hydrocodone would be the Norco, Oxycodone would be Percocet. Percocet is noticeably stronger.

Re: RhoRhoRho (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

I finally got the mallinckrodt at Kroger pharmacy (Georgia). Anneal is crap, made me very sick & I took them anyway because I couldn't do anything else! Now this is what blew my mind. My drug panel came back with a false reading for a drug I know very little about - oxycodone (I have since researched this med). Now the Walgreens I was using had all new people, so I don't know which company screwed up? But one of them did!!! I have talked to 3 other people all day. They also showed false readings for something they were not prescribed!!! IS THE OPIOID WAR THIS BAD? If so we need some investigations done!!! I am a responsible mature (55 y/o) patient & very careful with any of my meds! In fact I had my doctor cut my hydros back & going with holistic, vitamin supplements & non-narcotics! Please, I need to know how many of us are being hurt by this??? It's not just horrible, it's horrendous!!! Thx!!!

Re: blankfrank (# 11) Expand Referenced Message

I agree with you. I had the same problem with Mallinckrodt. I was so sick I was throwing up. I have been on Hydrocodone for years and never had such agony. What was worse they made me shake agitated and just plain miserable. With all the side affects it seemed to make my pain feel worse. I am a single mom of 3 and take care of a disabled father. I never thought that I would have to compromise my life over medication. I had an appointment with a physiatrist and off course was sick taking this medication. He labeled me a major maniac depressant. Now my MD won’t refill my prescriptions. I moved and had to start with new Drs. My family and I were exposed to toxic black Mold for 5 years. It was so bad that our air test was deemed condemned. It was no wonder we all were so sick. That alone had severe consequences and added to my pain. I also have ADHD. I picked up my meds yesterday and had no idea the pharmacy went to Mallinckrodt for those too. Now, I’m just plain mad this company can now manufacturer this medication too. I feel the pharmacy should warn you before you fill your script that they changed manufacturers if you give them your business. I am on state ins. because my ex doesn’t pay the required ins. so I have had to turn to the state. I wonder sometimes if this is why I get the worst medication on the planet. Now I have to go to pain management which is in this day and age guilty to proven innocent. I come from the days you could talk frank with your MD and they listened and helped. Since my amazing Dr retired in 2014 I have become a seeker because I don’t want to be sick and in pain. I have 4 severely damaged discs with bone spurs that have affected my spine. I am out of patience. Pain management wants me to do physical therapy. Great make sure I get the medication that works and I will do what is ordered.

Re: RhoRhoRho (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

I found out the same as you!! Watson sold their generics to Teva, at least that is what I was told by Watson. Teva said probably won't change Watson's formula, because it's too expensive to change it!! I'm going hollistic. Amneal made me so so very sick!! Almost had to go to ER!! Then I did a home remedy and I'm still sick, but better! Good luck all!!!

Hey Kimber, it is a letter from amneal. I posted, however,I am going through my insurance pharmacy! Optum rx & they deliver to my home, I am in GA. I have a ppo with dual advantage w/ United health-care Medicare! The only other med close to Watson, is mallincrodt,so I have been told????

Re: Lynn (# 68) Expand Referenced Message

Hey Lynn. I would take the pill to be tested to a place that IS NOT affiliated with Amneal. They will cover it up. Every time I've called there I get transferred to someone who barely speaks english. I opened a case with them awhile back. I got a letter back saying there is nothing with the pill that is not in compliance with regulations. I say bullcrap!! They are in it for the money!! They dont care about people suffering from pain!! Their price is the lowest so it's clear they are chiselling out the amount of medicine in the pills. They want all the pharmacies to buy this garbage so they lower the price along with the amount of medicine in the pills. I'm on to their underhanded ways!! I will not go to a pharmacy that dispenses this crap!! Walgreens is dispensing this crap now. Goodbye Walgreens!!

Re: Kimber (# 71) Expand Referenced Message

Qualitest is a generic. Just like Amneal. Brand medications are so expensive Insurance companies will not pay for them unless there is no generic. Or the doctor has written on the prescription it has to be filled with Brand Name. Prior Authorizations are usually required for Brand Name medications. Which means more paper work for the doctor.Patients that pay cash cannot afford Brand Name medications.

Re: Lynn (# 68) Expand Referenced Message

Hey Lynn I am with you! It seems like a lot of pharmacies are going to this Amneal garbage. I hate it! I can definitely tell this medicine is crap!! It does not get rid of my back pain like the Qualitest did. I don't like the games that are being played between pharmacies and drug manufacturers! I DONT WANT GENERIC!! It is s***!
