How Should I Come Off Propranolol
UpdatedIn a nuteshell: I have anxiety(looking at it now I feel like I have social anxiety), high blood pressure and a.d.d
Iv been taking Propranolol(for high blood pressure) and Paxil for anxiety, and adderall for my a.d.d, iv been taking these for around 3 years
I felt great but only for a year...For the past 2 years now iv been feeling really depressed and anxious, honestly I felt a lot better when I wasn't on all of this crap, just the stress of school and everything has made pills the only option for me. So in the last 2 months I decided to come off everything, I went from taking 15mg of Paxil to 5mg, and adderall 30mg I'm taking twice a week, now the propanol 60mg long acting, I remember I tried to get off it cold turkey, but I really felt anxious/nervous and felt like my heart was beating way to fast, and the long acting comes in a capsule with beads. So should I just eyeball the dose? Or should I just drop it down to a dose where I basically don't feel the side affects of the drowsiness, but my blood pressure is at a good point, any suggestions on how I should go about this?
P.s my psychologist prescribed me these meds and to this day I'm still unsure if I should even be on these

Hello, Adam! How are you?
If you have high blood pressure, it might not be a good idea to try to stop the Propranolol. A sudden cessation can cause a rebound effect, that results in dangerously elevated heart rate and blood pressure.
Thus, you should consult your doctor about what is appropriate. If you aren't certain that your psychologist knows, then see a PCP or a cardiologist.
Is there anything else I can help with?
I have been on propanolol for three years 20 mg twice daily and have come off them abruptly my head feels like it will explode and I am anxious anyone else felt like this ??
If you haven't already read it, have a look at Claire Weekes' book "Self Help for Your Nerves". This book has the answer to anxiety problems if you really do what it says. The only way to deal with these symptoms of anxiety is to stop fighting them. Stop trying to get rid of them. You need to accept the physical sensations of anxiety like you would if it was a pain in your knee. If you accept the symptoms instead of fearing them they will diminish over a period of time and you will be free. This is easier said than done but it does work.
Hi I took this medication for anxiety. Only took the meds twice a day for five days. I've been.off for two.weeks and a suffered the exact same withdrawal symptoms for a week now. Saw my doctor earlier today and he prescribed more. I would much rather prefer natural methods to deal with my anxiety. This medication doesn't seem to be helpful me
