It seems to be different for everyone for which non narcotic drugs that you can take for withdrawal. It depends on your symptoms. If you have nausea, Zofran is a great drug for that. If you have stomach cramps, Bental is a great drug for that. For anxiety and hot and cold sweats and just plain old jumping out of your skin type s***. Personally I think that the combo of Neorotin, Visteral and clonidine works great. Now all of these drugs are prescribed by a doctor. I don't want to add to anyone's problems but Klonopin works great for every symptom of opiate withdrawal. But I must warn you Klonopin is a highly addictive drug and you can die from overdose or once you have been taking it for a while and become addicted, if you stop taking it all at once you can die. I hope this was helpful. Also try going to NA meetings there are so many different groups and meetings out there, you will be able to find one that's right for you and be able to help you. Good luck!

Hello I a writing you to see if I can get any information or help with my situation. I have been on suboxone for a yr but been tapering down for the past 6 months, I hate being dependent on them and need to have a small surgery done and I take ab 2 and a half mgs each morning one time a day and I feel withdrawls by that night and the especially the next morning. Is there anyway you could tell me how long it would take to get suboxone out of my system? Need to know how long to give myself before scheduling my procedure.

I have been where you are and I had an unplanned pregnancy and was told to stop everything all at once. I almost died and my now beautiful baby girl as well. I did a 5 day detox in the hospital and I was in HELL. When I got home, I felt better ( probably since I hated that hospital so much ) but my symptoms soon came back. So my doctor slowly tapered me down over the course of 6 months. And I felt great. I was on 8mg of Xanax when I found out I was pregnant and switched to klonipin and was at .125mgs once a day by the end of the 6 months. So my suggestion would be to have a good doctor you trust to help you get off of suboxone or any type of benzodiazepenes.

Wean yourself down. Just don't stop ! That's asking for a bad way to go! Tapering is the secret, along with gabapentin, ambein, antidepressants if you need, and last, Tramadol at a low dose.

Wow, you scared me, and I'm not even thinking about back surgery. Hey kids, just say NO and stay in school. Don't let this happen to you. A waste is a terrible thing to mind.

There are a lot of posts on this website about early withdrawal from Suboxone. I found a lot of really great advice & support here that I could NOT get elsewhere. I suggest that anyone recently withdrawing, tapering, or preparing to do so look some of those up. Anything I would say would be redundant. I have been 100% Suboxone free for almost a year now & I am still not back to "normal." I took 2-4 mg a day for approximately 2 years. It has been quite a journey. I'm not going into any war stories; experiences seem to vary. Mine was apparently extreme. What I will say is this: if you haven't started-DONT. If you are on it-STOP. Get help wherever & whenever you can. It's bad stuff. I am so grateful I made it this far. I wouldn't wish my experience on my worst enemy. Best of luck to you.

I had a friend that took kratum. It is over the counter but expensive and just as addictive. He would do anything to get it. It comes in capsules like vitamin supplements but would not suggest taking it before a drug panel. I don't know but it's legal for now

Kratom is awesome. It has helped countless people get off subs and other opiates.

Xanax is way more additive than opiates or at least the withdrawal symptoms are worse. I work in the industry and its different for everyone but generally its what i see
The brain produces endorfins which are powerful opiod like chemicals
benzos are synthetic..valium invented during korean war for field surgery
good luck
ps exercise helps as do distractive activity's

Things like benedryl and clonidine also neurontin help with symptoms. An OTC upper is benzedrex which tastes nasty. Its almost like u need a pharmacy to come down off of it. Im at day 7 and have to still force myself up to do things. When you make yourself do this stuff activities and such it help release the body's natural endorphins...like the exercising mentioned above. hang in there....I keep telling myself I put myself here so I have to deal with it. Some days are just easier than others

Please please tapper down slowly, weaning yourself off. I mean I had it down to 1 strip which could last a couple of days. Sometimes only needing a very tiny piece. Going cold turkey is worse than narcotic withdrawals. I was on 120 a month 4 times a day. I was afraid to tell my doctor I was tapering down because at any point I didn't know if I had enough strength...and I didn't want to appear weak. I stayed sober that time. My first attempt at staying sober well I lost my health insurance because of divorce and suboxone is very expensive. For a script of 120 it was well over a grand more like 9$ each. I found myself for the next few months was buying 1 or 2 at a time off my script till that ran out and subs are hard to find on the black market or street. After months, even years of struggle it was easier to find pills. Staying clean and sober thanks to the miracle drug of suboxone. Please don't judge those of us who actually relapse... chances are the majority of people on here are fellow addicts facing their demons daily. Support one another and encourage sober life. I have lost 4 very close friends all from overdoses or bad street drugs in the last four months. Tomorrow is not a guarantee and we only have one very precious life. Be thankful.... and cherish it. God bless and good luck.

HI, I have chronic pain due to three fusion operations on my back. I have been on a plethora of pain meds throughout the past 8 yrs to control the pain. Currently on Fentynl patch 25mg Oxcodone and recently I just stepped own and got off of Methadone. I am scheduled to go in next week for the Dr. to administer Zubsolv, they were going to give me Suboxone but my Damn Insurance won't cover it. They cover Zubsolv but not Suboxone, figure that one out! Anyway, here is my question, if Zubsolv is used to get people who are dependant upon opiods off of them, then what is used after the zubsolv does it's thing and removes the opiods from my body? Will I still experience the chronic pain just by taking Zubsolv?? This is where it becomes nebulous to me. I get the fact that I'm dependant upon opiods for pain but the Dr. feels that my body has become somewhat impervious to all the opiods trying to fight my pain. My concern is that I will still experience a great deal of pain once they administer the Zubsolv. Is Zubsolv a pain medicine?? Nobody can seem to answer that . Or will it act as a pain medicine once my system reboots itself I guess since the way I understand it is that the opiods have screwed up my pain receptors and therefore that's why even though I take these meds I am still in pain?? very confused , any help would be appreciated. TU

If a person never took opiates or Suboxone, do you know how long it would take to get out of their system if they accidentally took the wrong medicine and was only half a pill?

It's ok i have done this before, suboxone withdrawals are a different ball game. This will be the hardest withdrawal you have ever gone through. I did the sub program 4 times in my life. Each time i was on it for about 2 to 3 years. I'm getting off again because i cant afford it. But i learned a trick. This only applies to someone committed to getting off opiates. The last time i kicked subs i took a couple pain pills just to get me through the peek of withdraw time. "When ur body's feeling like it's literally being ripped apart." Sub withdrawals are worse than any withdrawal by far! I don't care what anyone says. Ur going to suffer for 30 days. But for me i will take a couple of pills for the peek of it. Not to feel high but to survive. Because i do want off. But i would rather die than kick suboxone without a lil help. But when the worst part is over like the 4 to 5 days of pure hell, put down the "helper pills"!

please do your self a favor do not stay on SUB for very long it is harder to kick than opiates it will work for your withdraw but only use it for a very short time I have been on 8/2 mg twice a day now down to 1/2 8/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night so im now down to only one pill a day hoping to get down to just 1/2 a day it takes months of tappering trust me you do not want to stay on this SUB only use it till you feel better then start tappering as fast as you can either way wqe are going to feel like crap for a while stay strong
