How Hard Will It Be To Get A Suboxen Program That I Can Work With While Workin On The Road Regularly

I dropped out of my first attempt at a suboxen program ( cause I really would like to do the "program" and not on my own) because they gave very impractical terms for my participation. They expected me to attend 5 AA meetings weekly and show proof at every visit... That being said I work the road and am gone 6-7 months a year and just have no clue and no time in evenings after 12 hour days (schedules dont jell with these centers) to hit these programs.. I would have loved to use the NA.org website but this doctor was very odd in his requirements.. So that being said... is there any alternatives? And do most doctors refuse a second chance for folks who reoffend and do not follow docs programs criteria after one visit? Is there a national data base that will tell other docs that I have sought help and lasted only a month? I am NOT trying to get more suboxen this isnt that kind of question I am just wondering if by me seeking help again (after 10 months between visits ) am I simply fooling myself..? I have hade friends who got suboxen from there doctors and there was none of this "Go to AA" stuff..frankly I am dependent on it due to my valid pain and condition....But like I was saying Ive had friends say they went to doctors and doctors just prescribed it likle any other drug? Anyone aware of this as well?

Those requirements aren't set by the doctors, those are set by the government, so you're going to run into that with any doctor that treats with it. They must make sure their patients attend regular counseling sessions, or they will lose their waiver to treat with Suboxone.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Some doctors weren't requiring it in the past, but there was a recent crackdown to make them start doing so.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Huge help and that makes sense.... I just found a doctor who will see me and only ask for 3 meetings a month signed..... and a 90$ fee for drug panels upon visiting each month ...so that isn't relatively too bad...Great info you gave me I really appreciate you!!

Let me ask you friend..... with most suboxen programs do they send you home with your prescription for the month or do they make you come there every day? MY first attempt a year ago they gave me my 2 box's up front... I was just not sure tho.... I really did like them and got clean quick.... the only reason I went back to pills was the pain and my wife is on pills too through clinic..so its hard..but I look at it now that I WANT CLEAN at any expense..and I am serious....I want my life back!! I want freedom to do the kind of work I do and that often means being ready to go across country at a moments notice....thats the life of whatI do...and now I almost get anxiety and try and find ways not to go, so afraid of getting sick and having to get back to home to see doc...its sooo not me ..but has been the last 2 years..I hate it
