I was on Saphris for four years. My doctor wants me to wean me off of it because I am Type 2 Diabetic and my levels of sugar are raised. He doesn't want me on insulin. Eventually he wants to put me on Lutuda for Bipolar Disorder, but I am unable to sleep weaning off the Saphris. I am afraid of becoming manic.

Hello, Candy! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the insomnia.
Have you spoken to your doctor about it? They may be able to prescribe something to help minimize the withdrawal effects, such as the insomnia. You may also experience rebound depression, irritability and diarrhea.
Does anyone else have any ideas of what might help?
