How Long Does Tramadol Stay In Your System (Page 9) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI took 100 mg of Tramadol last Thursday and have to have a urine test at my pain doc next Thursday (2 weeks between dosage and test). I was wondering if anyone has been tested positive after that long?
I have taken tramidol for 4 years never had problem with random drug testing but now since its a controlled sustance I worry I like my job I drive haz mat tanker I do have a prescription
Wrong, i was tested and and my Dr. Said i tested positive for Tramadol. Told me i could not take it or else lose my pain medicine!
Tramadol was not classified as a narcotic until recently. just like soma-I believe it is those who abuse these medications give them a bad name.
I don't think it will show up after that long. However...I could be wrong and let me explain this... it don't stick to your cells...... like Pot does. But.... remember when going to a pain management Dr they have specialized drug test. Several panels. I think the one they do on me is like 27 panels. They do check for drugs you are not supposed to be taking........but..... they ALSO check for the medications your supposed to be taking and they do measure how much is in your system. Meaning..... If your only taking about half of your meds and selling them....... or just not taking them .......they WILL know. It happened to me. They put me on stronger medication.... a different medication.... and when they did my test I more or less failed on the amount they tested me for. I was way low. Yes they asked me point blank if I was selling it! I said no.. the meds they switched me to was allot better and I did not need as much. So they fixed my wagon really fast...... they give me a new script and cut back the count on me..and sure enough the next month I needed the extra I had not taken and it took me 4 months for them to move me back up to what they originally give me. They drug tested me the month before they give them back to me ......and then again the month after I was given them back. Pain Management Drs do NOT play around. And I have a good relationship with my Dr and his PA's. But they will quickly put you in your place. I have had to see one since 2007. I started off with Tramadol as needed and a very light 12mg Fentynal Patch. I have graduated to Oxycodone 30mg and 50 mg patch every other day. I hate that I have to take it. But I can not take products with Aspirin in them... I was taking Celebrex before and when I had a GI bleed just taking one of anything with Aspirin in it will land me in ICU with a bleeding ulcer. And I know eventually I will be on stronger stuff after my body gets used to what its getting now..... Its sad..... I hate that I am on it and addicted to it... If I happen to run out early...... I suffer so badly its not funny. I do hope it does not show up on your test if you are tested. But remember they have the heavy duty drug tests.. Best wishes and please come back and tell us how it goes. No one does......and we are still left wondering with not many answer's.
A lot of over the counter medications can show up as meth-so you need to tell your pain management Dr, if you take like robatussin and i just heard that zantac for heartburn can show meth. I am sure there are a lot of things that a person can take that shows up meth. so it might not be the Tramadol?
I heard the laws changed on what they test for? So tramadol would come up?
Thanks got your reply! So I have cut my dose of tramadol down. How long did it take you to get rid of the cravings for it ? Did your body ever adjust to the lower dosage?
That is not true, I see a pain management doctor and took some tramadol thinking it would not be a problem. I was given a warning because it showed up in my system. They DO in fact test for it specifically.
I was recently on 50mg three times a day for one month. Took me two days to get over really feeling like crap and about a week to get over the anxiety and nervousness. Did a drug test two weeks later and was clean.
Tramadol IS considered a narcotic now by doctors and pharmacies but technically it's not bcz it's not the same as other opiates. I've been in the suboxone clinic, as well, almost a year now and they'll tell you that it blocks opiates but it does not block tramadol bcz, like I said, not the same ingredients. Also tramadol will be out of your system by 1 week at least.... Probably sooner.
Some pills are missing (50), the finger is being pointed at me. ls there a blood/urine/or any other test to help determine any usage??? (Not guilty)!!!
However you add it up! On renewing my pilot medical class three. ( private pilot), I willingly submitted information to the examiner, for reasons of being in compliance with Canadian air regulations. CAR'S. I the chief medical officers opinion it is indeed considered an opiate. Can cause sedation.
Ordered not to exercise the priveleges of my licence as pilot in command while using this medication. Therefore grounded. What does that tell you. That includes most forms of muscle relaxants, codeine, gabapentin and any form of anti spasmodic medication.
I am now a walking eagle. Thanks for the forum. Too late. Cheer's.
Why would she be worried about it if she had a script for the tramadol. Answer the question. Will it be out of her system or not.
I took tramadol Saturday and I have to test Tuesday for cads and it's a 8 panel will it show up on my test
Thank you for letting us know this. So many or I will say most will not come back and let us know if they passed or not. Questions to help others if you do not mind......... How many panel was it......and what was it for....... its ok if it was for probation. Many here are on probation or pain management. Did you take any steps to help remove it from your body like lots of water and sweating or not? These are the things they will want to know. I myself dont need the anwser to this but will help so many in the long run. I have found most people here are in pain but can not get the necessary meds they need to keep from pain.......or they are trying to stop drugs...... and slip........ etc......... I have never been a addict and never intend to be one. I am however a patient in Pain Managment and they have a several panel test they do on us ......its a pop test .....you never know your gonna get one......and I mean we are talking over 20 panels.......... they test you for everything........ your supposed to be taking and make sure it shows up enough...........and what we are not supposed to be taking...... I have never failed as far as what I shouldn't be taking........but have failed once for meds they have given me to take...... that I did not have enough in my system.. Yep they do that. So I learned fast. My first and only strike I can have. So thank you so much for letting us know this......... if you would indulge however in what you did before it would be much appreciated. More than likely I am thinking that you did not know that Tramadol is a controlled medication now. Thank you again for posting.
U r ABSOLUTELY RIGHT...it was just recently switched into the norcatic class opiate drug & now alot of places DO TEST r have added it to the panel
Narcotics need a new script every month and cannot have refills on them. My Tramadol script has 6 refills on it and can be called in. Tramadol is not in the same class as opiotes.
HI, walking eagle here. After an acute incident. (Stepped off a 3 1/2 inch sidewalk under repair. A few months ago. Have to give credit to my doctor for making an effort to relieve my severe pain symptoms. Without going to true opiates. Bacfloren, gabapentin,
Lyrica, and tramadol. May I suggest to always do your homework and write a daily log , watching for side effects, interactions and mood changes. Sciatica is In describable to persons who never suffered with this. After extensive physical therapy
Kinesiology, massage, and chiropractic care.
( not the bone crunching kind. Gentle release methods. ) I am now considered functional enough to exercise my priveleges running with a manageable pain level of 2 out of 10.
Celebrex, Tylenol, ibuprofen,or aspirin.
Line your stomach with something before taking any medication. Even Virgin olive oil will help. These opiates or synthetics hopefully will get you through the acute stages of your issues. Alternative methods of healing are the only road back. Therapy, exercise, weight loss. Diet. Control of bad habits, you know what I mean . I have a few myself. I only wonder how many denzel washington's (Flight)are out there among us. Trying to deal with pain issues.
I hope that helps. I did not feel compromised in function. However, again all these substances effect us differently.
Cheer's
I'm reading a lot of misinformation here... Tramadol is a synthetic (man made) opioid. It has less abuse potential so it is a schedule IV drug. Suboxone is also an opioid and has 2 medications: bupenorphine (opioid) and naloxone (opioid "block"). The bupenorphine (also found in Subutex and Zubsolv) has a stronger affinity to the opioid receptors in the body than other opioids. Meaning, when you take Suboxone (at the proper dose, that is key) and then attempt to take other opioids, you will not feel the effects of the other opioids because there are no free receptors for the opioids to bind to and the bupenorphine cannot be "bounced off" the receptors. The nalaxone is only effective (able to block opioids) if used intravenously, and is added to the medication to prevent misuse. Hope that helps.
