I took 10 mg of Ativan on Saturday night and have a urine drug test today, Tuesday at 5:30. Will it be out by then?

Hi Tracy-
Every clinic is different, and then of course they differ by state and federal, so I have no idea how many they might take. However...as you have a legit Rx for the med and a very legit reason for having been prescribed it, AND you went to talk to your counselor and told her before hand what you had taken, I would think that they should not fault you- and they may just do as my clinic did and ask you not to take it anymore. Also- I am not sure if you know what NAMA-R is. It stands for National Alliance of Medication Assisted Recovery (used to stand for Nat Alliance of Methadone Advocates) and their org has advocates that can help you in the event that you have any problems with your clinic. I bring this up bc SAMHSA's TIP 43 (look that up if you like...it is good reading) doesn't recommend that an Opioid Treatment Provider take away any takehomes based on ONE positive UA of an illicit med (yours was not even illicit as you have an Rx- though they may argue the Rx is old). If they do take away ANY takehomes, you can file a grievance through NAMA and someone will advocate on your behalf. If this does happen, let me know on here and I will steer you in the right way. However- I don't think they will. What did your counselor tell you? I would leave you my email address but this site won't allow and will remove it. I wish you the best...so don't over think it because more than likely you are ok.

That's a lie because I took and ativan and failed 49 hours later. Small dosage and only took it twice

I just took a UScreen cup test for probation. The cut off for Benzodiazepines are 300 ng. Three weeks ago I took 90 2mg of Lorazepam throughout the course of one week. And on Saturday (today is Thursday) I took a .25 xanax. Everything was negative. Just know your drug test, and your drug. No lines appeared so it was completely gone. There are some benzos that can stay in your body for weeks, like Valium, but apparently Ativan and Xanax are nothing to be worried about if you've got time and you can stay sober.

I took ativan on September the 24th at the er and I believe it was .2mg but I'm not sure it was really small and white. My question is I took a drug test 10/11 and I'm wondering if it'll show up. Can someone please get back to me??

I took about 8 Ativan 2mg over the past few days I get drug tested every 2 weeks today is jul 7 and I have another urine test on July 16th will the Ativan be out of my system by then? Pls help! Thanks :)

Ativan most definately veries from person to person..I have a drug test every month and as long as i give it 48 hours i have never once failed my labs..I have been doing this for almost 3 years now with no problems..Sometimes i wait 72 hours just to be safe..

Hi Tracy-
Chances are- YES. If you read my story below, you'll see why I give this answer. I also attend a clinic and took 1 and 1/2mgs of Ativan on a Thursday night and when I was given a UA on the following Tuesday morn at 5:30am...it came back positive. I was surprised because I had researched it here and most say it is out of your system in hours, and I also knew it was the benzo that stays in your system the least amount of time, so I thought I was fine. But NOPE...I took that UA 5 days after taking Ativan (the only ones I have ever taken) and it came back positive. It was prescribed (a small prescription, as a result of an ER visit, but still, I didn't want to have a positive test.

Maybe you'll have a different experience! I wish you the best. Keep me updated on how it turns out.

Duhh- I know right! Not an active ingredient...generic is the correct term.
I have learned on these forums it is POINTLESS to argue. I've taken ONE Ativan in my life, and 5 days later it showed on a UA.

No you're wrong JJJ. 7-12 hours is closer to the half life of the drug not the time for it to be out of your system.

Please someone help me, I take hydroxyzine for anxiety and I ran out so I took a Ativan from a friend one day and the next day a half of a Xanax bar. That was all I have taken in a years time. I have a urine test by my doctor in 6 to 7 weeks will it be out of my system by then?

Ok I took one 1 mg Ativan around 2 am and then had to urine test for the clinic at 6:30. Will it show since I only took one, and if so how long does it take your body to process it and it show in my urine?? Also took valium over a week ago, will that still show too?

7~12 hours is the half life of the drug. It is still in your urine for up to 7 days

You sure it was an Ativan? This is the first situation I've ever heard of. False positive? I get tested weekly and clonazepam doesn't show up at all and I take it daily. Ativan I usually take 10 mg before a dentist and have had a test the next morning and nothing showed

You are so right, I get urine test once a month and after taking valium it showed for thirty days , now I take ativan and it's been out of my urine within twelve hours, so again thank u for telling it correctly, life spans are different for different drugs

just for anyone worried, i took 5mg ativan 6 days ago, and id had a few doses on previous days but not sure on amount but less than 5mg.

Anyway i was required to take a drug test for work, i thought it would be an instant urine test but no, it was sent to the lab. It came back clean.
